Thank you to all who applied. I don’t think there was anyone who didn’t sound deserving of a scholarship and it was really difficult to consider who should get the places when I looked over the applications.

I went with what Spirit recommended in terms of who the recipients should be. The guidance I got was most focused on who would be best placed to use the materials now in order to reach their goals and/or help others.

I want to honour the amount of detail, personal info and the stories people submitted via the form (and by email). I wish I had time to respond personally to everyone but given the volume of applications it isn’t possible. Thank you very much for your vulnerability and trust in sharing so much information with me, and especially to those who put a lot of thought and time into their applications.

The info everyone submitted has been deleted now the recipients have been chosen.

PS. There was some confusion about what date the scheme ended. It was end of the day New Zealand time on 7th May but I didn’t make this clear so I also included a few US based people who applied by email before end of the day US time on the 7th.
