In this article, I want to give an example of what an Evolutionary Manifesting reading looks like, and what this modality can achieve for people, to provide more detail for anyone who is interested in the Evolutionary Manifesting course. Even if you’re not interested in the course, this article features a client’s past life experience which I think is an interesting story!
Evolutionary Manifesting (which I abbreviate to EM) is a modality I created that helps to identify and release blocks to manifesting that have their origins in past lives.
It is built on the following premises:
The Law of Assumption/Attraction says that we manifest according to what is in our subconscious mind. I believe that we actually manifest our lives according to the entire contents of our subtle energy bodies (which together make up the energy field) and the subconscious mind also forms part of our energy field. Essentially, our external life reflects back to us who we are ‘being’, on the level of our energy field (and not just on the level of the subconscious mind).
Certain spiritual traditions, such as Tibetan Buddhism, teach that these subtle energy bodies are not cleaned up from one lifetime to the next — instead, since we are souls who are on an evolutionary journey, we take the contents of them from one life to the next.
If we have had any past life traumas which had a big impact on our soul (which will be stored in the energy field), these can also be carried from one lifetime to the next – these traumas are called karmic complexes.
A karmic complex is essentially a wound that the soul sustains while experiencing trauma on the Earth plane. The wound has negative beliefs, feelings, thoughts, attitudes and compulsive behaviours connected to it.
The essence of trauma is to repeat itself in search of resolution, and so a karmic complex causes repeating negative patterns of belief, thought, emotion and behaviour that manifests in our inner world, and these also create unwanted situations in our outer world (“as within, so without”).
Karmic complexes are the number one reason why some people do not manifest their desires.
Not everyone has a karmic complex (and if you’re new to conscious creation, I recommend simply using LOA techniques to manifest a desired outcome before considering karmic complexes), but a subset of conscious creators do have one or more karmic complexes interfering with their manifestations, and these are the people who tend to give up on conscious creation after a while because it simply doesn’t work for them, and they sense that something deeper is blocking them.
Now I’m going to share an Evolutionary Manifesting reading that I did recently for a student who is going through my Evolutionary Manifesting course, so you can see how this sort of thing manifests.
My student (I’m going to call her Gemma, although that is not her real name) wanted an EM reading because she hadn’t been able to manifest an income beyond a certain level, and she wanted more financial prosperity.
Plus she hadn’t managed to keep up positive habits that would help her to achieve her goals in life.
She also struggled to persist with conscious creation techniques because she had low energy and was too tired to do them for an extended period.
So, her intentions in terms of conscious creation were the following:
- Improved energy
- A home she loves
- Her family being healthy and happy
- Being financially worry free
The first thing I did as part of her reading was to tune in to see if there is a karmic complex that is affecting the manifestation of her intentions.
The answer to that was yes.
I channelled on the karmic complex and here is what I was told:
She had a female past life that took place in Turkey around 500-600 years ago. I was given the word Constantinople, the old name in English for Istanbul.
I was shown that she lived with her family in Constantinople (or perhaps in the surrounding areas) and invaders came, and they burned and sacked her town. She lived with her mother and brothers. Her family had a business and a home that they had spent generations building and they lost both of those things in the space of one day. Her brothers stayed behind to fight, and she and her mother left their town as refugees and walked west, with nothing more than the clothes on their backs.
(According to the research that I did after the reading, the historical event Gemma lived through may have been the Fall of Constantinople in 1453).
Her mother was not well and died on the journey, and had to be buried on the roadside. Gemma often struggled to find shelter, food and water on the way. She passed through multiple Eastern European countries. I felt she did not encounter much hospitality on the road because she spoke the language of the invaders — the Turks had invaded these countries in the past and she was regarded warily. She kept walking until she found a new life. She walked for weeks and she eventually arrived at a place in Eastern Europe where she was offered somewhere to sleep, then she found work (I think it was domestic work, working in a kitchen), and had an offer of marriage.
Gemma did not want to marry the man who offered to marry her and didn’t like him much, but she felt she had no choice because she was so tired by this point and needed some security, which this person offered. It was not a marriage that she would have chosen for herself under normal circumstances.
She died 15 years later in childbirth, bearing this man’s child. At the moment of death, she blamed herself for choosing him and for having no choice but to bear his children. This created a karmic complex.
The karmic complex revolved around a sense of futility. Obviously that lifetime had involved a lot of loss – sudden loss of her home and family, and also the loss of her life.
This past life self couldn’t believe that she had walked all of that way in a journey that took weeks, to save her own life, only to lose it in childbirth. In effect, the seeds of the new life she had found, also contained her demise.
She also couldn’t believe that the home and business her family had spent generations building were both gone overnight.
There was a sense that a person can work to achieve great things in life, but they can be taken away, so what’s the point in achieving anything? (And interestingly, her life lesson in that lifetime was ‘achievement’!)
Here is what the past life self told me:
“What’s the point?”
“There is no point”
“Live for the short term”
“Don’t invest/commit” (because what you work hard to build over time can be destroyed in one day, even if you do everything right.)
“I can’t have what I want”
This past life self had unresolved issues and was unintegrated within Gemma, and was influencing her by feeding her ‘guidance’ that wasn’t helpful.
This is a karmic complex that affected Gemma in the area of reaching long-term goals, productivity and putting in effort over the long term. This past life self had experienced the pain of losing something that she had invested a lot in, since she walked a long way to save her own life and her family had lost everything they had built over a long period. She didn’t want Gemma to invest too much in any projects and experience the same pain.
This past life self told me that she weakens Gemma’s resolve when it comes to her goals and habits.
The past life self also had some degree of guilt because she hadn’t been able to save her mother.
There was a sense of “I can’t” and “I’m not capable” with this complex.
Gemma said she agreed with the findings of the reading – she often left things to the last minute to complete and lived for the short term. On our call, she said something like, “I might get hit by a bus anyway, so that’s why I do things at the last minute”.
As part of my EM readings, I look into the best way for the client to clear their complex, and also find out when would be the ideal time to do it (since clearing a complex can take a lot of energy to do, and not everyone is in a position to do it straight away).
I also look for downstream consequences of the karmic complex, since it’s a good idea to clear those at the same time.
There are 6 possible downstream consequences of karmic complexes and Gemma had one of them: an ancestral/epigenetic influence.
I mentioned that our karmic complexes can be passed down from one lifetime to the next, until we resolve them, and we manifest according to them.
We can also manifest according to the downstream consequences (like ancestral influences), and ancestral influences are usually going to reflect our karmic complex really well, because if we have a karmic complex, we choose a family to incarnate into that has similar karmic complexes to our own. (Then when we grow up as part of that family, we are conditioned according to similar karmic complexes.)
I was told that Gemma has an ancestral influence on her mother’s side, 3 generations back. (So, this was an ancestral influence that was also interfering with her desired intentions.) This would have been her great-grandmother. This ancestor resonated with Gemma’s karmic complex or was connected to it in some way.
Gemma told me that her great-grandmother lived a similar story, in that she had an arranged marriage with a man and they emigrated out of China, to another country in Asia. The couple worked really hard and set up successful businesses in their new country but lost everything in WW2, through no fault of their own. Her great-grandfather subsequently died by suicide.
Gemma wasn’t able to provide confirmation of this, but I had the sense that her great-grandmother’s marriage was not a good one (i.e. not someone she would have chosen for herself, which echoed Gemma’s past life experience) and that her great-grandmother was both disappointed in the marriage and her lot in life.
Spirit told me that her great-grandmother didn’t have the life that she wanted and had passed down a story of loss to her descendants and also a story that it wasn’t possible to have what one wants in life. Gemma confirmed that her mother and her grandmother definitely had a sense of unfulfilled potential in their lives (which probably would have been typical for the times they lived in).
This story was reinforcing the karmic complex and influencing Gemma epigenetically through the processes that were going on in her body. So, there was a biological component to the karmic complex, as well. (This sounds like an esoteric process, but it is something that science has proven occurs!)
Spirit gave me guidance on how Gemma could overcome the ancestral component of the complex, too.
The next part of the reading involved looking into the size of Gemma’s energy field and whether she had the energy to manifest her desired outcomes or heal the karmic complex.
Many of the Evolutionary Manifesting clients I’ve worked with do not have enough energy to manifest their desired outcome because they have subtle energy bodies that are depleted.
This element is absolutely crucial for manifesting a desired outcome, and it is something that not many Law of Attraction/Assumption teachers and coaches talk about.
A bit of background on this…
Here on Earth, we have various forms of currency. We have time, we have money and we have energy. In the spirit world, the only currency is energy. Energy is what is needed to manifest a desired outcome – to take something that is formless, not yet in the 3D, and make it physical.
When I refer to having energy, I mean having an energy field that is big and replete with energy.
I am going to use the metaphor of energy, in the form of a dollar amount. We all receive the same amount of energy from Source/the Creator each day – let’s say it is ‘$100’ per day. We all use this energy in different ways, and how we spend our energy tends to be quite automatic and subconscious.
This part of an Evolutionary Manifesting reading tells a client how they are spending (or perhaps wasting) their energy and if they have enough energy to manifest a desired outcome or clear a karmic complex – and if not, how they can change that.
Not having enough energy to manifest a desired outcome is a bit like not having enough money to buy the things you need and want in this life. If you haven’t got the currency to buy what you want, you won’t be able to have it.
There is a scale that I use to measure peoples’ energy fields, and there is a certain place on that scale that most people need to be at, in order to manifest a desired outcome or have enough energy to do the work to resolve a karmic complex.
A small energy field is when the energy field (which should normally be up to 1-2 metres outside of the body) is depleted and reduced in size. In some cases, it can be so small that it looks ‘shrink-wrapped’ to the body and at the point of collapse.
We use the energy in the energy field to consciously create our lives.
If your energy field is too small, you have less energy to create and you are more likely to stay stuck in present circumstances – you only have the energy to perpetuate the status quo.
If your energy field is spacious, full of light and big, you have plenty of energy at your disposal for conscious creation or clearing a karmic complex.
A small energy field can occur when we are being depleted by our life situation or relationships, and/or by our own negative thinking. It can also occur when we are not balancing energy depletion with energy nourishment.
The energy field can be built through some LOA techniques and certain healthy living practices.
Gemma had an energy field which was quite depleted, and Spirit gave her the 6 reasons why this was the case, along with some ideas for mitigating and resolving some of them. She was also told which LOA technique would build her energy field the quickest and given info on when she would be ready to tackle the karmic complex.
There were lots of other things included in the reading, as well. One of them involved asking about Gemma’s manifesting ‘weakest link’ – what was interfering with her manifesting process the most? Spirit told me her weakest link was a lack of consistency with LOA techniques, and there were two reasons for this:
- Her past life self didn’t want her to be consistent or invest any energy in this
- Her energy field was depleted and she didn’t have much energy to do LOA techniques anyway.
Gemma got clear guidance about what was blocking her, how to resolve it, when to resolve it and which steps she can take right now to get on the road to manifesting her desired outcome.
It’s interesting also that Gemma’s intention was for her family to be happy and healthy, given that there was an ancestral component to the complex that seemed to be affecting her family, too.
Plus, I found that her mother in this lifetime was the mother she lost and could not save in that previous lifetime. And the brothers who stayed behind in Constantinople to fight (and who she never saw again in that lifetime) were her niece and brother in this lifetime. Gemma mentioned that when her niece was born, she felt she shifted onto a more negative ‘timeline’ in terms of what she was manifesting, which made sense to me – often when we meet souls from past lives, it can retrigger old stories in us – the stories that we shared with them in a past life.
Therefore, by healing the ancestral component of her complex, Gemma can bring healing not only to herself, but also to her family line.
Interestingly, when Gemma started the Evolutionary Manifesting (EM) course, she didn’t think she’d need an EM reading herself because even though there have been challenging periods in her life, she felt she had had it easy compared to many people in the world. She thought her problems in life simply arose from her not trying hard enough.
After having the complex described to her, it became clear to Gemma that this complex affects her earning potential because she lives in the short term and doesn’t want to invest too much effort, so she only does things when they MUST be done.
But on the flip side, she feels her past life self IS seeking security, so when things give her security and peace of mind, she does do them. But she doesn’t seem to be able to invest in them beyond a certain point or do more than that (hence the income ceiling). So, this past life self allows Gemma to acquire some level of financial security – just enough – but beyond that, there is a sense of ‘what’s the point?’ (this was feedback she shared with me after the reading was delivered.)
So, it’s clear that karmic complexes don’t have to result in dire life circumstances or terrible traumas in this life. Sometimes they block us subtly and in ways that are hard to pinpoint.
Evolutionary Manifesting enables a person to identify their karmic complex with great precision.
And when we pinpoint our karmic complex and resolve it, that is when a person’s life changes.
I’m talking real, lasting, sustainable change – not ‘flash in the pan’ stuff.
Here is what I’ve manifested by resolving my own karmic complexes:
- Healthier relationships. My life is filled with decent, kind people, and I also attract the most awesome clients and students into my business.
- More inspiration and passion for my work, plus this amazing modality that Spirit gifted to me.
- I had a successful business for many years but I couldn’t work in it much because I was being hindered by poor health…
…Here is a list of my health manifestations over the last few years:
- Going from being a ‘low energy’ person for around 12-15 years (only being able to work a couple of hours per day) to being able to work 30+ hour weeks again
- An end to lifelong complex PTSD following a difficult upbringing (I had an ACE score of 8). I put the past to bed.
- Reversal of a multi-symptom serious, chronic autoimmune disease
- An end to 24 years of seasonal affective disorder (winter depression)
- No more severe post-viral asthma that frequently used to land me in the ER even after a minor virus (I haven’t used an inhaler in 2 years.)
- No more eczema
- No more PMS or awful periods (I used to feel ill for several days per month)
- An end to chronic silent reflux and chronic digestive issues which left me unable to eat certain foods (dairy, gluten, fruit) for 14 years – I can now eat a greater variety of foods
- No more medications
As mentioned, not everyone who is manifesting a desired outcome needs an EM reading. New conscious creators should just get started with using LOA techniques and shifting their state of being, and they may find that’s all they need.
People who can benefit from Evolutionary Manifesting include those who have used LOA techniques for an extended period, but who have found that not a lot changed for them on the inside or in their external world.
Evolutionary Manifesting is also suitable for those who have low energy/vitality, and those who have experienced childhood trauma that created deeply seated negative beliefs that they can’t seem to shift (childhood trauma is going to have its roots in a karmic complex). And it’s suitable for spiritual workers who want to work with clients who meet the criteria above.
If you’re interested in learning how to do this kind of reading for people (or for yourself), my Evolutionary Manifesting course is $210 off until 8pm EST on 11th Feb. You can check it out here.
I’ve also had some enquiries this week about my EM readings – I am not offering these at the moment as I need a holiday to recoup my energy (I’ve been working 50-70 hour weeks for months on this new course!) However, they will be offered later on and I am also working on creating an affordable EM mini reading – the best place to hear about when they will be available is my newsletter.
Evolutionary Manifesting course students will be eligible for a substantial discount on my EM readings and will get first priority for a reading.

Just a final note that I asked Gemma if I can share this story partly because I think it’s a great story, worthy of a fictional novel! I actually believe that many of the stories that come to novelists out of nowhere, are ones that belong to earthbound spirits who are stuck in a karmic complex and are looking for their story to be told and made sense of.
