I teach students how to read the Akashic Records and access the information contained therein. This page answers a question I get asked sometimes: where does the information in my course actually come from?
How the information originated
Just a bit of info before I go into this:
In many other programs for reading the Akashic Records, what you get is a technique which allows you to access the records. Then you are taught to ask questions from there, and using your channelling ability, get them answered in the records. This is not what my program teaches people to do. Instead, it teaches all about the science of the soul, so that students have a framework to start from, and then it teaches how to ascertain which parts of what I taught, actually apply to yourself or a client.

The soul groups and Archangelic realms information that form the foundation of the Akashic Record readings that I teach, was originated by Arlen Bock, a mining engineer from Colorado, who channelled detailed information about soul groups and soul gifts through the Akashic Records. He uncovered the purposes and plans of the groups of souls coming to Earth, and through his investigation he gleaned detailed information about each soul family — their purpose, characteristics and particular challenges.
Arlen’s information was passed to Venessa Rahlston, who taught it through her Soul Genesis framework. From Venessa it passed to Mamie Wheeler, and also to Susann Taylor Shier.
From Mamie Wheeler, the information passed to Andrrea Hess, who structured it into an online certification course called Soul Realignment®, which she has been offering since 2006. I took Andrea’s course in 2007.
The body of work has been refined, tested, added to and subtracted from over time by all of these practitioners, and by me. There may be others in the lineage I’m not aware of.
What I learned from Andrea’s course
From Soul Realignment I learned the following:
- How to dowse accurately for Akashic Record readings
- The Archangelic realms of training
- Some soul groups
- A list of possible life lessons (with no descriptions or definitions)
- About some of the soul trainings between lifetimes
- How to clear negative influences in the Akashic Records (from past lives) to allow for easier manifestation of our desires
- Multiple common periods in history and religions that might come up in readings as part of the soul’s path in the past
- Basic information on secondary Godsparks
Andrea’s course gave me a valuable foundation and I am grateful for it. I am also grateful to Mamie, who passed what she had to Andrea, and to Arlen, Venessa and Susann for their work with this material.
Why I made my own course
Despite the value of what I learned, there were four aspects of Soul Realignment I could not continue to use or recommend to others.
#1: Ineffective Clearing Protocols
The clearing protocols — the method Soul Realignment teaches for clearing negative energy and past life blocks in the Akashic Records — I found to be of limited effectiveness for resolving significant karmic complexes. Clients were sometimes returning to tell me that not much had shifted. The protocols often seemed to clear downstream consequences of karmic complexes without getting to the root of the complex itself which in my experience does not yield the results clients are looking for — especially when they are trying to manifest a significant change. I wrote about this in detail here and here (the latter article goes into other problems with the clearing protocols in the first 3 points).
It took me 17 years to develop an alternative that I believe works better to clear past life blocks that interfere with manifesting — the Evolutionary Manifesting modality— and I did that largely through resolving significant karmic complexes in my own life and seeing others do the same.
#2: The ‘Negative Soul’ Concept
Soul Realignment also teaches that negative soul groups exist on this planet, and as a result some practitioners were telling clients — and their loved ones — that they were negative souls. I witnessed the harm this caused directly early in my career and I decided not to use that framework again. I wrote about my opinion on negative soul groups here.
#3: The Concept of the ‘Soul Vibration Rate’
I also disagree with the use of the soul vibration rate measurement taught in Soul Realignment, which the course teaches is a way to measure the soul’s evolution and has its origins in David Hawkins’ work. In my experience, the measurement was often not meaningful, was liable to change from one year to the next, and has been used in other spiritual communities (not necessarily the Soul Realignment one) as a tool for hierarchy and control.
#4: Firing Spirit Guides
I also disagreed with the teaching that Spirit Guides can be fired by a practitioner on a client’s behalf, which I wrote about here.
Although Soul Realignment had some interesting and helpful aspects to the course, I was no longer able to recommend it to others for the above reasons. This is why I made my own course teaching people to read the Akashic Records. I wanted to make a course that I would have liked to have had when I started out in my career so that I would not have to go through the long refining and development process that I have over many years.
What I have added to the body of work

In summary
The information taught in my Akashic Record Reading Program has a long and well-tested lineage.
If you are considering learning to read the Akashic Records with me, you are getting the benefit of that entire lineage — decades of testing and refinement by multiple practitioners — along with 18 years of my own development on top of it. You are also getting a body of work that has been honestly examined over a period of many years, with the (what I believe to be) less helpful or ineffective elements removed and the more abstract elements brought down to earth.
