In this post, I wanted to share some information about one of the biggest mistakes I see intuitives and healers making in their work.

Here’s the mistake I’m talking about:

Some psychics and healers don’t know which of the two realms to use for different types of work with clients. As spiritual paraprofessionals, we may do readings, cut cords, clear spaces, call on spiritual protection for ourselves and for others, and more.

There’s a lot we can do, and when we’re doing it, we need to make sure we’re working with the right type of spiritual being. That is what this article is all about.

If you work with the wrong type of spiritual being, you either end up channelling guidance that’s vague or you end up tired. And I see so many healers and psychics who find their work draining. If that’s you, read on…

The 2 Realms

The 2 realms that we work with as intuitive and healers are the astral realm and the divine realm.

The astral realm is the realm usually accessed by psychics. It is the realm of Spirit Guides, ancestors, and earthbound spirits.

The Divine realm is the realm usually accessed by mystics and religious people. It’s the realm of Archangels, Ascended Masters, and God.

The astral beings can help us with guidance.

The Divine beings can help us with healing, protection and clearing energy.

Here’s the most common mistake I see psychics and healers making in this area:

When they clear out energy in their space, ask for protection, or they do healing work of any description, they involve their Spirit Guides (AKA astral beings) instead of (or in addition to) Divine beings such as Ascended Masters or Archangels.

Astral beings such as Spirit Guides are lousy at healing and clearing negative energy, from our spaces or from our energy fields.

You shouldn’t ask them to do it nor should you ever involve them in a clearing or healing.

If you do, you’ll notice it tires you out, and that’s because they’re utilising your energy to carry it out.

Divine beings on the other hand can do all the healing and clearing work that you want, with no problem. They can do the “heavy lifting” that your Spirit Guides cannot do.

But what are Divine beings not so good at?

Unlike your Spirit Guides, Divine beings like the Archangels and Ascended Masters are not as good at giving spiritual guidance that is specific to you.

If you do call on them for guidance, you’ll notice that the guidance you get is super high level and abstract. It’s universal guidance that can apply to anyone. It isn’t going to be specific to you.

Archangel Azrael or Ascended Master Jesus, for example, aren’t able to alert you that you left the garage door open or that you’re going to get the job you just interviewed for. Your Spirit Guides can, though, that’s their job.

If you want guidance that’s more specific for your life, then you should be calling on your Spirit Guides and if you’re a psychic who works with clients, you will want to work with your client’s Spirit Guides, not with the Divine beings (because they are more about protection, healing & clearing).

The Spirit Guides are the beings that know us really well. They know our life lessons and why we incarnated here. For example, if your life lesson is ‘Power’ and you struggle to assert yourself in situations, your guides are going to know all about that and they are going to have a lot of experience in helping you to become more assertive in your life. They are intimately involved with your life situations in a way that the Divine beings are not.

So, to summarise, here are the two realms, the types of spirit within those realms, and what they’re good for:

1. The Divine realm:

• God/source/ the creator of all beings/ the Divine intelligence (pick your favourite term)
• Archangels, such as Archangel Michael, Gabriel or Raphael
• Ascended Masters from various religions and spiritual traditions, such as Jesus, Buddha, Krishna or Mother Mary

What they can help with:

• Assisting you with healing work for clients or yourself
• Helping you to clear a space
• Protecting your energy

2. The Astral realm:

• Spirit Guides
• Ancestors
• Elementals

What these astral beings can help with:

• Guidance that is very specific to you and your path (rather than abstract, universal guidance that applies to every human out there.)
• Helping you to pass on specific guidance in a reading for someone else

So it can be helpful to be aware of this distinction between the two realms and make sure you’re using them correctly. When I started out as a psychic, I was actually using Spirit Guides to help me to do healing work for clients, because I was taught to do so by my teacher. And after a few years of doing that, boy was I drained!

There are lots of mistakes healers and psychics can make if they lack the right training.
