Neville Goddard: How to Do the Revision Technique

In this article I’m going to cover:

    • How to do the Neville Goddard Revision technique
    • How it works
    • And who can benefit from it.

I am someone who has revised over 100 memories from my childhood and it has changed my life. I think that this technique is fantastic and I am excited to share what I have learned about how to do it.

If you don’t want the preliminary info and just want to skip straight to the revision instructions, click on the link just below:

    Otherwise, read on…

    What Is Revision?

Neville Goddard talked about the revision technique in his 1954 lecture ‘The Pruning Shears of Revision’. He recommended that his students revise their day on a nightly basis by re-imagining any events that were unfavourable, and essentially re-writing them so that the events were what they wanted to experience.

This is what revision is: it’s re-imagining the past not how it was, but how you wanted it to be.

    How Does Revision Work?

To understand how revision really works we need to understand how we create our reality here in the 3D.

Here’s how it goes: first of all, you receive vital life force from Source or Infinite Intelligence (of which your soul is a part). This life force passes through your subconscious mind and then your subconscious mind conditions that life force with whatever it contains — which is mostly your beliefs, assumptions, and self-concept.

That conditioned life force is projected out into the quantum field, and your 3D reality re-arranges itself to match whatever you are projecting. So your current 3D reality is a perfect reflection of your subconscious mind and its beliefs, self-concept and assumptions.

Consciously manifesting a new outcome is all about changing what your subconscious mind holds within it, so that you can manifest something new.

We normally do this through visualisations/SATS, affirmations and other techniques. Manifesting is all about successfully impressing the subconscious mind (often through these techniques) with what you want to see in your life.

Do you know what impresses the subconscious mind most powerfully? More powerfully than any affirmation or any visualisation?

Negative events from the past, and especially ones that occurred during the time when you were forming your self-concept and beliefs (so, from the first 20 or so years of life.)

Negative events from our formative years are powerfully impressed onto the subconscious mind, and result in limiting beliefs that can be tricky to change later on. These beliefs sit in our subconscious mind and we manifest according to them.

Therefore, if you truly want to experience something different in your 3D reality, you may need to not only ‘insert’ a new story into your subconscious mind, with affirmations and SATS, but you may need to also ‘take out’ the old story, using revision.

I believe that revision is the missing link for many conscious creators who are failing to create what they want.

If you are fighting an uphill battle to forget the old story and shed the ‘old self’, you probably need to revise.

If you say affirmations and use SATS but the past still looms large and you struggle to stay positive, you may need to revise.

Neville Goddard said that revision is the most powerful technique for manifesting, and he also said that if you take only one thing from his work, it should be revision.

Below I provide detailed instructions on how to revise.

Here’s how to revise an unfavourable memory from your past

    1. Take your past memory that you want to rewrite and write it down at the top of a piece of paper. Ask yourself, how did you feel during this event/interaction? Write that out.

    2. How did you want to feel? It’s usually the opposite, so write that out.

    3. Then come up with a revised scenario with the person involved that would make you feel that opposite. Write out a detailed scene on paper of how you wanted it to go.

As an example, let’s say someone is revising being hit by a caregiver in childhood. In that memory, they felt unsafe and unprotected. The opposite of this is feeling safe and protected. To achieve this, they could revise that that caregiver instead protected them in a similar situation where someone threatened violence. Maybe they had a nanny or a babysitter who threatened to spank them if they didn’t behave but the caregiver stepped in and fiercely protected them, by firing that babysitter and telling the babysitter “this is non-violent household, therefore you no longer work here”. Or alternatively, they could revise that the caregiver tells them after a fight with a sibling that “we never use violence in this household.”

    4. Revision is SATS, but for the past, so once you have your scene, get yourself into a meditative state. Do a few minutes of mindfulness meditation at least before you revise, where you focus on your breath for several minutes.

    5. Then play out your scene in imagination, in detail. Do it from the first person perspective and try to add as many details as possible

    6. Loop it between 3-7 times, or until you feel a sense of emotion and the scene takes on tones of reality. For example, if you are revising the time a caregiver hit you in childhood, until you feel safe and protected. Once you feel the emotion you want to feel, you’re done

    7. Then this is not 100% necessary but at the end I like to either burn or shred the paper with the details of the old memory.

The old memory should now fade into the background once you’ve done it and seem “less real”. If it still troubles you, it usually means that you haven’t revised it in a way that convinces your subconscious and you may need to come up with another scenario, or that you simply didn’t loop it enough.

    My Experiences with Revision

I first came across revision watching some videos by YouTuber Missy Renee (who is one of the few LOA YouTubers I think is worth listening to) She talked about how she had manifested the life of her dreams — she was in a happy relationship, had the home of her dreams and had a successful business.

But earlier in her life it had been a different story. She grew up in a dysfunctional family and her childhood had negatively affected her, especially in the area of romantic relationships. She had been in a good relationship with her now partner but ruined the relationship because of all her insecurities which came from things that happened to her in childhood. She also said she suffered from addictions and mental health issues.

She said she revised 200+ memories from her long term past and this is what completely changed the trajectory of her life in terms of what she was manifesting.

My ears really pricked up when I heard this.

I also came from a dysfunctional family and it had affected me in many areas of life, particularly with my health and romantic relationships. I often felt like manifesting a better future was an uphill battle — it was definitely a battle I could fight, but I was ‘brute forcing’ it with mental diet, affirmations, and SATS. These did actually work, but I felt like I was fighting against a force that was perhaps more powerful (aka the past) and it seemed to repeat in a couple of ways, in spite of all my good work.

Revision appeared to offer a way to completely move beyond the past so I grabbed it with both hands.

I revised 100+ memories from my childhood. I listed out all of the memories from my life that I wanted to revise and then I started with revising those memories that were from the first 17 years of my life.

I revised them all over a period of 2.5 weeks (which admittedly was way too fast, and I don’t recommend this.)

The effects of the revision were amazing. I felt like I was in a different reality afterwards and I was. My health improved. My finances suddenly became even more abundant than they were before. An avalanche of good luck events occurred just in the space of one month. Certain positive habits that I’d struggled to keep up on a daily basis suddenly became easy to do.

It was as if I had all this good luck in escrow and the revision made it so that I could receive it. I felt more empowered. I could also drop the affirmations and strict mental diet that I was doing to manifest, because I didn’t need those things anymore. I had already become the ‘new self’ with the help of revision, so saying affirmations was no longer something I needed to stay on track with my manifestation, but instead something I sometimes did just for a nice boost of positive energy. My thoughts naturally aligned themselves with my desired reality and no mental diet was needed after the revision.

Note that I have done many healing modalities over the last 12 years, and nothing I’ve done in the past compares to the results that came from revision in terms of clearing a karmic complex. I want to qualify that by saying that the other modalities I’ve done (such as cord cutting) have helped me a lot in the past and I still recommend them, but revision has a power that surpasses the other measures I’ve taken, specifically for clearing karmic complexes.

I feel like I have become the person I would have been, had those events in childhood never happened. I don’t know if the revision changed the past, but it certainly has changed me.

A psychic in my circle who didn’t know I had just done a lot of revision said to me afterwards “Woah, what have you done to your aura! You have just released a ton of karma through forgiveness and now you’re free.”

This was just some more external validation (which I didn’t really need, because I already knew on the inside) that I really was in a new reality.

I still have revision that I’d like to do (I’m only about 40% complete on all the memories from my life) but I’ve done enough to understand why Neville Goddard said that if you only take one thing from his work, it should be revision.

The fact is, revision changes you and your subconscious mind. The past doesn’t stay in the past. It often impresses your subconscious mind with its unfavourable outcome and then goes out into the future. It takes huge conscious effort to stop the past repeating itself.

Why not make it easier on yourself and revise?

Revision essentially pulls the negative memory, and the limiting beliefs associated with that memory, out at its roots. Saying positive affirmations when you have negative past memories and limiting beliefs is like mowing a lawn with weeds on it. You can mow over the weed and it disappears for a while. (This is what affirmations will do.) But revision pulls the weed out at its root so you no longer need to keep mowing it. So, if you do feel ready for revision, this could be one way of manifesting your desired reality without having to work as hard for it over the long term.

The people who could not manifest the life they wanted

I recently listened to YouTuber Brian Scott of ‘Reality Revolution’ read an essay written by a man called Israel Regardie, who was a student of Neville Goddard’s in the 1940s. Israel Regardie said that when Neville gave lectures teaching people how to use the Law of Assumption, there was always a small disgruntled group of people among his students who could not get the Law to work for them at all.

They would become frustrated and angry with Neville, and call him a fraud.

I believe that these people were probably the ones who needed to revise their long-term past.

They were trying to manifest certain things, but their past was overriding their efforts because their subconscious mind had been so impressed with past negative events.

(This is what happened for me when I tried to use the Law of Attraction and ‘the Secret’ when I discovered it 15 years ago. I just couldn’t get it to work for me.)

The fact is, Neville Goddard came from a loving family and had a pleasant childhood growing up in Barbados. He said that his mother instilled a sense of self-worth in him. So, therefore Neville likely had a high self-concept. This is probably one of the reasons conscious manifesting came easy to him.

Some of his students likely didn’t enjoy a loving childhood or a high sense of self-worth. That may have been why they couldn’t get the law to work in their favour.

Based on my own experiences with revision, I suspect revising their long-term past could have been the missing link for some of them. (However, Neville didn’t start lecturing about revision and how to do it until later in his career as a Law of Assumption teacher, so perhaps some of these people missed out on the opportunity to revise.)

Here are some ideas on how to use revision to consciously manifest more of what you want

    • Take the ACEs quiz for childhood trauma and then revise any ACEs that came up for you
    • For better finances, revise your childhood so that you grew up wealthy — Missy Renee talked about revising her childhood (she grew up in poverty) to one of abundance. She said that after she did this, her poor family became very wealthy, in actual 3D reality
    • For better health, revise any childhood illnesses
    • If you are struggling with your health and you experienced childhood trauma or abuse/neglect in childhood, revise those events. Studies show that having experienced a lot of childhood trauma is associated with poor health later in life. By revising, you might remove the effect those traumas are having on your health
    • If you have a health problem, revise the diagnosis and imagine the doctor telling you they made a mistake and you don’t have the illness
    • If you are struggling with money, revise any events where you struggled with money in the past, for example any bankruptcies or a bad credit score
    • To manifest an ex back or a new relationship, revise any past relationships that went wrong, and take a look at the childhood events that may have screwed up your love life in the past. Events from childhood often repeat. For example, if you were betrayed in childhood and had an untrustworthy caregiver, you will often choose an untrustworthy partner. If your caregiver was violent, you will often end up with a violent partner. If your caregiver or a sibling rejected you and turned away from your attempts to connect, you will often experience rejection in romantic relationships.

If you know you had a rough childhood but you lack clarity about the events that negatively affected you, therapy may be helpful for you before you revise.

If you’re going to revise lots of memories from your long term past, revising chronologically is better

I wrote out a list of memories I wanted to revise, then put each one on a separate paper. Then I ordered them chronologically and revised them in order. I’m a professional intuitive and my Spirit Guides told me to do it this way. Their reasoning was that if you revise earlier stuff first, it ‘loosens’ the later memories in your subconscious mind.

Here are some of the disadvantages of revision, that you should bear in mind when using this technique

    1. Revision can be hard and tiring, and it is stressful going over difficult past memories

Many people do not want to revisit the past. I get it — I was the same. I found revision somewhat stressful and painful, emotionally speaking.

Therefore, you shouldn’t do revision if you’re going through some really bad stuff in your life and you’re not emotionally stable. You definitely shouldn’t do it if you’re in crisis. It requires inner resources and is best done when you’re in a stable situation.

If you choose to do a lot of revision, you should also pace yourself.

Don’t do what I did and revise 100 memories in 2-3 weeks. That’s way too much and resulted in negative short-term consequences for me, such as complete emotional exhaustion. You need time to integrate the shifts that come with revision so I personally would restrict revision to a few memories per day.

Dr Joe Dispenza says that the body is the subconscious mind — it reflects perfectly what is in your subconscious. Your body actually needs time to integrate the new story of your past memory once you’ve revised it. So, make sure you pace yourself to give your body time to catch up. If you do too much revision in a short period of time, you could find that you develop temporary physical symptoms while your body struggles to integrate the work you’re doing.

Using yoga or body-based healing modalities (such as massage therapy or Craniosacral therapy) after revising can also be really helpful to help integrate the revised story into your body, and allow it to ‘catch up’ to your new story as quickly as possible.

    2. Revision is an advanced technique

Not everyone who needs to revise is ready for it for these reasons:

Firstly, it requires some level of belief — if you’re new to the LOA and not sure you believe in it, you’re not ready for revision. You need to test the Law instead and prove to yourself that it exists, then come back to revision once you feel more confident that you have the ability to change your past.

Secondly, in order to revise effectively, you need experience in getting into a meditative state and visualising — if you have no experience of SATS, you should do at least 3 weeks of SATS before using revision.

    3. You may need to do a fair amount of revision in order to create change in a significant life pattern

This technique can require quite a bit of work…

…As an example, let’s say that you are always rejected in romantic relationships (maybe your partners have all ended up leaving you or cheating on you.) If you want to use revision to change this pattern, I don’t believe it will help to just revise the last time a partner left you. For this scenario, I’d make a list of all rejections and include:

    • All the times you were rejected in childhood or adolescence by caregivers, siblings or peers (because for this to still be happening in your adult life, you can absolutely be sure that someone taught you in your formative years that you are “second best”.)
    • All the times you were rejected by potential partners
    • All the times you were rejected (left, cheated on, etc) by partners.

Then I’d revise the lot, starting with the earlier memories.

I don’t believe we can always see change in a life pattern from just revising one past scenario. Instead, I believe we often need to go right back to the root and then making a comprehensive list of everything that stemmed from that — and revise it all. It may take some time, but in my experience, it is so worth it.

And if you don’t have the time/energy to revise everything, go back to the root cause (the earliest memories or memory) and revise those. That will yield the biggest benefits, in my experience. I’ve only completed 40% of the revision I would like to do (I have around 250 memories), but my guides told me I’ve already experienced 80% of the total benefits that I can experience from revision because I’ve revised the memories from the first 17 years of my life (aka the root causes). So, this means that revising the earliest memories is going to give you the biggest bang for your buck, energetically speaking.

Just one more tip for revising:

Make sure that the new memory you choose to over-write the old one, is realistic enough

Personally, when I was revising my 100+ memories, one of the main themes I saw for revision that didn’t work, was that I sometimes used unrealistic memories.

I’ll give you an example. When I was 17 I went to Switzerland to work in a hotel during the summer, to help me to learn French. The hotel was a bit isolated and the woman who owned and ran it was a bully. I spent 2 awful months there, and I felt isolated and was bullied by this woman.

First of all, I revised this memory so that the woman was a really good person. But the memory wouldn’t stick at all and the revision didn’t work. My subconscious mind just wouldn’t accept that she was a nice person. I looped it so many times, but it didn’t work.

In the end, I had to revise it so that she was horrible but I left and went home on the day I realised that. In the memory, I saw myself leaving early on, with a sense of respect for myself and feeling empowered. That was what I needed. My subconscious mind accepted this memory with no problems and I only had to loop it a few times.

So, when revising a memory, if it’s not working, check that your memory is realistic enough. If your revised memory takes place in an ideal world where everyone is wonderful and everything is great, the subconscious mind may not be convinced enough for the revision to stick. So, sometimes instead of making the revised memory 100% ideal, you may need to just make it good enough, so that any harm that did happen to you, no longer happened in the revised memory.

    Does revision change the past?

I believe there is no past, just as there is no future. Time is a clever illusion. You are not moving through life in a linear fashion, as you think you are. Instead you are moving through a variety of states and it’s all happening at once.

Therefore, the past only exists in your memory. You change it, and you change you, when you revise. Studies show that we alter our memories every time we bring them to mind anyway. Why not alter them in your favour?

    Further Resources for Revision:

And finally, let’s look at what Neville said about revision in his book, the Law and the Promise:

“Nothing stands between you and the fulfillment of your dreams but facts — and facts are the creations of imagining. If you change your imagining, you will change the facts.

Man and his past are one continuous structure. This structure contains all of the facts which have been conserved and still operate below the threshold of his surface mind. For him it is merely history. For him it seems unalterable — a dead and firmly fixed past. But for itself, it is living — it is part of the living age.

He cannot leave behind him the mistakes of the past, for nothing disappears. Everything that has been is still in existence. The past still exists, and it gives — and still gives — its results. Man must go back in memory, seek for and destroy the causes of evil, however far back they lie. This going into the past and replaying a scene of the past in imagination as it ought to have been played the first time, I call revision — and revision results in repeal.

Changing your life means changing the past.

The causes of any present evil are the unrevised scenes of the past.

The past and the present form the whole structure of man; they are carrying all of its contents with it. Any alteration of content will result in an alteration in the present and future.

Live nobly — so that mind can store a past well worthy of recall. Should you fail to do so, remember, the first act of correction or cure is always — “revise.”

Disclaimer before you begin reading: The thing not many manifesting teachers (often because they have something to sell you) will tell you is that most SP’s don’t get manifested. Not all SPs can be manifested in a timely way because not every couple is a good fit and fundamental compatibility tends not to be something that is subject to quick change. Some SPs do get manifested, but most people raise their self-concept and then decide they don’t want their SP.

So, it’s best to view the whole SP manifesting project as being about “this or something better” and improving your own self-concept primarily. Manifesting an SP can be a powerful catalyst for changing your life if you go about it the right way.

I know some of you will click away after reading this, but I don’t care. I have nothing SP-related to sell you. I’m simply sharing what I know to be true through my own experience.

    OK, let’s get into it…

Do you just want to manifest your SP, or do you want to manifest them and keep them, too?

Most information on the internet teaches you how to manifest an SP but doesn’t teach you to keep them. (Some successful SP manifestors lose their SP later on!)

This article will teach you how to manifest an SP AND maintain the relationship, so you set yourself up for success from the get-go.

This guide is very comprehensive and long (over 5000 words long).

    My experience with manifesting SP’s

I like to experiment with Law of Assumption concepts that I’ve come across, and when I read that Neville Goddard manifested his wife as an SP, I decided to put his teachings to the test and manifest an SP for myself.

I wanted to do this not just for my own benefit but also so I could (1) test the limits of the Law of Assumption and EIYPO, (2) form an opinion on the topic, and (3) gain some experience that might help future readers and clients.

Long short story, I learned through my own experience that yes, it is possible for some people to manifest an SP, and yes, people reflect your self-concept.

So, this post is the product of experience in my own manifesting process, and also a product of much research.

Many people learn about the Law of Assumption when they want to get an ex back or feel a strong need to have another person in their life.

This strong need to have the SP back can really trip people up when it comes to manifesting, and creates too much attachment. (This is in fact the main reason why most people do not manifest their SP.) In this post, I’ll talk about how you can get around this pothole in the road to manifesting your SP.

The other thing that complicates SP manifesting is that not everyone is alike, and I have found that different people need different manifesting strategies, based on their attachment style, relationship history and childhood.

The 3 categories of SP manifestor

Based on my work with coaching clients, my own experiences and listening to the experiences of content creators who successfully manifested and kept an SP, I believe that people fall into 3 categories with SP manifesting and need different strategies based on which one they fall into.

Category 1 people have a secure attachment style, don’t have childhood trauma, and have a good relationship with caregivers and family. They have a low ACE score (less than 1 or 2.) They can focus more on manifesting SP and don’t need such extensive self-concept work. They often manifest their SP quickly.

Category 2 people are people who have an anxious, avoidant or disorganised attachment style. They have had childhood trauma – sometimes extensive trauma, neglect and abuse. They usually have an ACE score of at least 4. Sometimes they haven’t had extensive trauma but just an event that caused an attachment wound with a caregiver.

Category 3 people are somewhere in the middle between those 2 extremes. Maybe they had significant childhood trauma or maybe their parents had a bad relationship between themselves and they never saw healthy love being modelled for them, but they also had a good relationship with one or both parents and ended up with a mostly secure attachment style.

You can read about attachment wounds here.

If you don’t know your attachment style, go do a quiz and then come back to this post so you know which category you fit into.

These 3 categories need different approaches when it comes to manifesting an SP.

The majority of people who manifest an SP fall into category 2 so that’s the category I’m going to focus on for this article. I also discuss category 1 and category 3 people at the end of this article, so you can scroll to the end if you fall into that category.

Why self concept is the key to manifesting SP

Category 2 people need extensive self concept work to manifest an SP, and they need to take the focus off SP temporarily.

The reason why you don’t have your SP (as a category 2 person) is because your self concept isn’t at all that of someone who is happily partnered.

You may be a loving, lovely person in your relationships, but you are not consistently embodying love, worthiness or self-love in your state (your state consists of your thoughts, emotions, moods, beliefs, assumptions, and above all, your self-concept.)

If you’re going to manifest an SP using the Law of Assumption, you need to go back to basics and look at what Neville’s ideas really were.

    He said:

“Change your conception of yourself and you will automatically change the world in which you live. Do not try to change people; they are only messengers telling you who you are. Revalue yourself and they will confirm the change.”

Therefore, manifesting an SP is about self-concept. It’s about changing you and revaluing you. It’s not about changing your SP or your 3D world.

Read that sentence again, because it’s really important.

To manifest an SP as a category 2 person, you need to take the focus off SP and put it back on you.

If you don’t get this concept and apply it, you will probably fail to manifest your SP and you will most definitely fail to keep your SP.

What many people who are manifesting an SP do is they are affirming and visualising for SP exclusively. They are after a quick fix. They want their SP back but expect everything else about their life to stay the same. That’s not how it works for category 2 people. If you’re a category 2 person, you have to go on a journey of change.

You also have to accept that this journey isn’t really about SP. The way they are currently showing up in your life (or not) is just a side effect of who you are being.

(If you don’t agree with this, go back and read Neville’s Complete Reader. In his work, he has many examples and stories which illustrate this concept beautifully.)

    This journey is about you.

When you desire something in the 3D, it’s because your soul is asking you to embody the state of being, that you think the desire will induce in you.

If you desire a loving relationship with an SP, your soul is essentially asking you to embody the state of love, worthiness, self-love and become that. If you succeed in reaching that state and maintaining it, you will manifest your SP as a side effect of that state.

If you strive after getting SP in a needy way and focus on them, the state that successfully manifests your SP and maintains a healthy relationship with them, will continue to elude you.

Here are my steps to embodying the state you need to embody, in order to manifest SP:

    1. Find out your attachment style, and create affirmations based on that

If you’re anxiously attached, list out the features of that attachment style that you agree with, in terms of how you’re behaving and feeling in relationships, then flip them around to create an affirmation that targets your particular wounds.

For example, if you’re anxiously attached and the info on anxious attachment style that you read says you feel undeserving of love and often seek out avoidantly attached people, say the affirmations:

I deserve a warm and responsive partner

I deserve to receive so much in love.

If you’re avoidantly attached, say the affirmation:

I am comfortable being close to others.

If you find out your attachment style and do detailed research into the features of your attachment style, you can create a whole set of affirmations that target your attachment wounds.

Then you need to say them everyday (sometimes for weeks or months) until they become part of your new story.

    2. Next, look into your childhood history and your relationship history to find out what your subconscious unfavourable assumptions are about love and relationships

Not only do you need to target your attachment style in your affirmations, but you also need to target your childhood and relationship history.

This article goes into depth on how to do that.

This is something I do in my coaching sessions with people, but I’ve got a long wait list and no longer accepting applications. However, you don’t need a coach to do this. You just need to get really honest with yourself and look at where your life has gone wrong, with no shame, and no blame.

For example, if you had an abusive parent and a subconscious belief that if you get into a relationship, you will be abused, then you need to create affirmations that say the opposite of that.

For example, you will need to affirm:

I am always safe in relationships

My heart is cherished and protected in my relationship.

Check out the article to complete that step.

    3. Make it easy to ignore the 3D

I personally feel that it’s even harder to manifest an SP when they’re in your face and not giving you what you want…because you’re going to keep reacting to the 3D, which delays your manifestation.

Let’s say that you’re in a ‘friends with benefits’ relationship with someone and it’s painful because you want a real, committed relationship with them but they don’t. When you meet up, you feel triggered afterwards and wonder “why don’t they want me?”

I believe in those situations it’s best to set a boundary and say no to what you don’t want, and explain what you want. Then go no contact temporarily and do your self-concept work.

This won’t screw your manifestation up, in fact it will do the opposite.

If you can’t state what you want or set a boundary with your SP, repeat these affirmations:

I deserve to receive so much in love

I deserve to have my needs met

It is safe to state my needs and set a boundary

And if you’re in no contact with SP, that is a blessing and the best place to manifest your SP from.

Don’t look at their social media and ideally remove any access you have to them in terms of what is going on in their life, so that you’re not reacting to it. I’m not saying block them, but just remove yourself from what is going on in their life if you can.

More on ignoring the 3D here.

    4. Focus only on self-concept and making your energy field beautiful initially

Your self-concept is a collection of concepts and beliefs you have about yourself.

(And your energy field is the energetic reflection of your self-concept and a reflection of how much the universal energies of love, abundance, power, safety and peace are freely running through your energy field and making you attractive to others.)

Remember that Neville Goddard teaches that if you want a different outcome in your life, you have to change you and your self-concept.

Here’s how you work on self-concept:

    • Affirm for your self-concept in love, especially targeted affirmations that contradict your attachment wounds and past experiences
    • Remember who you really are. Improving your self concept isn’t about becoming someone new, it’s about going back to your God state – the soul you were when you came into this life and before you had any negative experiences which taught you limiting beliefs about yourself. Who is that soul? A powerful, loving, worthy, secure being. Using affirmations will help you get back to that state, but it also helps to remember: this is who you have always been. This is who you are! If you persist in this process, you will eventually revert back to your God state and live from that, not just when it comes to your SP, but as a way of life.
    • Do guided self-love meditations. People say you don’t need self-love to manifest an SP, and they’re right. But you do need self-love to keep an SP.

You can find guided self-love meditations on YouTube. Agnes Vivarelli is a good resource for that. Joe Dispenza has a love meditation that helps you to embody the state of love.

    • Start meditating in general and make it a daily practice — any kind of regular meditation will make your state and energy field more beautiful. I have a lovely chakra meditation here that will make your energy field more attractive if you do it regularly
    • Revise, revise, revise. I should have put this step at the top of this article because it is the most important thing for you to do to manifest your SP. Neville Goddard, in his lecture The Pruning Shears of Revision said that if you only take one thing from his work, it should be revision. You need to make a list of any negative experiences you have had in your life which could have caused you to have a poor self-concept. Take the ACEs test and if you answered yes to any of those questions, revise whatever you said yes to from your childhood. (If you had a high ACE score but you thought your childhood was OK, you need to go into therapy.) You could also revise any past relationships that didn’t end well and any event which has given you a limiting belief about who you are. You could revise any interactions with your SP that didn’t go as you wanted. I wrote an article on revision and how to do it, and you can find that here.
    • Do inner child work, or parts work with an internal family systems therapist. If you have a wounded inner child (which you may do if you fall into category 2) and you aren’t paying attention to your inner child and you’re not showing up for them, that negatively affects your self-love and self-concept. This is also big for category 2 manifestors. SP can’t show up for you when you’re not showing up for your most vulnerable inner parts (aka your inner child.)
    • A disembodied state is unattractive. If you have struggled with C-PTSD and you are in the habit of dissociating often, make it a priority to work on that…

Meditation can help with dissociation (doing Joe Dispenza’s long – 45 or 60 mins – guided meditations daily can help.) Therapies like body-centred psychotherapy, Hakomi and somatic experiencing will also help with dissociation.

The kind of self-concept work mentioned above will make you more beautiful and attractive to SP and everyone else. It will also remove the attachment to them and make it easier for the SP manifestation to come in, precisely because you’re less attached.

And you’ll know when you have done enough self-concept work when you don’t feel as attached to SP anymore (you might not even want them by the time you’re done with this process), and you feel good about yourself and good in your life in general.

I’ve got a story for you on the importance of self-love, self-concept and maintaining a lovely energetic state.

A reader of mine who is manifesting an SP and has a long-time preoccupation with looks suggested he can’t manifest an SP because of his looks.

I told him the following story to illustrate that manifesting an SP isn’t about looks. All circumstances, including looks, are irrelevant. The only thing that matters is self-concept and your energy field (which is the energetic manifestation of self-concept and how well you’re taking care of yourself).

I am also telling this story in this article because it illustrates the importance of self-concept and self-love work.

I’ve had a lot of trauma in my past and have embodied a variety of states at different times. I’ve had times when I’ve been all dolled up to go out and looking really good, and all heads turn to look at me when I walk into a room and people fall all over themselves to talk to me. The times when that happens is when I am embodying a beautiful state, feeling good about myself and life, and have had several weeks of doing my self-concept work, meditations and self-love.

I’ve also had times where I’m all dolled up in exactly the same way and looking great, and no-one looks at me and I’m invisible, and I don’t feel welcomed in the space I’m going into, to the point where I feel rejected. That happens when I’m embodying an undesirable state and alienated from the Divine energy within me, usually if something bad has happened to me, that affects how I feel about myself and I’m knocked off centre.

In both situations, I look the same. But the difference between the two experiences is like night and day. I’m carrying myself differently unconsciously, my lack of confidence in that moment is shining through and quite simply, my energy is telling people not to look at me so people can’t see me.

If you have a high self-concept and you feel worthy, and you’re not bogged down by the past, your energy field will be beautiful and other people will notice you and find you attractive, including your SP (regardless of how you look!)

If you have a poor self-concept, feel unworthy or your energy is disturbed by something such as a trauma and/or you’re dissociated, your energy field will not be beautiful and you won’t be as attractive to SP.

    5. Stop the energetic chasing

SP receives your every thought about them and yourself, on an unconscious level. The thoughts they’re having about you unconsciously create their feelings about you, and these thoughts come from what you’re thinking, feeling and saying about them.

When you’re thinking about them all day, affirming for them, or visualising an outcome with them, energetically you’re keeping them company to some degree. They will feel your energy, most likely on a subconscious level. If you’re doing this a lot, they won’t miss you as much; they may feel quite pressured, and if your self-concept is low, they will also feel repelled because you won’t leave them alone and your energy doesn’t feel that great.

If you’re a category 2 SP manifester, it’s much better to raise your self-concept and self-love first. Then and only then, in my opinion, should you affirm and visualise for SP.

While we’re on the topic of energetic chasing, in my opinion, many of the people who teach SP manifesting have it all wrong. This is something I have concluded based on my own journey with SP manifesting, and in helping others.

Many of the people who are wanting to manifest an SP are trying to GET something in the outside world, by focusing on it in their internal world. The average SP manifester is affirming or visualising for their SP while remaining in a place of lack and sometimes obsession. That manifester feels that if their SP just came back, they would be OK and have what they want.

The problem with this is that the essence of Neville Goddard’s teachings is that you can have what you want in the external world, if you give it to yourself first.

    You want love from SP.

You probably want attention from your SP.

Therefore, you have to find love on the inside. You have to put yourself into a state of love. You have to attend to yourself.

If you’re going to manifest or attract your SP back, you need to change your state and who you are being. Right now, if you’re an SP manifester, you aren’t in the right state to attract your person back. You’re not being a happily partnered person who is secure in their relationship and feeling loved. Most SP manifesters are in a state of dependency on their SP. That SP is the source of love, attention, validation, or whatever.

How do you know if you are in a state of dependency on SP? Here are some signs:

    • You often think about them throughout the day
    • You really, really want them to come back
    • You can’t imagine your life without them
    • You are doing SATs and affirmations to get them back, and your visualisations revolve around SP
    • You spend a lot of time watching YouTube videos and content geared towards getting them back
    • You obsessively read SP manifesting success stories
    • You are checking the 3D…waiting for a text message or a phone call
    • You are messing with the 3D – trying to find ways to give your SP an opportunity to see you or notice you
    • You’re looking at their social media
    • You’re consulting psychics to find out if your person is going to come back
    • You’re watching Tarot Youtube readings to see whether they are going to come back
    • You read their horoscope to see what is coming up for them and whether they are going to come back
    • Them leaving you or you being rejected by them traumatised you
    • You’re in a state of limerence
    • They are the solution to your loneliness
    • You don’t feel great about yourself or your life, and deep down you feel this person coming back would solve certain problems for you and make you feel OK.

If you said yes to 2 or more of the above, you’re in a state of dependency on your SP.

But you cannot attract someone back into a healthy relationship from that state. To attract someone back and be attractive to that person, you need to be in a state of love and emotional security. You need to feel loved and think loving thoughts. You need to know that you are love. You also need not to depend on your person for your emotional security or love. If you’re manifesting for a person to give you that emotional security, you will fail to have a healthy relationship with them.

Love is not dependency. It’s not obsession. It’s not manifesting someone to be obsessed with us, either.

Healthy and long-lasting relationships do not arise from that place.

Something interesting to note is that the teachers in the SP community who teach others how to have an SP who is obsessed with them and focus on manifesting obsessive love and being worshipped and getting “princess treatment”, have not been able to create a long-lasting relationship with an SP themselves.

The SP teachers who are successful themselves are those who live in a state of love.

Healthy and long-lasting relationships arise in your 3D experience because you are in a state of love and you give the other person freedom to not be your source of love, validation and attention. That’s when relationships flourish and paradoxically, when you end up feeling loved by your SP.

This is why energetic chasing – thinking of someone a lot, affirming for them constantly, visualising for months or years on end, are a sign of a deeper problem – a dependency on your SP to feel OK and be your source of love in this world.

They are not your source of love – you are (if you believe in the Law of Assumption). You create everything that arises in your world.

(If you believe in the Law of Attraction instead of the Law of Assumption, then God/Source is your source of love.)

Either way, love comes from within and is found within. It doesn’t come from your SP. Your SP can only reflect your current state, whether that is feeling loved and wanted, or unloved and unwanted.

So, unhook yourself from the idea that this person you want, is a source of anything for you. Stop depending on them and needing them. Instead, learn to enter lovely states at will – states of love, of freedom, of fulfilment. Then you will no longer need them to come back. And that’s when the SP often comes back because you’ve stopped energetically harassing them and repelling them with your need.

You can learn to enter these wonderful states at will by either affirming feelingly or by doing SATS and visualising for all kinds of lovely things that you’d like to see in your 3D world. Visualise for wealth, abundance and freedom. Visualise for excellent health and the resolution of health issues, if you have any ailments. Write out what your dreams are in this life and visualise for those (but make sure that if you are dependent on SP at this stage, don’t include anything connected to SP in your SATS – you need to lose the obsession first). Use my SATS method explained in the article linked above to bring the positive energies you’re seeking into your body and energy field.

This is the God’s honest truth that hardly any SP teachers out there will tell you, simply because either they haven’t realised, or they realised but they don’t care because your obsession is making them money. Your energetic chasing and obsession are a sign that you’re too attached to SP. You need to let that go.

You can also find more food for thought on this concept of SP “energetic chasing” here.

Often people reject this concept initially because they’re dependent on their SP but don’t want to give that dependency up. They refuse to accept it as a possibility until they’ve burned themselves out on months of SP manifesting and they’re ready to give up.

If you’re rejecting this concept and feeling some resistance towards what I’m saying, why not bookmark this article and come back to it in a few months, to see if it might have value for you later.

    6. Put the focus on other areas of life, too

When you’re focusing too much on your SP, you’re abandoning yourself.

Why are you so focused on someone who hasn’t chosen you?

I’m not asking that from a place of judgment, but from understanding that many people desperately want an SP because they’re unhappy in general.

Please go back to not only focusing on your self-concept but also on your own life, if you feel it is lacking in general.

If you’re unhappy with some area of your life, work on that, too.

Some SP manifestors are not happy in their lives overall and they’re looking to SP to make it better.

    • If you have health problems, focus on health.
    • If you’re unhappy in your job or broke, focus on a new job and money.

This will also lift your self-concept in other areas and will mean you have a life you enjoy when SP comes back.

    7. Collect self concept affirmations and dowse on which ones to use, and for how long

    Instructions on that here.

How long does self concept work take if you’re a category 2 manifestor?

Sometimes it takes a few months or many months of daily work, especially if you had a traumatic childhood.

Feel free to skip it, but in that situation you either won’t manifest your SP or you will, but they will leave you. Or you will get them back and it will become a toxic relationship.

So, in summary for category 2 people:

This work is not about getting an SP even when you are trying to get an SP — it’s about changing yourself by remembering who you are, loving yourself and embodying that in your state. The SP shows up as a side effect of that.

If you’re a category 2 manifestor, I’d say do 100% or 95% self concept work and no SP manifesting or only 5% of your work should be SP affirmations/visualisations. Personally I wouldn’t even do 5% SP manifesting…I’d completely leave the SP alone.

Then come back to SP manifesting when you have experienced a real shift in your self-concept and you have revised your life, any failed past relationships and everything that didn’t go to plan with SP.

Letting SP go like this is so powerful. It constitutes removing your energy from them, and then once your self concept improves, they feel it and start to miss you and see your value.

    Category 1 people

    If you’re a category 1 SP manifester:

Look at point 5 above, where I talk about energetic chasing and obsession with an SP. If you have any degree of emotional dependency on SP, do not spend all your creative energy manifesting for SP, instead focus at least 75 + % on improving your self-concept and getting into a state of love on a daily basis.

    For the 25% SP work:

Do SATs which is a scene for being with your SP. Affirm for the relationship, feelingly or robotically.

Also, write a list of how you want your SP to show up for you, and then affirm for that.

Look at the reason why the relationship ended in the first place, turn that around and affirm for that (also remember to revise your past interactions with SP that didn’t go as you wanted, as well as any failed past relationships.)

For example, if your relationship ended because your SP moved across the country, say to yourself:

SP doesn’t want to live without me

SP wants to commit to me

We are meant to be together and SP is realising that.

(This is also the work that category 2 manifesters can do, once they have done extensive self concept work, no longer feel the strong desire for SP and start feeling really good about themselves and their life.)

Don’t do this long term – only do it until you know 100% that you have reached the Sabbath and it is done, then remove your energy from SP so they have a chance to miss you. Once you reach the Sabbath with your desire, you are ‘pregnant’ (as Neville Goddard put it) with that desire, and all you need to do is wait for it to gestate, and ensure you don’t come out of the Sabbath.

Also remember to keep a mental diet throughout.

Here are 2 articles on mental diet that you should read:

If you’re a category 1 manifester but you have no dependency on SP to be your source of love, have at it with the SP affirmations and visualisations but also make sure you do 20-30% self-concept work (see the recommendations above and choose the ones that resonate with you) and the rest should be SP manifesting.

If you don’t fit completely into category 1 or 2, but you’re somewhere in between…

You’re category 3 and you should combine category 2 self-concept work with category 1 SP manifesting work.

For example, do 50-70% self-concept work and 30-50% SP manifesting work. The more category 2 features you resonated with and adverse childhood experiences you experienced…(here’s a quiz to find out) the more you should be focusing on self-concept and taking the focus off SP.

If you had bad childhood experiences or bad past relationships as a category 3 person, you should also explore your subconscious unfavourable stories about yourself and love, and affirm against them, and you should revise your past.

Again, take into account the very important point #5 about energetic chasing – this applies to everyone who is manifesting an SP.

Phew. That’s it. I hope you found this post helpful and not too overwhelming. It contains probably weeks or months of inner work so don’t feel like you have to do it all in one day.

  • How to Stop Attracting Mr/Ms Wrong

How to Stop Attracting Mr/Ms Wrong

When clients have booked a reading with me in the past, it was often because they really wanted to find their ideal match but kept attracting Mr/Ms Wrong over and over again.

The work that we do together invariably focuses on the client’s default patterns of attraction. A client may tell me that they’re wanting a relationship that is X, Y and Z, but I tend to uncover some unconscious patterns of attraction in these readings which show that the client is attracting the opposite of what they say they want.

So, this article focuses on unconscious patterns of attraction in relationships, how you can recognize them and how you can clear them to bring in the new. Really all it takes is a genuine desire to create something different, a good look at your past and the conviction that you’re worthy of your desires.

Looking to your past for the answers

It’s kind of a common scenario isn’t it? People who attract the same kind of partner again and again. I used to be a pro at attracting men who were terrified of long-term relationships. I have a friend who attracts a lot of men who are self-destructive in some significant way. It seems uncanny how the same kind of partner or potential partner shows up again and again. It’s not a coincidence – there is a reason for it.

If it seems you’re unable to attract the relationship you want, you may have an old relationship story that no longer suits you, which needs clearing to make way for the new. Your old relationship story consists of one or more default patterns of attraction in relationships. A default pattern of attraction means that you attract a certain undesirable trait/qualities (or set of traits) over and over, without being conscious of it.

Your default patterns of attraction can have their origins in previous relationships or they can be learned from your parents, family or from society. And because like attracts like, once you start putting energy behind that default pattern of attraction (like when people complain that they only ever seem to attract the same types), it takes root, becomes reinforced and this makes it harder to break out of.

Becoming conscious of your own old relationship story

A really simple way to become conscious of your patterns of attraction in relationships is to list all your past relationships – however short or long – and see what the common trait(s) are.

I’m talking about the common traits which caused the end of the relationship or some conflict in the relationship. It may be a trait in either you or in your previous partner. You may see more than one common trait. For example, you may see among all your partners that they lacked commitment to you. You could see the pattern that you made projects of your partners and tried to change them. It could be that you have mostly dated people who were controlling.

Once you identify what you are attracting that you no longer want, you can clear it. You could tell yourself that you don’t need to take ownership of what you have attracted into your life in the past. However, the more responsibility you can take for your past relationships, the more you can learn from them.

Why we must learn from past relationships in order to move on from them

The universe has an uncanny way of matching us up with the right person who can show us where there is an imbalance in our way of being. For example, the angry person often ends up with the scaredy cat who can’t stand up to them. We attract people who teach us a lesson we need to learn. Sometimes those lessons are the most painful. If you’re the type who attracts angry people, ask yourself why this is. It could be that you need to practise setting boundaries. It could be that you grew up around angry people and never learned how to deal with them, and the universe is sending you another chance. If you are always attracting partners who need your help and rely on you too much, maybe it’s a call for you to heal your desire to change and make projects of other people.

Recognizing the lessons from our past is a healing process in itself. I learned in my cord-cutting training back in 2010 that you cannot cut an energetic cord to a previous partner until you know what the toxic patterns are contained within the cord and where they came from in the first place. I believe it’s the same with our experiences. If you don’t learn the lessons from your past relationships and see what they were showing you, life will continue to hit you over the head with the same experiences until you do.

    Bring in the new

If you’re letting go of what you don’t want – begin to focus on what you do want. Make a new list of desirable traits that you’re seeking in a partner (a list of non-negotiables). Some examples are: must have a sense of humour, must be financially solvent, kindness, willingness to commit, etc.

Get really clear on what you want. If you’ve experienced many unsatisfactory relationships, you probably already have an idea of what you do want, because you have experienced the opposite and that helps you to get clear on what you do want.

Next, look at your list of non-negotiables. Ask yourself whether you would date yourself. Do you have the traits on your list? For example, are you asking for a financially solvent partner when you’re broke? If so, you may be asking someone to rescue you.

A few months back I chatted with someone who was struggling with her finances, and she told me she was trying to meet a new partner and thought it would be nice to have a wealthy partner to help her in her finances. She met a broke guy. He also wanted to manifest a wealthy partner, and she showed up.

If there are some things in your list which you don’t embody, then commit to working on these as part of your process of attracting the ideal mate. Finding your ideal partner really does start from within. And it’s not about becoming perfect so that you can attract a perfect mate, it’s about becoming conscious of, and eradicating the parts of you which attract undesirable traits by default. Once you change from inside, the rest of the world shifts in response to the new you, including the relationships which come your way.

Did you know that cord cutting is an excellent way to change yourself from the inside out, and get a new relationship story?

I offer a professional training in cord cutting here.

And you can read more about my experiences with cord cutting here.

  • Spirit Guides & How to Work With Them

Spirit Guides & How to Work With Them

We are all blessed with Spirit Guides who surround us and support us. We usually have between four and seven guides in our inner circle. Our primary Spirit Guide is with us from birth. The rest of the guides tend to join our Spirit Guide team throughout childhood, teenage years and early twenties. Their assistance can be practical or spiritual in nature.

Here are some tips for getting to know your guides and working with them:

Know What Spirit Guides Can Help You With

We all go through the veil of amnesia when we incarnate. Most of us forget who we are as souls, where we’ve come from and what the heck we’re doing here. Spirit Guides know that it is challenging to be incarnated here at Earth school AND keep a connection to your higher self and your soul’s purpose.

The role of your guides is to gently but consistently guide you via intuitive nudges to stay on track with your soul’s purpose. In addition, if something is in your purpose to accomplish, you will find support from your Spirit Guides in that endeavour. They will hook you up with resources, people, money or books to help you reach your goals. They can offer insight and comfort when you feel lost.

But there is one important condition to the help they can give us and this condition serves us:

Your Spirit Guides will only help you to accomplish and achieve things that honour the purpose that YOU set for yourself before you incarnated.

I personally know it is not in my soul’s purpose to win a million pounds on the lottery. I don’t have a project to accomplish at this time in my life that requires that kind of money. Instead, I know I would benefit from the growth I would experience in utilizing my talents to tap into abundance. So if I asked my Spirit Guides to help me win the lottery, I’m pretty certain they wouldn’t oblige.

I also have a friend who wanted his guides to help him win betting on racing dogs! The guides really weren’t interested in helping him, for the same reason mine wouldn’t help me win on the lottery.

How to Begin Enlisting the Help of Your Guides

Contrary to what you’d think, you don’t need to have really well developed psychic abilities to begin working with your Spirit Guides. You may not be able to perceive them at all times but your guides can certainly perceive you. You only need to set an intention and they will pick up on it. Address them out loud and they will hear you.

One way of setting your guides to work is to request their help with specific goals.

I have got into the habit of doing this automatically by writing down my goals for the coming week and month and I ask my guides for help in achieving each of my goals.

So here’s an example list of goals:

I would like X amount of money to decorate my new home

I would like to work with X number of clients next month

I’d like to spend more quality time with my partner

I’d like to be a more tolerant mother to my children and remain calm when they are acting out

I’d like more fun and laughter in my life

    Read this aloud:

“My Spirit Guides, my Spirit Guides, my Spirit Guides, I request your assistance in achieving the following goals, provided these goals are aligned with my highest path and purpose and in the highest good of all. Please impulse me so that I can recognize assistance and opportunities when they manifest. Thank you, thank you, thank you.”

Why do you have to do this? Surely guides should already know where and when they could provide assistance? In fact, your guides will not intervene until you ask them to because to do so would violate your free will. This is why consciously enlisting their help is powerful.

Your Spirit Guides work to help you manifest your desires into the physical, often in ingenious ways! I recently realized that I have a particular guide who connects me with the clients who could benefit from a session with me. Clients often report being prompted to get a reading with me in their dreams.

It’s not usually a good idea to ask for assistance to come to you in a very specific format. The wrong way to do it would be to say ‘please send more overtime work my way so that I can pay off my mortgage’.

    Instead, say:

‘I would like to pay off X% of my mortgage by the end of the year, please hook me up with the resources and opportunities to make this happen’.

Be open ended and the Universe will send you the resources you need in ingenious and creative ways. If you are attached to receiving help through a particular channel, you may miss or discard the help that shows up in other ways.

According to the above list, you could be gifted with some money to decorate your home or be offered second-hand items for your new home. You might get invited to a party or meet a new friend who is fun and makes you laugh. You may come across a book about conscious parenting to help you with raising your children. There are so many possibilities! Be open to them all by seeing the opportunity in every experience that comes your way.

    Get to Know your Guides

Do you know what you guides’ names are? What they look like? What they do on your team? It can be helpful to know a bit about your guides before you begin developing a close relationship with them. You wouldn’t begin a relationship with a real person without knowing their name and what they do! Make the first move in your relationship with your guides. If you’re stuck with that first step of finding out that information, find someone who can tell you so that you can begin to get to know them.

My relationship with my guides began when I had a reading with a psychic medium, who told me about my primary guide, who calls herself ‘The Raven’. Once the psychic told me how this guide was helping me in my life, I saw how she had been helping me all along. And I began to take my Spirit Guides more seriously and consciously enlisted their help.

Know How Your Spirit Guides Impulse You

To communicate with you, your Spirit Guides often choose the intuitive vehicle(s) that you’re most adept at using.

There are many intuitive gifts, but the basic five – clairvoyance, clairaudience, clairsentience, claircognizance and dreaming cover most possibilities.

If you’re more visual, your Spirit Guide may pop into your mind’s eye with a message or an image that means something to you. If you’re clairaudient, you may become aware of an inner voice speaking to you or lines from songs which appear in your head. Those who are claircognizant can have their guides sending information to them in the form of thoughts. I have very developed clairsentience and my guides impulse me with a funny tingling sensation on the side of my head. Once this happens, I know to listen carefully because a message usually comes through to me. They also impulse me with a cold, prickling sensation on my right thigh and the back of my calf. It makes me shiver and the hairs on that part of my leg stand on end!

Learn How to Distinguish Between Input from Guides and Input from Other Places

Guides have our best interests at heart. Their behaviour is very different from how an earthbound spirit would behave or how your ego would talk to you. Here are some key differences between how an earthbound spirit or your ego would treat you and how a Spirit Guide would treat you:

    • Guidance from guides will always be uplifting and will raise your consciousness. It will honour the truth that you are the conscious creator of your life. It will hold you responsible for your life. By contrast, low-vibrational earthbound spirits may encourage you to abdicate responsibility
    • Guides will not tell you what to do. They may recommend a course of action that aligns with your path, but they will ultimately leave it up to you
    • Guides obviously never get angry with you, or threaten. Guides do not deride or berate you. They are ever-patient and loving. Your guides may think you’re great but they won’t flatter your ego or encourage you to place yourself above others
    • Spirit Guides have faith in your ability to get through issues and negative circumstances. They will be there for you and show great compassion for you, but they won’t throw you a pity party.

Understand Your Spirit Guides’ Purpose & Background

Spirit Guides are not that different from us. Obviously they’re not in a body but most of them have experienced a physical incarnation so they know what it’s like. Many of them have evolved beyond the point where they need to incarnate here and instead they are pursuing the next stage of their soul’s journey in the capacity of Spirit Guide. Assisting you serves them on their path of evolution. It’s a win-win situation for everyone involved. They do love receiving gratitude for their work, so be sure to thank them.
