The 2 Types of SP I Don’t Believe Anyone Should Manifest

Some people in the Neville Goddard/Law of Attraction community look down on SP manifestors.

    I don’t.

In my view, an SP manifesting journey can be a huge catalyst for spiritual growth and awakening.

The opportunity and desire to manifest an SP is about your soul asking you to ascend in your awareness to embody a state of love and worthiness in yourself, and if you succeed in doing this, it has far-reaching consequences for your whole life.

That’s why I never look down on SP manifesting.

Having said that, I do believe the SP community has strayed beyond what Neville Goddard taught when it comes to SP’s. There are only two things we know about Neville’s attitude to SP manifesting:

    1. That he said it was possible to manifest an SP (he manifested his wife that way)
    2. But he also said that you don’t actually want your SP, what you really want is to be happily married so maybe it’s better to manifest for that.

(You can read about his statements on those two things in detail towards the end of this article.)

He didn’t say that SP manifesting always works or is desirable in every single circumstance, as some LOA coaches seem to think.

Here are two situations where I feel the SP manifesting community has strayed way beyond the ethos of what Neville taught.

    Abusive SP’s

I have come across people who are manifesting someone who has abused them, verbally, physically and/or emotionally.

Technically it is possible to change an abusive person through the Law of Assumption.

We attract abusive partners into our lives because our beliefs, assumptions, thoughts and feelings about ourselves is a match for that behaviour.

Maybe we were abused in childhood and that gave us certain beliefs about ourselves that means we are likely to attract abuse. Or maybe we’ve been in an abusive relationship before and we’re used to being abused, so it feels normal and familiar to us.

Here is what Neville said about changing other people:

“Change your conception of yourself and you will automatically change the world in which you live. Do not try to change people; they are only messengers telling you who you are. Revalue yourself and they will confirm the change.”

So technically, it is possible for an abusive person in your life to change, when you change.

When we change our self-concept and who we are being on the inside, the people around us change.

However, it’s a dangerous thing to do. Here’s why:

You never know if you have succeeded, and the stakes are pretty high.

You could do a lot of work on your self-concept and completely change what you’re attracting in your life. But to have an abusive person completely change, you may need to remove every single “chink in your armour” which is causing you to tolerate that abuse. You may need to revise all abuse or mistreatment from your past. You may need to do some of this work or you may need to do the totality of what you could possibly do, before this person changes. Then because there is a time lapse in manifesting, you may need to wait weeks or even months for the change to reflect in the 3D.

(and something I have repeatedly observed is that most people who go through this process realise they’d rather move on because they feel they deserve better…)

Good luck trying to work out if you have changed sufficiently for the abuser to change, and then trying to work out what the time lapse is for your manifestation to appear in the 3D and if it’s safe to reconcile yet.

If you think you have changed and the person has changed, and you let them back into your life, and then you find they haven’t changed, you are in a dangerous situation.

Through consciously applying the Law of Assumption, you can create the best and the highest love you have ever known.

Is it a good use of your creative energies to recreate an abusive person when you can focus your energies to create something amazing with someone else?

Personally I think to manifest an abusive SP constitutes a squandering of your creative energies.

If when you’re back together with the abuser, you drop the ball and you’re no longer embodying a desirable state, you’re in a vulnerable position. Essentially you’re living with a crocodile who won’t attack you as long as you stay on top of your self-concept and transform yourself completely.

    Too risky, in my book.

Relationships are not about this. Relationships are about love.

Why subject yourself to this when you can have something much better?

Why not attract a wonderful new love instead – someone who will never have you guessing if they might attack you, or when?

Let’s have a look at the second category of SP manifestation that I think no-one should bother with.

    Happily Partnered SP’s

I know of people who are manifesting a relationship with someone who is happily partnered with children.

I think this is wrong and I also don’t believe Neville would ever have thought this was OK.

People justify this endeavour by saying that we live in a “multiverse” and that they are simply manifesting the reality where they are together with their SP but there also exists a reality where their SP is still happily together with their current spouse and children.

Neville did say that “creation is finished” and that essentially we are “lighting up” the version of reality that we want through our focus on it. Whereas the rest of the possible realities stay ‘in the dark’ and are not seen because we do not focus on them.

So, therefore, if we follow this line of logic, we’re not causing harm to anyone if we take away a happy person from their current happy spouse and children.

    I disagree with this.

This is like saying, I have an enemy who has wronged me and I’d really like to do some harm to them. Because we live in a multiverse, it’s ethically OK for me to run this person down with my car, and the reason why it’s OK is because there exists another reality where they didn’t get hit by my car.

Neville said in his 1968 lecture ‘Power’:

“You can [use the Law of Assumption] to do evil. You can, but I’m telling you, don’t. Don’t do it. Use it for good.”

Note that not only did he say this, he also didn’t say: ‘it’s fine to do unethical things, because we live in a multiverse and therefore there exists a reality where you didn’t do the unethical thing you’re contemplating doing.”

In my view, breaking up a happy relationship for your own ends (especially if there are children involved), is the kind of evil Neville was talking about.

Since we always create what we hold inside of us and the energies we are dealing in, if you manifest breaking up someone else’s relationship, don’t be surprised if you lose that SP to another third party once you attract them in.

So, to summarise, even though Neville manifested an SP himself, he was a bit washy-washy on whether anyone should manifest a specific person. At one point, he also said that some people should go general instead of specific. For these reasons, I doubt that he would have been on board with some of the SP madness that can be seen in the LOA community, where people are trying to manifest their already happily married SP or someone who has abused them.

  • How to Manifest in a Mentally Healthy Way

How to Manifest in a Mentally Healthy Way

I’ve been immersed in the manifesting community and Law of Assumption space for around 18 months now, and I’ve coached others in their conscious creation process. Back when I started immersing myself in this space, I was so green and enthusiastic that I didn’t see the potential harms of using the Law of Assumption to consciously create.

Now I want to state what I see as potential harms and how they can be avoided on your path of conscious creation. There is a clear way to manifest positive outcomes in your life while maintaining excellent mental health. Use the tips below to avoid taking yourself down an unhealthy path.

    1. Thoughts on their own don’t manifest powerfully

One of the things that can sometimes scare people about getting into conscious manifesting is the idea that our thoughts create our reality.

I do not believe that thoughts are a powerful way to manifest, on their own.

I believe that for something to manifest in your world, it needs to combine both thought and feeling. Emotionalised thoughts manifest. Thoughts that we identify with (as meaning something about us) manifest.

Let me give you an example of what I mean:

If you are checking your bank balance and you think “oh, my balance is low. I hope I have enough money to pay my rent this month.”

Acknowledging that you don’t have enough money this month is not going to manifest more poverty.

If you check your bank balance, see that it’s low and then tell yourself you’re a loser because you have no money and you’re in debt, that’s a thought you’re identifying with, and it means something about you. That’s what manifests — who you believe yourself to be and what you feel the low bank balance means about you.

Or if you check your bank balance, see it’s low and then go into a full-on panic which lasts a while, that is a reaction. It’s a combination of a thought and a strong emotion. It’s an emotionalised thought. When you do it repeatedly and consistently, that is what manifests your world — what you are reacting to and resisting.

This is also the most powerful way to manifest something good — through emotionalised thoughts. In visualisations and affirmations, we have thoughts and we allow those to elevate our emotions while we’re using those techniques. When practised consistently, this is what leads to positive conscious manifestations.

    2. If you have certain tendencies with your mental health, hold those in mind while manifesting and ensure the techniques you use are right for you

For example, if you have OCD or you’ve had symptoms of OCD in the past, be wary around obsessive, robotic affirming. This is probably not the right technique for you.

Also be cautious with your mental diet — don’t obsess over it. If keeping a mental diet makes you feel obsessive or upset, just drop this idea altogether for now.

If you have anxiety and a manifesting technique makes you more anxious, step away from it. Choose the technique that really feels good to you and improves your mental health. If it doesn’t feel good, stay away from it (this applies to everyone; not just those who have anxiety).

You can find a list of manifesting techniques here.

    3. Don’t view manifesting techniques as helping you to get something in the outside world — instead do them for enjoyment

Let’s be real. We are interested in manifestation because we want something in the 3D world. We want more love, more money, more freedom, more peace, more joy, better health, or whatever it is.

However, when we view techniques in a transactional way: if I do X, I will get Y, it doesn’t work so well. We’re forever fixated on the 3D world and whether it is yielding what we wish to see. We get impatient and frustrated if it doesn’t shift.

The paradox here is that even though we usually start out doing techniques to get something in the outside world, it doesn’t work that way.

The reason that conscious manifesting works is this:

If you are looking for something in the outside world, you cannot see it in your world until you have found it on the inside.

This is the absolute essence of what Neville Goddard taught.

An example: If you feel unloved and unwanted in your life, you will not find love in the 3D. Or if you do, it will be with someone who doesn’t satisfy your desire to be loved. You won’t feel loved by that person even if they love you.

Everything you want in the 3D can be found on the inside and must be found on the inside first. Only then can it be found on the outside. You are the source of all. God/Source is the source of all. I believe, and Neville Goddard taught, that all human beings are a piece of God. We all have a soul or a higher self (which is a piece of God) that takes us on a path towards what we want to create, starting with our imagination.

If you see the good stuff of life — love, freedom, wellbeing, abundance as existing outside of you, and things that life is withholding from you, that you need to GET, you will not succeed in your conscious manifesting.

Learn to enter states of feeling loved, feeling abundant, feeling free, feeling vital and healthy. Learn to cultivate these states within by having new positive thoughts, new positive feelings and a new level of wellbeing, and when you do that consistently, that is when your 3D reality will shift to reflect these energies in your life.

    4. Be discerning when it comes to Law of Assumption teachers and content creators

I have been immersed in the LOA space for 18 months, as mentioned, and I’ve come across what I would consider maladaptive manifesting behaviours and recommendations during that time.

New thought philosophy has been repackaged by many on YouTube and online (and I include myself in this category). But the problem I see with this is that the titles of videos and articles have people running around in circles with the manifesting process.

I see video titles like these:

“This is the ONLY manifestation technique you will ever need”

    And the next day:

“If you don’t do this, you won’t get your manifestation.”

    And the next day:

“Use this technique to manifest what you want instantly”

    (From the same video creator.)

When people see titles like these, they start to get anxious about whether they’re missing something in their process. This creates thoughts and feelings of lack, and makes people more likely to purchase a course from one of these creators to see what they’re missing and why they aren’t getting their manifestation instantly. It turns out the person was not missing anything — in fact, you can find everything you need in Neville Goddard’s and Joseph Murphy’s teachings. (As an aside, Neville Goddard said that every manifestation has its own timeline to appear in the 3D and it’s not within our conscious control.)

You don’t need to spend a lot of money – or in fact, any money – to learn about the Law of Assumption. All of Neville Goddard’s work is in the public domain, and you can read it for free here. (It does take time to get used to his slightly archaic writing style but if you do immerse yourself in his work, I think you will be richly rewarded.)

    5. The Law of Assumption isn’t about controlling people, it’s about changing yourself

Neville Goddard taught that when using the Law of Assumption to manifest for someone else, we must assume the best for that person. We must see them happy, healthy, loved, healed (if applicable) and with everything they need financially.

From this place, positive outcomes manifest for those we love, and for us.

In addition, Neville taught that everyone is you pushed you – the entire world is your mirror. If you want to see change in another person, it’s not about changing them and controlling that person to behave a certain way. You need to change yourself. You need to dissolve the part of you that is “holding them in gridlock” (as spiritual teacher Agnes Vivarelli puts it) and seeing them in a way that is less than ideal. As Neville said, there is no-one to change but self.

Having said that, I don’t ever recommend using these spiritual principles with people in your life who are behaving in an abusive manner. It’s too risky and can result in physical or emotional harm.

    6. Using the Law of Assumption is a lifestyle — not a magic trick

Practising the LOA is a lifestyle. It means a dedication to bringing more positive thoughts, emotions and behaviours into your life. It’s also about shedding what doesn’t serve you and allowing for more possibility. And it’s about observing your thoughts and challenging the negative ones. In some cases, this can take tremendous inner work and a lot of rewiring of neural pathways — this is not usually a magic trick that you can insert into your life to get a desire as a one off. People who use it like a magic trick and manage to manifest what they want, often can’t sustain what they manifested. If you want a new outcome in your life, you have to change who you are being on the inside.

Don’t use the LOA simply to get something on the outside — instead, change on the inside, and your outer world will reflect the change.

    7. Don’t invalidate your emotions or resist them, thinking negative ones will manifest.

Remember that it’s the combination of a thought and an emotion (aka a reaction) that manifests an outcome — and this needs to be repeated so that the subconscious mind is impressed.

Emotions on their own do not manifest. Let negative emotions pass through you and meet them with acceptance. What you resist, persists.

Using the Law of Assumption is not about invalidating your emotional experiences.

    8. Be realistic

Sometimes it can take months, or a year or longer for someone to do the inner work required to manifest what they desire. If you started off from a very bad place in your life, it might even take you a few years to manifest the life you want. Again, this is not a magic trick. This is about making a change to your self-concept that lasts so that your outer world can change.

Neville Goddard said: “There’s no-one to change but self”. Your current self has been years in the making. Your slightly different self, that has a slightly different reality, may take time to bring into being.

    9. Pick and choose your own beliefs

My personal belief is that we are manifesting all of the time — for better or worse — and that our state of being (thoughts, feelings, beliefs, assumptions, etc) are perfectly reflected in our lives – I wrote more about this concept in this article.

As an aside, Neville Goddard taught that the only exception to this is that people die when it is their time, and we do not manifest the deaths of people around us.

Some people don’t believe that we manifest everything in our lives and think this is victim blaming.

You get to decide. If you don’t believe in EIYPO or if you don’t agree that we manifest everything in our lives, discard these ideas.

If you want to use visualisation/SATS and affirmations, but you don’t believe you have manifested everything in your life, go for it and use the techniques anyway. You don’t have to subscribe wholesale to the New Thought teachings in order to successfully manifest a new outcome in your life. You could just use the techniques to improve your mental health and emotional state. You can discard the beliefs you don’t ascribe to.

I have seen that good things will happen as a result of consistently applying Law of Assumption techniques, regardless of what you believe.

Disclaimer before you begin reading: The thing not many manifesting teachers (often because they have something to sell you) will tell you is that most SP’s don’t get manifested. Not all SPs can be manifested in a timely way because not every couple is a good fit and fundamental compatibility tends not to be something that is subject to quick change. Some SPs do get manifested, but most people raise their self-concept and then decide they don’t want their SP.

So, it’s best to view the whole SP manifesting project as being about “this or something better” and improving your own self-concept primarily. Manifesting an SP can be a powerful catalyst for changing your life if you go about it the right way.

I know some of you will click away after reading this, but I don’t care. I have nothing SP-related to sell you. I’m simply sharing what I know to be true through my own experience.

    OK, let’s get into it…

Do you just want to manifest your SP, or do you want to manifest them and keep them, too?

Most information on the internet teaches you how to manifest an SP but doesn’t teach you to keep them. (Some successful SP manifestors lose their SP later on!)

This article will teach you how to manifest an SP AND maintain the relationship, so you set yourself up for success from the get-go.

This guide is very comprehensive and long (over 5000 words long).

    My experience with manifesting SP’s

I like to experiment with Law of Assumption concepts that I’ve come across, and when I read that Neville Goddard manifested his wife as an SP, I decided to put his teachings to the test and manifest an SP for myself.

I wanted to do this not just for my own benefit but also so I could (1) test the limits of the Law of Assumption and EIYPO, (2) form an opinion on the topic, and (3) gain some experience that might help future readers and clients.

Long short story, I learned through my own experience that yes, it is possible for some people to manifest an SP, and yes, people reflect your self-concept.

So, this post is the product of experience in my own manifesting process, and also a product of much research.

Many people learn about the Law of Assumption when they want to get an ex back or feel a strong need to have another person in their life.

This strong need to have the SP back can really trip people up when it comes to manifesting, and creates too much attachment. (This is in fact the main reason why most people do not manifest their SP.) In this post, I’ll talk about how you can get around this pothole in the road to manifesting your SP.

The other thing that complicates SP manifesting is that not everyone is alike, and I have found that different people need different manifesting strategies, based on their attachment style, relationship history and childhood.

The 3 categories of SP manifestor

Based on my work with coaching clients, my own experiences and listening to the experiences of content creators who successfully manifested and kept an SP, I believe that people fall into 3 categories with SP manifesting and need different strategies based on which one they fall into.

Category 1 people have a secure attachment style, don’t have childhood trauma, and have a good relationship with caregivers and family. They have a low ACE score (less than 1 or 2.) They can focus more on manifesting SP and don’t need such extensive self-concept work. They often manifest their SP quickly.

Category 2 people are people who have an anxious, avoidant or disorganised attachment style. They have had childhood trauma – sometimes extensive trauma, neglect and abuse. They usually have an ACE score of at least 4. Sometimes they haven’t had extensive trauma but just an event that caused an attachment wound with a caregiver.

Category 3 people are somewhere in the middle between those 2 extremes. Maybe they had significant childhood trauma or maybe their parents had a bad relationship between themselves and they never saw healthy love being modelled for them, but they also had a good relationship with one or both parents and ended up with a mostly secure attachment style.

You can read about attachment wounds here.

If you don’t know your attachment style, go do a quiz and then come back to this post so you know which category you fit into.

These 3 categories need different approaches when it comes to manifesting an SP.

The majority of people who manifest an SP fall into category 2 so that’s the category I’m going to focus on for this article. I also discuss category 1 and category 3 people at the end of this article, so you can scroll to the end if you fall into that category.

Why self concept is the key to manifesting SP

Category 2 people need extensive self concept work to manifest an SP, and they need to take the focus off SP temporarily.

The reason why you don’t have your SP (as a category 2 person) is because your self concept isn’t at all that of someone who is happily partnered.

You may be a loving, lovely person in your relationships, but you are not consistently embodying love, worthiness or self-love in your state (your state consists of your thoughts, emotions, moods, beliefs, assumptions, and above all, your self-concept.)

If you’re going to manifest an SP using the Law of Assumption, you need to go back to basics and look at what Neville’s ideas really were.

    He said:

“Change your conception of yourself and you will automatically change the world in which you live. Do not try to change people; they are only messengers telling you who you are. Revalue yourself and they will confirm the change.”

Therefore, manifesting an SP is about self-concept. It’s about changing you and revaluing you. It’s not about changing your SP or your 3D world.

Read that sentence again, because it’s really important.

To manifest an SP as a category 2 person, you need to take the focus off SP and put it back on you.

If you don’t get this concept and apply it, you will probably fail to manifest your SP and you will most definitely fail to keep your SP.

What many people who are manifesting an SP do is they are affirming and visualising for SP exclusively. They are after a quick fix. They want their SP back but expect everything else about their life to stay the same. That’s not how it works for category 2 people. If you’re a category 2 person, you have to go on a journey of change.

You also have to accept that this journey isn’t really about SP. The way they are currently showing up in your life (or not) is just a side effect of who you are being.

(If you don’t agree with this, go back and read Neville’s Complete Reader. In his work, he has many examples and stories which illustrate this concept beautifully.)

    This journey is about you.

When you desire something in the 3D, it’s because your soul is asking you to embody the state of being, that you think the desire will induce in you.

If you desire a loving relationship with an SP, your soul is essentially asking you to embody the state of love, worthiness, self-love and become that. If you succeed in reaching that state and maintaining it, you will manifest your SP as a side effect of that state.

If you strive after getting SP in a needy way and focus on them, the state that successfully manifests your SP and maintains a healthy relationship with them, will continue to elude you.

Here are my steps to embodying the state you need to embody, in order to manifest SP:

    1. Find out your attachment style, and create affirmations based on that

If you’re anxiously attached, list out the features of that attachment style that you agree with, in terms of how you’re behaving and feeling in relationships, then flip them around to create an affirmation that targets your particular wounds.

For example, if you’re anxiously attached and the info on anxious attachment style that you read says you feel undeserving of love and often seek out avoidantly attached people, say the affirmations:

I deserve a warm and responsive partner

I deserve to receive so much in love.

If you’re avoidantly attached, say the affirmation:

I am comfortable being close to others.

If you find out your attachment style and do detailed research into the features of your attachment style, you can create a whole set of affirmations that target your attachment wounds.

Then you need to say them everyday (sometimes for weeks or months) until they become part of your new story.

    2. Next, look into your childhood history and your relationship history to find out what your subconscious unfavourable assumptions are about love and relationships

Not only do you need to target your attachment style in your affirmations, but you also need to target your childhood and relationship history.

This article goes into depth on how to do that.

This is something I do in my coaching sessions with people, but I’ve got a long wait list and no longer accepting applications. However, you don’t need a coach to do this. You just need to get really honest with yourself and look at where your life has gone wrong, with no shame, and no blame.

For example, if you had an abusive parent and a subconscious belief that if you get into a relationship, you will be abused, then you need to create affirmations that say the opposite of that.

For example, you will need to affirm:

I am always safe in relationships

My heart is cherished and protected in my relationship.

Check out the article to complete that step.

    3. Make it easy to ignore the 3D

I personally feel that it’s even harder to manifest an SP when they’re in your face and not giving you what you want…because you’re going to keep reacting to the 3D, which delays your manifestation.

Let’s say that you’re in a ‘friends with benefits’ relationship with someone and it’s painful because you want a real, committed relationship with them but they don’t. When you meet up, you feel triggered afterwards and wonder “why don’t they want me?”

I believe in those situations it’s best to set a boundary and say no to what you don’t want, and explain what you want. Then go no contact temporarily and do your self-concept work.

This won’t screw your manifestation up, in fact it will do the opposite.

If you can’t state what you want or set a boundary with your SP, repeat these affirmations:

I deserve to receive so much in love

I deserve to have my needs met

It is safe to state my needs and set a boundary

And if you’re in no contact with SP, that is a blessing and the best place to manifest your SP from.

Don’t look at their social media and ideally remove any access you have to them in terms of what is going on in their life, so that you’re not reacting to it. I’m not saying block them, but just remove yourself from what is going on in their life if you can.

More on ignoring the 3D here.

    4. Focus only on self-concept and making your energy field beautiful initially

Your self-concept is a collection of concepts and beliefs you have about yourself.

(And your energy field is the energetic reflection of your self-concept and a reflection of how much the universal energies of love, abundance, power, safety and peace are freely running through your energy field and making you attractive to others.)

Remember that Neville Goddard teaches that if you want a different outcome in your life, you have to change you and your self-concept.

Here’s how you work on self-concept:

    • Affirm for your self-concept in love, especially targeted affirmations that contradict your attachment wounds and past experiences
    • Remember who you really are. Improving your self concept isn’t about becoming someone new, it’s about going back to your God state – the soul you were when you came into this life and before you had any negative experiences which taught you limiting beliefs about yourself. Who is that soul? A powerful, loving, worthy, secure being. Using affirmations will help you get back to that state, but it also helps to remember: this is who you have always been. This is who you are! If you persist in this process, you will eventually revert back to your God state and live from that, not just when it comes to your SP, but as a way of life.
    • Do guided self-love meditations. People say you don’t need self-love to manifest an SP, and they’re right. But you do need self-love to keep an SP.

You can find guided self-love meditations on YouTube. Agnes Vivarelli is a good resource for that. Joe Dispenza has a love meditation that helps you to embody the state of love.

    • Start meditating in general and make it a daily practice — any kind of regular meditation will make your state and energy field more beautiful. I have a lovely chakra meditation here that will make your energy field more attractive if you do it regularly
    • Revise, revise, revise. I should have put this step at the top of this article because it is the most important thing for you to do to manifest your SP. Neville Goddard, in his lecture The Pruning Shears of Revision said that if you only take one thing from his work, it should be revision. You need to make a list of any negative experiences you have had in your life which could have caused you to have a poor self-concept. Take the ACEs test and if you answered yes to any of those questions, revise whatever you said yes to from your childhood. (If you had a high ACE score but you thought your childhood was OK, you need to go into therapy.) You could also revise any past relationships that didn’t end well and any event which has given you a limiting belief about who you are. You could revise any interactions with your SP that didn’t go as you wanted. I wrote an article on revision and how to do it, and you can find that here.
    • Do inner child work, or parts work with an internal family systems therapist. If you have a wounded inner child (which you may do if you fall into category 2) and you aren’t paying attention to your inner child and you’re not showing up for them, that negatively affects your self-love and self-concept. This is also big for category 2 manifestors. SP can’t show up for you when you’re not showing up for your most vulnerable inner parts (aka your inner child.)
    • A disembodied state is unattractive. If you have struggled with C-PTSD and you are in the habit of dissociating often, make it a priority to work on that…

Meditation can help with dissociation (doing Joe Dispenza’s long – 45 or 60 mins – guided meditations daily can help.) Therapies like body-centred psychotherapy, Hakomi and somatic experiencing will also help with dissociation.

The kind of self-concept work mentioned above will make you more beautiful and attractive to SP and everyone else. It will also remove the attachment to them and make it easier for the SP manifestation to come in, precisely because you’re less attached.

And you’ll know when you have done enough self-concept work when you don’t feel as attached to SP anymore (you might not even want them by the time you’re done with this process), and you feel good about yourself and good in your life in general.

I’ve got a story for you on the importance of self-love, self-concept and maintaining a lovely energetic state.

A reader of mine who is manifesting an SP and has a long-time preoccupation with looks suggested he can’t manifest an SP because of his looks.

I told him the following story to illustrate that manifesting an SP isn’t about looks. All circumstances, including looks, are irrelevant. The only thing that matters is self-concept and your energy field (which is the energetic manifestation of self-concept and how well you’re taking care of yourself).

I am also telling this story in this article because it illustrates the importance of self-concept and self-love work.

I’ve had a lot of trauma in my past and have embodied a variety of states at different times. I’ve had times when I’ve been all dolled up to go out and looking really good, and all heads turn to look at me when I walk into a room and people fall all over themselves to talk to me. The times when that happens is when I am embodying a beautiful state, feeling good about myself and life, and have had several weeks of doing my self-concept work, meditations and self-love.

I’ve also had times where I’m all dolled up in exactly the same way and looking great, and no-one looks at me and I’m invisible, and I don’t feel welcomed in the space I’m going into, to the point where I feel rejected. That happens when I’m embodying an undesirable state and alienated from the Divine energy within me, usually if something bad has happened to me, that affects how I feel about myself and I’m knocked off centre.

In both situations, I look the same. But the difference between the two experiences is like night and day. I’m carrying myself differently unconsciously, my lack of confidence in that moment is shining through and quite simply, my energy is telling people not to look at me so people can’t see me.

If you have a high self-concept and you feel worthy, and you’re not bogged down by the past, your energy field will be beautiful and other people will notice you and find you attractive, including your SP (regardless of how you look!)

If you have a poor self-concept, feel unworthy or your energy is disturbed by something such as a trauma and/or you’re dissociated, your energy field will not be beautiful and you won’t be as attractive to SP.

    5. Stop the energetic chasing

SP receives your every thought about them and yourself, on an unconscious level. The thoughts they’re having about you unconsciously create their feelings about you, and these thoughts come from what you’re thinking, feeling and saying about them.

When you’re thinking about them all day, affirming for them, or visualising an outcome with them, energetically you’re keeping them company to some degree. They will feel your energy, most likely on a subconscious level. If you’re doing this a lot, they won’t miss you as much; they may feel quite pressured, and if your self-concept is low, they will also feel repelled because you won’t leave them alone and your energy doesn’t feel that great.

If you’re a category 2 SP manifester, it’s much better to raise your self-concept and self-love first. Then and only then, in my opinion, should you affirm and visualise for SP.

While we’re on the topic of energetic chasing, in my opinion, many of the people who teach SP manifesting have it all wrong. This is something I have concluded based on my own journey with SP manifesting, and in helping others.

Many of the people who are wanting to manifest an SP are trying to GET something in the outside world, by focusing on it in their internal world. The average SP manifester is affirming or visualising for their SP while remaining in a place of lack and sometimes obsession. That manifester feels that if their SP just came back, they would be OK and have what they want.

The problem with this is that the essence of Neville Goddard’s teachings is that you can have what you want in the external world, if you give it to yourself first.

    You want love from SP.

You probably want attention from your SP.

Therefore, you have to find love on the inside. You have to put yourself into a state of love. You have to attend to yourself.

If you’re going to manifest or attract your SP back, you need to change your state and who you are being. Right now, if you’re an SP manifester, you aren’t in the right state to attract your person back. You’re not being a happily partnered person who is secure in their relationship and feeling loved. Most SP manifesters are in a state of dependency on their SP. That SP is the source of love, attention, validation, or whatever.

How do you know if you are in a state of dependency on SP? Here are some signs:

    • You often think about them throughout the day
    • You really, really want them to come back
    • You can’t imagine your life without them
    • You are doing SATs and affirmations to get them back, and your visualisations revolve around SP
    • You spend a lot of time watching YouTube videos and content geared towards getting them back
    • You obsessively read SP manifesting success stories
    • You are checking the 3D…waiting for a text message or a phone call
    • You are messing with the 3D – trying to find ways to give your SP an opportunity to see you or notice you
    • You’re looking at their social media
    • You’re consulting psychics to find out if your person is going to come back
    • You’re watching Tarot Youtube readings to see whether they are going to come back
    • You read their horoscope to see what is coming up for them and whether they are going to come back
    • Them leaving you or you being rejected by them traumatised you
    • You’re in a state of limerence
    • They are the solution to your loneliness
    • You don’t feel great about yourself or your life, and deep down you feel this person coming back would solve certain problems for you and make you feel OK.

If you said yes to 2 or more of the above, you’re in a state of dependency on your SP.

But you cannot attract someone back into a healthy relationship from that state. To attract someone back and be attractive to that person, you need to be in a state of love and emotional security. You need to feel loved and think loving thoughts. You need to know that you are love. You also need not to depend on your person for your emotional security or love. If you’re manifesting for a person to give you that emotional security, you will fail to have a healthy relationship with them.

Love is not dependency. It’s not obsession. It’s not manifesting someone to be obsessed with us, either.

Healthy and long-lasting relationships do not arise from that place.

Something interesting to note is that the teachers in the SP community who teach others how to have an SP who is obsessed with them and focus on manifesting obsessive love and being worshipped and getting “princess treatment”, have not been able to create a long-lasting relationship with an SP themselves.

The SP teachers who are successful themselves are those who live in a state of love.

Healthy and long-lasting relationships arise in your 3D experience because you are in a state of love and you give the other person freedom to not be your source of love, validation and attention. That’s when relationships flourish and paradoxically, when you end up feeling loved by your SP.

This is why energetic chasing – thinking of someone a lot, affirming for them constantly, visualising for months or years on end, are a sign of a deeper problem – a dependency on your SP to feel OK and be your source of love in this world.

They are not your source of love – you are (if you believe in the Law of Assumption). You create everything that arises in your world.

(If you believe in the Law of Attraction instead of the Law of Assumption, then God/Source is your source of love.)

Either way, love comes from within and is found within. It doesn’t come from your SP. Your SP can only reflect your current state, whether that is feeling loved and wanted, or unloved and unwanted.

So, unhook yourself from the idea that this person you want, is a source of anything for you. Stop depending on them and needing them. Instead, learn to enter lovely states at will – states of love, of freedom, of fulfilment. Then you will no longer need them to come back. And that’s when the SP often comes back because you’ve stopped energetically harassing them and repelling them with your need.

You can learn to enter these wonderful states at will by either affirming feelingly or by doing SATS and visualising for all kinds of lovely things that you’d like to see in your 3D world. Visualise for wealth, abundance and freedom. Visualise for excellent health and the resolution of health issues, if you have any ailments. Write out what your dreams are in this life and visualise for those (but make sure that if you are dependent on SP at this stage, don’t include anything connected to SP in your SATS – you need to lose the obsession first). Use my SATS method explained in the article linked above to bring the positive energies you’re seeking into your body and energy field.

This is the God’s honest truth that hardly any SP teachers out there will tell you, simply because either they haven’t realised, or they realised but they don’t care because your obsession is making them money. Your energetic chasing and obsession are a sign that you’re too attached to SP. You need to let that go.

You can also find more food for thought on this concept of SP “energetic chasing” here.

Often people reject this concept initially because they’re dependent on their SP but don’t want to give that dependency up. They refuse to accept it as a possibility until they’ve burned themselves out on months of SP manifesting and they’re ready to give up.

If you’re rejecting this concept and feeling some resistance towards what I’m saying, why not bookmark this article and come back to it in a few months, to see if it might have value for you later.

    6. Put the focus on other areas of life, too

When you’re focusing too much on your SP, you’re abandoning yourself.

Why are you so focused on someone who hasn’t chosen you?

I’m not asking that from a place of judgment, but from understanding that many people desperately want an SP because they’re unhappy in general.

Please go back to not only focusing on your self-concept but also on your own life, if you feel it is lacking in general.

If you’re unhappy with some area of your life, work on that, too.

Some SP manifestors are not happy in their lives overall and they’re looking to SP to make it better.

    • If you have health problems, focus on health.
    • If you’re unhappy in your job or broke, focus on a new job and money.

This will also lift your self-concept in other areas and will mean you have a life you enjoy when SP comes back.

    7. Collect self concept affirmations and dowse on which ones to use, and for how long

    Instructions on that here.

How long does self concept work take if you’re a category 2 manifestor?

Sometimes it takes a few months or many months of daily work, especially if you had a traumatic childhood.

Feel free to skip it, but in that situation you either won’t manifest your SP or you will, but they will leave you. Or you will get them back and it will become a toxic relationship.

So, in summary for category 2 people:

This work is not about getting an SP even when you are trying to get an SP — it’s about changing yourself by remembering who you are, loving yourself and embodying that in your state. The SP shows up as a side effect of that.

If you’re a category 2 manifestor, I’d say do 100% or 95% self concept work and no SP manifesting or only 5% of your work should be SP affirmations/visualisations. Personally I wouldn’t even do 5% SP manifesting…I’d completely leave the SP alone.

Then come back to SP manifesting when you have experienced a real shift in your self-concept and you have revised your life, any failed past relationships and everything that didn’t go to plan with SP.

Letting SP go like this is so powerful. It constitutes removing your energy from them, and then once your self concept improves, they feel it and start to miss you and see your value.

    Category 1 people

    If you’re a category 1 SP manifester:

Look at point 5 above, where I talk about energetic chasing and obsession with an SP. If you have any degree of emotional dependency on SP, do not spend all your creative energy manifesting for SP, instead focus at least 75 + % on improving your self-concept and getting into a state of love on a daily basis.

    For the 25% SP work:

Do SATs which is a scene for being with your SP. Affirm for the relationship, feelingly or robotically.

Also, write a list of how you want your SP to show up for you, and then affirm for that.

Look at the reason why the relationship ended in the first place, turn that around and affirm for that (also remember to revise your past interactions with SP that didn’t go as you wanted, as well as any failed past relationships.)

For example, if your relationship ended because your SP moved across the country, say to yourself:

SP doesn’t want to live without me

SP wants to commit to me

We are meant to be together and SP is realising that.

(This is also the work that category 2 manifesters can do, once they have done extensive self concept work, no longer feel the strong desire for SP and start feeling really good about themselves and their life.)

Don’t do this long term – only do it until you know 100% that you have reached the Sabbath and it is done, then remove your energy from SP so they have a chance to miss you. Once you reach the Sabbath with your desire, you are ‘pregnant’ (as Neville Goddard put it) with that desire, and all you need to do is wait for it to gestate, and ensure you don’t come out of the Sabbath.

Also remember to keep a mental diet throughout.

Here are 2 articles on mental diet that you should read:

If you’re a category 1 manifester but you have no dependency on SP to be your source of love, have at it with the SP affirmations and visualisations but also make sure you do 20-30% self-concept work (see the recommendations above and choose the ones that resonate with you) and the rest should be SP manifesting.

If you don’t fit completely into category 1 or 2, but you’re somewhere in between…

You’re category 3 and you should combine category 2 self-concept work with category 1 SP manifesting work.

For example, do 50-70% self-concept work and 30-50% SP manifesting work. The more category 2 features you resonated with and adverse childhood experiences you experienced…(here’s a quiz to find out) the more you should be focusing on self-concept and taking the focus off SP.

If you had bad childhood experiences or bad past relationships as a category 3 person, you should also explore your subconscious unfavourable stories about yourself and love, and affirm against them, and you should revise your past.

Again, take into account the very important point #5 about energetic chasing – this applies to everyone who is manifesting an SP.

Phew. That’s it. I hope you found this post helpful and not too overwhelming. It contains probably weeks or months of inner work so don’t feel like you have to do it all in one day.

  • How to Get to the Heart of What May Be Holding You Back in Creating the Life You Desire

How to Get to the Heart of What May Be Holding You Back in Creating the Life You Desire

In working with my Law of Assumption coaching clients, I’ve noticed something that came up again and again that I wanted to share in this article, around working with the subconscious mind.

In my sessions, clients have had 2 common questions:

    1. “I know my subconscious ‘stories’ and assumptions are what manifest in the 3D — but they are subconscious, which is not something that I’m consciously aware of. How do I know what is holding me back, if it’s subconscious?”

    2. “How do I know which affirmations to use to manifest what I want? I have a list of affirmations and I don’t know which ones to pick or how long to say them for.”

These two questions may look like two different questions, but they are essentially getting at the same thing, which is about how to identify and change your unfavourable subconscious stories about an area of your life, so that you can create change in the 3D.

In order to consciously manifest a new outcome effectively, you have to be aware of your current subconscious unfavourable stories around it, so that you can affirm something different.

Here are some quotes from Neville Goddard and Joseph Murphy (who were New Thought authors and teachers, both taught by the Ethiopian rabbi and Law of Assumption teacher known as Abdullah)

“Chance or accident is not responsible for the things that happen to you, nor is predestined fate the author of your fortune or misfortune. Your subconscious impressions determine the conditions of your world.” – Neville Goddard, ‘Resurrection’

“As you sow in your subconscious mind, so shall you reap in your body and environment.” – Joseph Murphy, in The Power of Your Subconscious Mind

“Nothing comes from without; all things come from within – from the subconscious” – Neville Goddard, in his book ‘Resurrection’

To put it in a more technical way, we receive vital life force energy from the Creator/God and that we condition it with the contents of our subconscious mind (also reflected in our chakra systems). So that energy from the Creator is conditioned with emotions, stories, assumptions, beliefs, thoughts, and our self-concept. Then it goes back out into the quantum field and with a time lapse, that energy is reflected back to us in the 3D – in our body, our environment and our relationships.

So, when we find ourselves in a particular physical condition, environment, situation or relationship, it is purely a reflection of the contents of the subconscious mind.

Therefore, becoming conscious of unfavourable subconscious stories and changing them is key to consciously manifesting a desired outcome.

And in this article I’m going to teach you how you can become aware of your unfavourable subconscious stories and change them.

I’m also going to share a technique or process you can use to ask your higher self (or soul) what the antidote to your unfavourable stories is, so that you can create something different (this is a process I go through with my coaching clients.)

I’m going to give you this process, and you may well be able to go through it on your own.

OK, so how do you find out what your subconscious stories are?

This is easy. Just look at your past history and life so far.

Take your desired outcome, and look at the life area it is in.

Maybe it’s health, love, money, work, or whatever.

Go over your life history so far in that particular area, and see if you can spot the story that repeats. There is often a common thread.

So, for example, let’s say that a woman called Janine would like to manifest more money. She grew up poor not because her family didn’t have money but because a parent was mean and wouldn’t spend money on the things she needed. Maybe Janine often had shoes and clothes that were too small because her parents were too frugal.

Then later Janine never has enough money in her adult life. She sometimes goes without food to pay the utilities bill and make ends meet. Her parents have money but won’t help her out or pay for an education.

Janine gets into a new relationship with someone who seemed like a wonderful partner and this new partner asked to take a loan out for them to start a new business to the tune of $40,000 in just Janine’s name. She agreed. They paid some of it back but 18 months later, with $20,000 still left to pay on this loan, they disappeared and Janine found out she had no legal recourse and had to pay the rest of the loan, which she could hardly afford.

What is the energy behind this money story so far?

    • Betrayal
    • Lack
    • Being screwed over
    • Not being provided for
    • Being used/exploited
    • Struggle

These are the contents of Janine’s subconscious mind when it comes to money.

You know what is in your subconscious mind because your life bears witness to it. Your life will always tell the story loudly and honestly of what your subconscious is whispering, if you are willing to look at it with brutal honesty.

The unfavourable story doesn’t actually mean anything about you. The subconscious mind will in fact believe anything we tell it, no matter how false (just look at stage hypnosis videos to see how accurate this is). Therefore, if you have an unfavourable story, it just means that you were told something or concluded something unfavourable based on something that happened to you in the past, and you took it to heart (which happens especially when we are very young or we experience a trauma.)

Let’s take a look at another situation as an example:

Sandra grew up with a very critical and mean mother who was often unfavourably comparing her to her younger sister, who seemed to be more accomplished and prettier than she was. Sandra grew up not often feeling good enough, unwelcome and unwanted.

In adulthood, she’s had 2 significant past relationships. In 1 of them, she was cheated on, and in another she was left for a woman she felt was somehow “better” than her.

These two relationships and her childhood history are reflecting a story of her not being good enough to be in a happy relationship with a partner who adores her.

Here are the energies behind that story:

    • Lack of self-worth
    • Not good enoughness
    • Being defective
    • Being second best

So, investigating your past like this is one part of how you get to the heart of what is holding you back.

Another way to spot your subconscious thinking is to go on how you feel. If you often do not feel good and have bad moods that seem to come from nowhere, ask yourself why – what is the story behind that? Bad moods don’t come from nowhere. If they’re not connected to a current life event, they are the result of what you are subconsciously thinking.

For example, it took me about a year in 2021-2022 to come to terms with the fact that even after extensive inner work, I was still running a strong subconscious story of victimhood and powerlessness. I was going over past injustices and ways people had treated me badly in the past subconsciously because they were popping into my mind and I would feel disempowered and incapable somehow. The motto of these stories seemed to be “I can’t”.

So, if old memories pop into your mind from the past or you have repetitive dreams about past events, pay attention. These are often connected to subconscious stories you’re running in the here and now.

Your unfavourable subconscious story may not even be something that occurred as a result of your previous relationships or childhood — it could just be a result of the same thoughtless comment made by a couple of people on separate occasions or even ideas you’ve absorbed from the media.

For example, the media loves to push the idea that women are ‘past it’ when they get to their late thirties and forties. This can hold some women back when they are in their 30s or 40s or older, from consciously manifesting a new relationship, having a baby or even getting started on a new career path.

OK, back to the process of changing your subconscious stories…

Once you know what your unfavourable subconscious story is, identify the opposite of the negative energy you pinpointed.

For Sandra who was compared unfavourably to her sister, it would be:

    • Self-worth
    • Being first best
    • Being good enough
    • Being whole and complete, just as she is

For Janine, who has the bad financial situation, the opposite of those energies would be:

    • Abundance
    • Relaxation
    • Enoughness
    • Freedom
    • Trust (in others and herself)
    • Being provided for
    • Being taken care of
    • Being empowered

Then what you want to do is create affirmations that affirm the opposite of your unfavourable subconscious story. If you do this correctly and you hit the nail on the head with your affirmations, you can completely change your life and manifest what you want.

To get to the heart of her subconscious stories, Janine would want to affirm things like:

My world always takes such wonderful care of me (this is an affirmation from Vadim Zeland’s book Reality Transurfing, and it is an antidote to being deprived, used and exploited)

I can trust the people I love with my heart (an antidote to betrayal)

I am inherently abundant (an antidote to lack)

I am the place money and opportunities come from

I love that I always have more money than I need

I feel relaxed and secure in my life

I create everything that appears in my world, through what I focus on, affirm and think about

I am worthy of the best

I was always meant to be financially comfortable

These are the antidotes to Janine’s unfavourable story.

Sandra, with the critical mother (and partners who left her and cheated on her), would want to affirm things like:

I am always prioritised by my partner

    I put myself first

I am (more than) good enough

    I love everything about myself

I can trust the people I love with my heart

    I am first best

    I am always chosen

    I choose myself

    I love myself

    I am loved

    I am love

    I am wanted

I am worthy of the best

I know that I am so deserving of love

I know that I deserve an amazing relationship

    I am whole and complete

These affirmations get to the heart of her not enoughness, and this is why I love affirmations when used regularly — they are, in a short sentence, the refreshing antidote to our unfavourable subconscious stories.

How to know which affirmations to use, how often and for how long?

This is another question conscious manifestors often have.

Once you know you have your affirmation that gets to the heart of your unfavourable story and contradicts it, you should repeat it often for weeks or months until it becomes your new story on the inside.

I also have a process that I use sometimes and which I’ve passed on to a couple of my clients.

    My process for choosing affirmations

When I know what my dominant negative subconscious story is (let’s say in this example it’s powerlessness), I create affirmations which affirm the opposite.

I collect many variants on those affirmations, I create my own and maybe I also do some Google research (e.g. “affirmations for being a powerful creator”), I write the affirmations that resonate out by hand and usually I’ve got a few pages at least of affirmations.

So, for victimhood or powerlessness, I’d affirm things like:

    I am a powerful creator

    My imagination is God

As God, I shift realities easily and effortlessly

I create my world, based on what I focus on and affirm for

    My affirmations create my world

    I am powerful

    I love feeling so powerful

My whole world is a projection of my consciousness

Then I use pendulum dowsing and I ask my higher self, which affirmations do I need to focus on today?

(If you’d like to use this process, use these instructions to program your pendulum.)

    Next, say:

“My higher self, please be with me”

Next, inhale to the count of 4, hold your breath to the count of 4 and exhale to the count of 8. Repeat 3 times altogether.

Then say to your higher self: “please give me the affirmations that I need to say today.”

Next, ask your higher self: “how many affirmations do I focus on today?” Ask: “Is it more than 1/2/3/4 etc.” until you have the right number (I’d restrict it to 5 or 6 because it’s hard to memorise more than a few at a time.)

Then ask, for the first affirmation, is it on page 1/2/3/4 of my affirmations?

When I have the right page, I ask, is it the first affirmation, the second one, the third, etc. I go down all the affirmations until I’ve found the right one.

Then I take my affirmations for the day, I memorise them and I affirm robotically any chance I get (although note that I do this mindfully – I take care not to let my mind wander onto other topics while affirming.)

What I love about this process:

This may seem like a super anal way to approach manifestation, but it’s extremely powerful. Here’s why:

    1. We often don’t know which affirmations we really need that are really the antidote to our subconscious stories.

    2. Even if we manage to find the right affirmation, we often don’t know how long to do it for and we often don’t persist in it long enough.

    3. People have a tendency to stay away from the very affirmations they need. Often affirmations that contradict our dominant subconscious story trigger us and bring up negative emotion, or feel wrong, and like we’re lying and need to stop saying them.

I’ve had times where I ask my higher self which affirmations do I use today and I’m given the same three for the whole week, and I’m thinking: Really? I’m bored of these three now.

But then I experienced a shift in my self-concept because I persisted in using those affirmations. So, being prompted by our higher self to focus on a particular affirmation that we might otherwise unconsciously avoid can be very helpful.

This process of uncovering your subconscious stories and changing them is incredibly important work…

I believe going through this process is deep and sacred work that holds the key to not only transforming your life but also evolving your soul.

Most of us who have an unfavourable story will find it isn’t just restricted to this lifetime.

If you have for example been betrayed in this lifetime, you’ll find it has its roots in and is echoed by a past life. I believe we choose our family in this lifetime based on our karmic past and stories from past lives. Our family in this lifetime will insert certain subconscious beliefs into the mind based on what they teach us or what happens in childhood. We carry those stories with us all our lives, unless we change them. So, the person who is betrayed in a past life often learns in childhood this time around that other people can’t be trusted, and then experiences that self-fulfilling prophecy in the rest of their adult life.

If you want to break out of your soul’s karmic past and alter the trajectory of your soul’s future, this is how you do it. You locate your unfavourable story, you change it, and you live in that changed story until it manifests in the 3D.

Changing your unfavourable stories doesn’t always need to be hard, onerous, or complicated.

It doesn’t have to involve healing (although it sometimes can and does.)

It often involves affirming a new story and sticking to it as our new story, over a longer period of time. In doing this, at some point many people will become that person for whom the story is true.

Although, if after affirming for a long period you don’t see any inner change, I recommend you read this article, to assess if you need to do further inner work.

    Finally…

I wanted to share something that I believe about manifestation, in case it is interesting to my readers:

A friend said to me a while back “The thing I dislike about the Law of Attraction/manifesting space is that it’s selfish and individualistic, so focused on me, me, me and what I can get through manifesting.”

    I disagree.

I actually believe that when we desire something in the 3D and set about consciously manifesting it, what the soul is really after is the change in state that the 3D will bring about. The soul is, through the medium of desire, asking you to change and embody a higher state.

You can’t have the thing you want in the 3D until you give it to yourself in the 4D. For example, to manifest a loving relationship in the 3D you have to become loving and loveable on the inside.

By desiring a loving relationship, your soul is asking to embody a state of love.

When you achieve the loving relationship and sustain it in your life, you ascend in awareness to a more beautiful and loving state of being.

If we are all pieces of consciousness (and part of one larger consciousness), I believe that every time one of us manifests something positive that we desire, and ascends to a more beautiful state of being to achieve it, it impacts the whole wider consciousness — God. We are all pieces of God, on a journey back to God. Manifesting desires in your life is about ascending in your energy and in doing so, I believe it raises the vibration of the whole consciousness and Planet Earth itself.

Your desires are a clarion call from your soul. Embrace them, and become the person who has them. That way, in embracing a new state of being, you find your way back to God, and the whole consciousness benefits.

  • How to Use The Law of Assumption to Remove a Bully From Your Life

How to Use The Law of Assumption to Remove a Bully From Your Life

I wanted to share another success I have had with the Law of Assumption recently.

I recently moved house. Prior to moving, I had been living in a rental property for 3 years and the reason I needed to move was the landlady’s behaviour. I could write a book about all the things that had gone wrong with the property and the lack of maintenance, but in short she refused to maintain the property or replace/repair multiple broken appliances that came with the rental.

When I would bring these matters to her attention, she would become belligerent, and made it clear she did not consider it her responsibility to maintain the rental property.

To get this rectified, I would have had to take legal action, which I didn’t want to do. Instead, I decided to move out of the property.

I had left the rental property in better condition than it was in before I moved in (I repainted much of the interior of the house at my own cost) but to my dismay, I was told I wouldn’t be getting my rental deposit back in full.

We discussed the deposit shortly after I moved out, it devolved into a bitter argument and it was clear the landlady felt entitled to some of my deposit for spurious reasons. Although the law was on my side, since she was a belligerent and determined individual, I knew I faced the possibility of going to the tenancy tribunal to get the deposit back, which I didn’t want to do.

I didn’t care about the money (it wasn’t a large deposit) nor was I in need of it. Instead, it was the principle of it. I was tired of being bullied and I wasn’t going to put up with it anymore.

Upon leaving the rental back in June, I felt quite angry about how I’d been treated.

Before applying for the deposit back, I decided to wait to let those feelings of anger pass. I had old stories of victimhood running through my mind for a few weeks and I had to cut those stories off time and time again in my mind, until eventually I started to forget about it.

When I did think about the situation, I used a prayer, which went as follows:

Thank you <belligerent landlady> for giving my deposit back in full.

I forgive you for how you treated me.

The karma between us is complete.

    Go in peace.

I said this prayer on and off for several weeks until I felt like I was definitely getting the deposit back.

It was important to me that I got rid of this person from my life forever, so I didn’t apply for the deposit back until I felt free of her, inside my mind.

Then when I knew my subconscious mind was impressed, I applied for the deposit back and I was told that the landlady had a few days earlier applied for my deposit to come back to me in full, and it was being processed. The people in my life who knew all the details of what had gone on with this person were very surprised. None of them expected me to get it back without a legal fight.

The prayer above is helpful to use if someone who has bullied or harmed you in some way and you want them out of your life. It is simple and powerful, but it works. (In fact, any prayer you use consistently like this will work, simply because your thoughts and words are that powerful.) You can also adapt this prayer to suit your circumstances – just remove the words ‘for giving my deposit back’ and replace them with what you want to happen in your 3D reality. I probably wouldn’t use this prayer unless you want someone to leave your life altogether because the wording of it does imply finality.

Recently I watched a really great interview with lottery winner Cynthia Stafford.

In 2004, Cynthia Stafford decided that she wanted to win the lottery and began using conscious manifesting techniques to achieve this. In 2007, she won $112 million on the lottery which she attributes to her persistence in manifesting.

I love manifesting stories from people who achieved big success, mainly so I can learn from their experience.

You can get the lessons by watching the whole interview above, but if like me you’re not really a fan of watching videos, in this article I’ve summed up the main points that I took from this interview that can in fact be applied to any manifestation.

    Lesson #1: Manifesting Techniques

In the interview, Stafford tells how she began her manifesting journey by reading Joseph Murphy’s book The Power of the Subconscious Mind. (Joseph Murphy was also trained in the Law of Assumption by Neville Goddard’s teacher & I highly recommend his book The Power of the Subconscious Mind.)

She says she used the following techniques to manifest her win:

    • She wrote her intention down (essentially, she set a written intention)
    • She made a vision board and looked at it daily
    • She used affirmations
    • She often visualised herself holding the lottery cheque, and she felt how it felt to win. She even visualised the exact amount she was going to win (which she did in fact win), which makes it even clearer that this was not a lucky fluke!
    • She “got into the vibration of being a winner” as she put it — essentially, she created a new self who had won the lottery, and she became it (I have an article on that technique here.)

In my opinion, the manifesting techniques that you use are not that important. The main thing is that the techniques you choose are ones that appeal to you, and that you enjoy using.

You can find a list of manifesting techniques for manifesting any intention here.

    Lesson #2: Persistence

Since it took Stafford 3 years to manifest that lottery win, there was clearly a lot of persistence involved in her manifesting process.

She said she trained like an Olympic athlete long term to remain in the state of the wish fulfilled of having won the lottery, on a daily basis.

I find this the most valuable lesson of all from her interview.

What I took from this is that if you have a big intention, you can expect to do a lot of inner work that may even take you years.

What kinds of intentions count as big intentions?

You can expect these kinds of intentions to take a while…sometimes, but not always.

Lesson #3: You’ve got to want it for the right reasons

In order to be motivated enough to consciously manifest an outcome like this over a period of 3 years, you have to really want it and your reasons need to be powerful ones.

One of Cynthia Stafford’s reasons for wanting to win the lottery was because she had been given custody of several children of a family member, and then she had lost custody of them because of an assessment made by a social worker that the children would be better off in foster care, which Stafford disagreed with. In order to get the children back, she would have had to spend large amounts of money on a lawyer, which she didn’t have.

It sounded to me like a large part of her reason for wanting to win was to get the children back and have the means to look after them.

Her intention seemed to be about love. Personally I feel that this would have had a lot to do with her success.

People who want to win the lottery because they hate their job and hate their lives are unlikely to be successful. This is because of the law of karma.

Let me give you an example of this.

Let’s say that you are renting a house. The landlord asks you if you’d like to renew your lease for another year. You’ve had an awful time with rental properties in the past – every time you get settled, the landlord either decides they want to move back in, or the lease isn’t renewed for some other reason. You have children and pets, and moving with your kids and pets in tow is traumatic each time. Maybe you’ve moved your kids several times already in their short lives. So, when you renew your lease out of fear and trauma because you hate moving and don’t want to move again, the consequences of that will be that you create more things to be fearful about, when it comes to your living situation.

But if you decide to renew the lease because you’d like more stability in your life — you know you deserve that and you’re embodying stability in the way you live — you will create more of that stability when you decide to renew your lease.

So, whatever energies we’re focused on and dealing in, is what we will see more of.

If you make a choice out of fear, you will create more fear. If you make a choice out of hating your job, you will create more of hating your job.

    We reap what we sow.

So, this is something to bear in mind. If you want to win the lottery because you hate your life and you want to escape it, you’re less likely to be successful.

Instead I recommend working on creating a life you love. Then you will be able to come at the intention of manifesting a lottery win with more likelihood of winning.

I also find that sometimes people want to win the lottery because they perceive that it would solve a bunch of problems for them (such as hating their job and needing to buy a house.)

But often it’s easier and quicker just to find another intention and work on manifesting that. So, if you work long hours in an uninspiring job with a boss you hate, manifest work that you enjoy for 30 hours per week, with a great boss, or being your own boss. (I have a free guide to the Law of Assumption here, which teaches you how to manifest intentions like these.)

Then once you’ve manifested work you enjoy, you can work on manifesting owning your own home. This will be much quicker and easier than manifesting a lottery win.

So, that’s just something to think about if you have a life you don’t enjoy.

Let’s get back to the other lessons we can learn from Cynthia Stafford’s story:

    Lesson #4: Faith

Cynthia Stafford came from a Christian background and was a woman of faith.

She really believed she was going to win the lottery — her belief was so strong that she even interviewed financial advisors to help her manage the money, before she won!

In the interview, she quoted a Bible passage that had inspired her:

“For truly I tell you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.“ (Matthew 17:20-21).

Every time Cynthia Stafford didn’t win the lottery, she would tell herself “maybe not this time, but it will happen”. She didn’t get discouraged and she didn’t deviate from that sense of faith she had that she was going to win the lottery.

I don’t believe that total faith in your power as a creator is 100% necessary to manifest an intention (after all, the Law of Assumption is at work all of the time, whether we know it or not.) But having said that, I do think that faith can really super-charge our intentions and allow us to persist in our desires.

(If you’re a beginner and you’d like to build your faith in the Law of Assumption, try out Neville Goddard’s ladder exercise.)

Lesson #5: Feeding the mind with positive things

Stafford mentioned that she made it her job to feed her mind with positive information, and she read inspiring books about manifestation regularly to help her keep the faith.

If you are currently using the Law of Assumption to manifest an outcome in your life, and you don’t yet own a copy of either Joseph Murphy’s The Power of Your Subconscious Mind or Neville Goddard’s Complete Reader, you need to get onto that.

I read a few pages of Neville Goddard’s work every night before I go to sleep. There is huge power in his words and the stories he shares in his work and any Law of Assumption student and conscious manifestor needs to be reading one of those books. Just reading my blog or watching someone’s Law of Assumption YouTube channel isn’t enough. It should be an add on to those works written by Goddard or Murphy.

Another great book to read is Frederick Dobson’s book Parallel Universes of Self.

Lesson #6: She reached the Sabbath

Stafford mentioned in the interview that after having used techniques to manifest her lottery win for a while, she stopped using them, and didn’t think as much about her desire to win the lottery. It sounds to me like she entered the Sabbath, a state that many conscious creators get to once they know their manifestation is on the way. You can read more about the Sabbath (and how to know you’ve reached it) here.

    Lesson #7: Self-concept is important

I added this point a few months after I published this article because I found out that Cynthia Stafford (like many lottery winners) later went bankrupt and had to rebuild from scratch.

What can we learn from this part of her story?

We know from Neville Goddard’s work that your reality reflects your self-concept.

As within, so without — whoever you believe yourself to be, is what manifests in your external reality.

To manifest a large sum of money, Cynthia Stafford would have convinced herself that she was an extremely lucky lottery winner.

What she didn’t manage to convince herself of is that she was someone who was great at managing money and a long-term wealthy person.

It looks like she focused on the former (being the lucky lottery winner) but not the latter (being the wealthy person.)

Either that, or she had something in her subconscious mind or energy field that she was still unaware of, and which was emitting poverty and cancelling out her intention to remain wealthy.

This is the main problem with how many people these days are using the Law of Assumption. Most do not know the unfavourable ‘stories’ their subconscious mind contains. Most are using affirmations to “mow over a weed” in their “lawn” every day or every week. This means they are using affirmations to neutralise their long-term negative beliefs. Living that way is exhausting and it’s not how I teach people to use the Law of Assumption.

Using affirmations can be great, but not when people have limiting beliefs and they are not doing the work to pull those beliefs out at the root.

So, my experience with the Law of Assumption community is that not many people are pulling the weeds up at the root.

The subconscious mind often contains negative beliefs that come from childhood (which in turn often come from past lives.) If you’re just putting new favourable stories into your subconscious mind, but you also have negative stories, you’re just treading water. You’re not going anywhere. The two will be cancelling each other out.

In that scenario, you will need to do some inner work to pull out the weeds, so to speak. You may need to revise, or consider other forms of deep inner work.

Some people need to do deep inner work to manifest, and others don’t.

My guess is that Cynthia Stafford was someone who needed that kind of inner work but failed to do it. She was still living out an old story of poverty, even after she won.

Here are some articles which go into that further:

    1. How to revise (in my opinion this is the best way to remove limiting beliefs)
    2. How to work out whether you need deep inner work to remove negative beliefs as part of your manifesting process (this long article goes into the topic of karma) — this is something many people in the Law of Assumption community often do not address, to their detriment. It is the number 1 reason people struggle long term to create what they want and hold onto it.

  • Why I Don’t Recommend Using Trauma Therapies While Consciously Manifesting

Why I Don’t Recommend Using Trauma Therapies While Consciously Manifesting

A common question I get from coaching clients is:

Do you need to heal before you use the Law of Assumption?

    And:

Is it OK if I resolve trauma while I’m working on consciously manifesting a new outcome in my life?

This is a complicated and nuanced topic and I’m going to try to bring as much nuance to it as possible.

I find great value in healing and trauma therapies. But at the same time I don’t recommend actively resolving trauma with a therapist while consciously using the Law of Assumption to manifest a new outcome in your life.

This is just my perspective based on my personal experiences. Below I explain why.

I have an extensive history with trauma, beginning in childhood and continuing throughout adulthood (my ACE score is 8/10.) I had C-PTSD for my entire adult life but finally let go of it in the last couple of years.

I used healing modalities and trauma therapies for around 12 years. I made a lot of progress, but I didn’t get rid of the C-PTSD through these modalities.

When it comes to manifesting a new outcome in your life, the problem with many healing modalities is that you’re focusing on the old story (of past trauma) while you’re doing them.

Focusing on old stories is going to yield more of the same in your 3D reality.

To manifest a different outcome in your life, you have to “become” that person on the inside, who is experiencing your desired outcome. You have to change on the inside — there is “nothing to change but self”, according to Neville Goddard.

Therefore, if you want to see significant change in your 3D, you need to significantly change on the inside, in terms of your thoughts, feelings, moods, assumptions, beliefs and identity/self-concept.

It’s very difficult to do this while you are “running old stories” and focusing on the past.

So, if you are currently using a trauma therapy, and you’re also consciously manifesting a new outcome in your life, the two cancel each other out to a large degree.

The trauma therapy has you focusing on the old story and the manifesting practices have you focusing on a new story. You may make some progress, but you won’t make as much progress in manifesting a new outcome because these two do neutralise each other energetically to some extent.

    The nuance

Note that healing modalities and trauma therapies have their place. I don’t feel my time was wasted with them.

But they may not fully heal C-PTSD or trauma. They will get you some of the way there. I believe that to heal fully, you need to do your trauma therapy, then switch to manifesting. Using the manifesting practices is what finally regulated my nervous system, and my nervous system didn’t become regulated until I started using manifesting practices.

I still occasionally get dysregulated/triggered, but when I do, I notice quickly and I am able to re-regulate by myself within minutes. This is such a big change for me on how things used to be, because I used to spend days in a state of dysregulation. Essentially, in the last 18 months I’ve retrained my body and mind so that my autonomic nervous system is under my conscious control.

Manifesting practices have been a large part of being able to do that.

But the following work did also contribute to this end result of me being able to re-regulate myself:

    • Craniosacral therapy
    • Body-centred psychotherapy/Hakomi
    • EMDR
    • “Parts work”/Internal family systems
    • Revision.

I would say the healing got me 60-70% of the way there and the manifesting practices were the icing and the cherry on top of the “nervous system cake”.

So, to sum up my views on healing and manifesting

    1. Trauma therapies and conscious manifesting practices are not compatible, in my view, if the trauma therapy involves going over past negative experiences (EMDR is a good example of this). There’s a time for one and a time for the other. They shouldn’t be done in tandem unless you’re OK with wasting some of your time and energy on manifesting practices that may yield little to no results. Personally I feel that is a bad idea because it will cause you to feel that manifesting isn’t for you and that it doesn’t create much change in the 3D.

    2. You don’t need to heal 100% before you start using Law of Assumption practices. However, if you find that if you are too dysregulated to actually use techniques or start a routine with daily practices, healing may be helpful before you start.

    3. While consciously manifesting, it may be OK to use healing modalities that don’t go over past negative experiences, such as internal family systems or inner child work.

    4. A great technique to use for those who dissociate, is robotic affirming or listening to affirmations that you recorded for yourself. You can use that technique no matter how you feel.

    5. If you are traumatised and you manifest consciously while dysregulated or while engaging in a lot of negative thinking, you can sometimes succeed, but in my experience your bridge of incidents will be rockier than for someone who doesn’t consciously manifest from that place.

    6. One of the things I’ve had to let go of with my extensive background in healing and trauma, is that there’s something wrong with me. I’m not broken and I don’t need anymore healing.

The problem with the healing techniques when used for years and years is that they reinforce the old story that you need healing. If you focus on healing work for a very long time, what you’ll see in your life is more healing work. If you have had C-PTSD, I’m sure you know what that’s like. The healing can be never-ending.

Update Feb 2025: Neville Goddard’s DIY revision technique can be especially helpful for people who have experienced a lot of trauma (since it deals with healing the past, it should not be done alongside LOA techniques that focus on manifesting a desired outcome.)

  • How to Reach The ‘Sabbath’ & Signs You’re in the Sabbath

    [et_pb_section fb_built=”1″ admin_label=”section” _builder_version=”4.16″ global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_row admin_label=”row” _builder_version=”4.16″ background_size=”initial” background_position=”top_left” background_repeat=”repeat” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″ _builder_version=”4.16″ custom_padding=”|||” global_colors_info=”{}” custom_padding__hover=”|||”][et_pb_text admin_label=”Text” _builder_version=”4.27.2″ background_size=”initial” background_position=”top_left” background_repeat=”repeat” hover_enabled=”0″ global_colors_info=”{}” sticky_enabled=”0″]

In this article I’m going to talk about Neville Goddard’s concept of “The Sabbath” as it relates to manifesting.

A common reason for people not manifesting what they want in the 3D is that they do not persist with “doing the work” of the manifesting process, and they don’t reach the Sabbath state.

In order to manifest something in the 3D, your subconscious mind has to believe it is already yours, or you are already are that person who has that thing that you want. You have to live from that sense of the wish fulfilled.

Essentially, your subconscious mind has to be impressed.

This means your subconscious mind has accepted it is living in your new reality where you have your desire, even though it hasn’t yet shown up in the 3D.

Neville Goddard called this state ‘The Sabbath’. He called it the Sabbath because in the Bible, God spent 6 days making the world, and rested on the Sabbath day.

There were two stages to God’s creation — the labouring and the resting.

We are pieces of God – or as the physicist Thomas Campbell calls human beings: “individuated units of consciousness”. We also have the power to create. Our imagination is God, according to Neville Goddard. And likewise, there are two stages to our creation or manifestation process.

The first stage is the labouring — where you put in the work to impress your subconscious mind of a new reality, regardless of what your 3D reality is telling you.

The second stage is where you’ve put in the work and you’re resting in the Sabbath state. At this point you won’t need to put in more work, but you do need to be careful you don’t come out of the Sabbath by identifying often with thoughts that don’t align with what you’re creating. By this point, your desire is done, in the 4D of your mind. You will have stopped being the “old man” as Neville Goddard calls it, and become the new self. Because there’s a time lapse between creation in the 4D and creation in the 3D, you also have to just wait for your creation to show up in the 3D.

Let’s look at how this looks in reality, with an example:

Let’s say you want to let go of a health condition, such as eczema. Usually when you start out with creating this, your subconscious mind will only be partly impressed. Using my pendulum, I measure for my coaching clients in a percentage how impressed their subconscious mind is by their desire. Most people I coach have a subconscious mind that is between 10-70% impressed.

Let’s say our person who has eczema has a subconscious mind that is 25% impressed that they don’t have eczema. This person has some work to do. That work may consist of techniques such as affirmations like “I love how clear and healthy my skin is.” It may consist of scripting or SATS/visualisation. (I have a list of manifesting techniques here.)

Because this person’s subconscious mind is only 25% impressed, it may take days, weeks or months or even longer than a year to become 100% impressed.

Every time this person practises their techniques for the day, they will go from 25% impressed to maybe 25.5% impressed. But if they backtrack and identify with negative thoughts they’re having like “this is never going to work for me” or “I don’t believe healing is possible without meds” then they will go back to 25%.

So, to see progress in impressing the subconscious mind, you have to:

    • Keep a mental diet (very important) — if you have thoughts that don’t align with your intention, simply say to yourself: “no, that is not my end result” and affirm the opposite, otherwise you’re backtracking on yourself
    • Do techniques
    • Do them every day, not just once in a while
    • Ignore the 3D
    • Avoid consuming media and info that will take you off track (for example, if you’re in a Facebook group for eczema sufferers, you stop reading those posts or even better, come off social media while you’re manifesting this)
    • Ensure your self concept is in alignment with this intention — so, affirm for that too, e.g. “I deserve to have perfectly clear and healthy skin” and “I was always meant to have healthy skin”
    • Release importance (not everyone needs to do this but it’s often very applicable to health intentions, especially debilitating health conditions that really affect our lives)
    • And if you have a karmic complex that relates to the health condition, you need to identify and release that.

You have to do all of the above and persist at it, until your subconscious mind is 100% impressed that you have healthy, clear skin in the 4D (so, in the world behind your eyes.)

Can you see why many people fail to manifest outcomes in the 3D? It’s possible to do, but it’s a lot to ask. It takes persistence to change the self in this way.

(And as an aside, it often takes the most persistence for big intentions, such as going from having eczema all your life to no longer having it. As an example of this, I recently listened to an interview with Cynthia Stafford, a woman who manifested a $112 million lottery win in 2007. She said she trained like an Olympian athlete doing affirmations and living in the end everyday for 3 years to have that lottery win. So, the bigger your intention is, often the longer you need to persist.)

Here are 4 signs you’re in the Sabbath:

    1. You’ll just feel a sense of “it is done”, even if you’re not seeing it in the 3D you will still feel it is done. If you see your 3D isn’t showing evidence of your desire being here, you simply won’t care because you will know it is done.

    2. You won’t be thinking of your desire anymore, and instead you’ll be thinking from it.

    3. If any thoughts come up that are contrary to your desire, you’ll be able to tell yourself “no that is not my end result” without backtracking back into the “old man” as Neville Goddard calls it.

    4. You no longer yearn for your end result or have a strong desire for it, because you feel you already have it.

So, those are the 4 signs you’re in the sabbath.

Respect where you are in your process

I differ from some manifestation teachers in that I believe in the first stage, where you’re impressing your subconscious mind, you have to put in the work, and you have to do it everyday.

I advocate for using techniques, a lot.

Some manifestation teachers say: don’t use techniques, just live in the wish fulfilled instead and BE that person who has your desire.

You can’t BE that person until you’ve put some work in. A person whose subconscious mind is 25% impressed isn’t always going to be able to instantly jump from 25% to 70% impressed (where they can access that feeling of the wish fulfilled consistently) just because a manifestation teacher thinks they should.

There’s a time for ‘allowing’ and living in the end, and it usually isn’t when you’re in the beginning stages of manifesting — that comes later.

So, make sure you know about these 2 stages and respect where you are in your process. Know when you’re in the ‘allowing’ stage (in the Sabbath or close to it) where you can just live in the end, and know when you’re in the ‘labouring’ stage (which could be anything from 0%-99% impressed) where you need to use your affirmations and visualisations.

You may also have shorter times of allowing and feeling “it is done” while you’re labouring, and as you feel that, you may just feel less need for the techniques. And then perhaps you’ll feel like that for a few days, then you may go back to your techniques.

We cycle in and out of labouring and allowing/living in the end, while we’re getting close to impressing our subconscious minds.

Be flexible (but also vigilant) in this process.

    Once you’re in the Sabbath…

…you need to wait for the 3D to shift to reflect your 4D reality. There is a time lapse between the 4D and the 3D. In my experience working with clients, it’s often 2-8 weeks. For some, it can be longer or shorter, and the time lapse can vary from one intention to the next. So, after you’re in the Sabbath, you may need to wait days, weeks or months for your desire to manifest in the 3D. By this point though, you won’t care because you’ll know it is done.

  • Do You Need to Take Action When Manifesting?

This is a question I am sometimes asked by my Law of Assumption coaching clients.

What do I mean by taking action to manifest?

Well, let’s say that you would like to manifest a new business. You write out a list of steps you need to take to create this business and get started. Conventional wisdom (and some Law of Attraction teachings) say that a great way to align with your goal and get started is to simply take action.

I disagree, and in this article I’m going to explain why.

When using the Law of Assumption, you don’t need to take action on your goals, at least not the kind of action I’ve referred to above — the strategic kind, where you come up with a list of steps and then execute on them one by one, regardless of how you’re thinking and feeling about it.

Let’s look at what Neville Goddard, the amazing Law of Assumption teacher, said about this.

“To attempt to change circumstances before you change your imaginal activity, is to struggle against the very nature of things. There can be no outer change until there is first an imaginal change. Everything you do, unaccompanied by an imaginal change, is but futile readjustment of surfaces. Imagining the wish fulfilled brings about a union with that state, and during that union you behave in keeping with your imaginal change”

Neville Goddard, in his book ‘The Law and The Promise’

So, here Neville is saying that trying to create a change in the 3D (by taking action, for example), without first changing what you are imagining, feeling and thinking, is pointless. It’s just a “futile readjustment of surfaces.”

I’m sure that you have experienced this. Lots of us make New Years resolutions, and most people break them. Let’s say that you join a gym at the start of the year, and you resolve to go twice a week. But underneath you don’t believe you will be able to attend the gym and work out twice a week because you haven’t managed it in the past, and subconsciously you are telling yourself “you’re a failure because you haven’t managed it before, and you aren’t going to manage it this time. Remember that time you wasted $950 on an annual gym subscription in 2015? You only went once!!”

If you try to attend the gym regularly with this thinking, you will fail

Stuff will happen to sabotage you. You will get sick for 2 weeks, then the next time you go, you’ll get held up after a traffic accident and the gym will be shut by the time you get there. Then something will happen with your children or work, which means you have even less time to go to the gym. It seems like it’s not meant to be, and you end up giving up.

But if you first change your imaginal activity, seeing yourself as fit and strong, enjoying working out, and feeling a sense of achievement and wellbeing as you come away from the gym, and if you affirm that “I go to the gym twice a week and I feel great about it” and if you interrupt the thoughts of “you’re a failure because you never managed this before”, after a few weeks of doing this daily, there will be no sabotage in your 3D world. You will (maybe for the first time in your life) feel like going to the gym and working out and you won’t have to drag yourself there.

This is what Neville is referring to.

Your current thinking and beliefs are fueling what you see in your 3D and keeping you in a certain, limited ‘box’. You cannot bust out of that box in the 3D unless you change your thinking.

I’ll give you another example of how this works.

When I set the intention to improve my physical health a while back, I didn’t really believe I could create this change and I had a lot of resistance and fear. So, initially what I did was spend a couple of hours per day researching on the internet and reading books about health. I was on a mission to find the thing that could improve my health. I read around 70 books on health and nutrition as part of this process.

I had a list of strategies from all of this research and I was going through them one by one — things like, reducing toxins in my environment by filtering my water or taking a new probiotic. I didn’t feel called to do these things; instead I was seeking these solutions out with the energy of fear and desperation and hoping one of them might be the solution.

My health didn’t improve that much while I was doing this, and it was because I was just ‘readjusting surfaces’. I wasn’t really affirming regularly for my health, nor was I visualising it with any consistency. (Deep down I was too scared to do that, in case it didn’t work.)

However, when I did start visualising regularly for improved health, a Bridge of Incidents began, and it happened in a way I could never have predicted. In short, I felt called to come off an anti-depressant I was on, and when I was experiencing horrible withdrawal symptoms from it, I stumbled across a protocol that I knew was part of my solution, and I’ve been on it ever since, resulting in much improved health.

The Bridge of Incidents offered this solution up to me and threw it into my path.

I didn’t find this protocol through strategising and plotting how I was going to improve my health. Instead it came into my awareness through something unrelated (I was coming off an anti-depressant and needed help with the withdrawal.)

Can you see the difference between these two types of action?

In one of them, I was anxiously seeking out solutions that didn’t really seem like the answer (like buying a fancy water filter and taking a special probiotic), and throwing things against the wall to see what would stick.

In the other scenario, I serendipitously came across the solution in a bridge of incidents, and I wasn’t even looking for it. When I stumbled upon it, it seemed like a no brainer – there was no doubt about doing it.

    So, in summary…

Yes, it’s good to take action on your intentions.

But you should only take action if it’s prompted and it feels right. If you have to talk yourself into something and weigh up pros and cons, it’s probably not right.

The Bridge of Incidents will shove something in your face (sometimes literally) if you’re meant to take action on it. You won’t question whether you need to go ahead with it — you just will!

    What more can I be?

This topic reminds me of a great video I watched by Tom Kearin of Be Something Wonderful (a Law of Assumption YouTube channel). He had a question from a listener who had health problems, and the listener said “I’ve tried everything to change my health — I’m not sure what else I can do!” (the video is here.)

And Tom replied, the question you are asking shouldn’t be “what more can I do?” — it should be, “what more can I be?”

In pursuing your intention, don’t try to ‘do more’ in the 3D. Instead, try to ‘be more’.

Change yourself and the outer world (and your circumstances) will change.

    How can you change yourself?

Become the person who has your desire by visualising your intention a couple of times per day.

Or affirm for your intention (and if you want quick results, use robotic affirming for a couple of hours per day.)

Ask yourself: who would I be if I had reached my goal? Go after that (instead of the 3D goal.) The right action will truly flow from there.

  • Mental Diet Part 2 — What are you consuming and how is it affecting your manifesting process?

Mental Diet Part 2 — What are you consuming and how is it affecting your manifesting process?

This article is for people who are using the Law of Assumption to consciously create their lives.

(You can read my first article on mental diet here. )

In this second article on the topic of mental diet, I’m going to talk about an aspect of your mental diet that is worth considering: what you are consuming throughout your day, in terms of media. I’m going to recommend some tweaks you can make to your daily routine & activities that can yield big results for manifesting.

    Neville Goddard & Mental diets

Neville Goddard often talked about the importance of a mental diet for aligning with the reality you wish to create. Here are some quotes from his 1955 lecture “Mental Diets.”

“Talking to oneself is a habit everyone indulges in. We could no more stop talking to ourselves than we could stop eating and drinking. All that we can do is control the nature and the direction of our inner conversations. Most of us are totally unaware of the fact that our inner conversations are the causes of the circumstance of our life.”

“A man’s mental conversations attracts his life. As long as there is no change in his inner talking, the personal history of the man remains the same. To attempt to change the world before we change our inner talking is to struggle against the very nature of things. Man can go round and round in the same circle of disappointments and misfortunes, not seeing them as caused by his own negative inner talking, but as caused by others.”

So in these quotes, Neville Goddard is saying that our inner conversations (i.e. what we say to ourselves in the privacy of our own minds) direct the course of our life.

Ideally our inner conversations are not going to be negative. The problem is that negative stories are all around us in our culture (in social media, in the news, in songs, in books, and in movies & TV) and we do consume them in a passive way without even thinking about what it is doing to our subconscious mind, and this can negatively affect our inner conversations.

We are wired for empathy. When we see or hear about someone else having a negative experience, the mirror neurons in our brain are activated, and we unconsciously imagine ourselves in the situation(s) we are hearing or reading about. Then we have thoughts and feelings that align with these situations. Some of this occurs on an unconscious level, and different people are affected to different degrees by this (- if you are an empath or know you have a suggestible subconscious mind, then you will be affected more than most.)

Therefore, when we are engaging in a process of manifesting our desires, it helps to eliminate any negative input that could lead us down an unfavourable pathway in the mind, and see us unwittingly imagining unfavourable situations for ourselves or others.

The subconscious mind is just like a computer, and everything we take in, in terms of what we think, we what say to ourselves, what we say out loud, what other people say to us and what we hear around us, programs this computer (and creates our life), for better or worse.

The fact is, we can spend 30 minutes doing great work in terms of reprogramming the subconscious mind towards something favourable, through affirmations or visualisations, or just resting in the state of the wish fulfilled. And we can undo all of that good work in just a few minutes by passively consuming something really toxic. We create everything in our lives according to the contents of our subconscious mind. And the subconscious mind is really easy and quick to reprogram, which is great when we want to use techniques to reprogram ourselves for something favourable, but it’s also not so great when we accidentally take in information that reprograms the subconscious towards something unfavourable.

So I recommend that you become aware of the potentially negative sources of information in your life, and eliminate them while you are going through this process of creating a desired outcome through manifesting. Otherwise you may be sabotaging yourself.

    Here they are:

Conversations about things you don’t wish to see more of in your life

Sometimes people are working on manifesting a particular intention, for example, more money, but then they find that they keep having conversations with their spouse about how they don’t have enough money. If you’re manifesting money, you don’t want to be hearing people complain about money nor do you want to be affirming “we can’t afford that” or “we don’t have enough money.” Do what you can to avoid these conversations as much as possible.

    Therapy

This also applies to getting psychotherapy or counselling. I think therapy is often helpful, but it may not be helpful in a situation where you are manifesting something in a particular area of your life but then talking negatively about that life area in therapy. For example, you are manifesting an improvement in your relationship, but you’re often talking in therapy about what is going wrong in the relationship. When manifesting, I prefer to use therapy strictly for problem solving and not to vent. Otherwise, I’m focusing on something I do not want to see more of in my life.

    News

I highly recommend not reading or watching the news while you are in this process. I don’t think many people reading this article need convincing that news is toxic. We all know this already. It is a run down of the most horrible and sensational things that are happening or have recently happened on the planet today. Studies show that consuming news triggers the limbic system of the brain and raises stress hormones in the body, like cortisol. Raised cortisol can cause your immune and your digestive systems to function less efficiently. There are many other side effects of elevated cortisol, too, that I won’t go into here, but suffice to say news is bad for the mind, bad for the body, and can steer your inner conversations in an unfavourable direction, undoing your previous good work.

An example of this is if you are currently working on manifesting a higher income, but you keep seeing news stories about rising inflation, high house prices and people experiencing poverty and hardship. This is going to trigger the limbic system of your brain that is tasked with your survival, and you will be taking in the message that “it is hard to get ahead and normal to struggle.” How is this going to help you to “live in the end” of having more prosperity in your life? It is doing the exact opposite.

So, if there’s one change I can recommend you can make to manifest more of what you want, I would say give up news altogether. Your life will become more peaceful overnight.

I recommend asking a friend or family member to notify you if there is any news that you really should know about, and then stop reading or watching.

    Social media/online forums

The same goes for most of the spaces where people gather online. If it’s on a social media website or it’s an online forum, the algorithms are geared towards strong emotions, such as anger. If you can evoke a strong negative emotion in someone, the more likely he or she is to react and engage with the social media content, and the longer the person spends on that website and the more likely they are to share things and bring in other users. The longer they spend on the website and the more they share the content, the more ad revenue the social media company or forum will make.

So social media and online forums make money off our negative emotions. They are like vampires. The less time you spend on them, the better.

Reading or watching stories about triggering topics

If there is a cause that is dear to your heart, but also triggers negative emotions in you, be careful about engaging with it while you are in the manifesting process.

For example, if you’re an animal lover, don’t read or watch stories of animals that have been neglected or abused, even if that story has a happy ending. Know the triggers that are going to upset you or make you feel negative emotion. This can cause you to slip into an undesirable state while you’re in this process.

    Songs

When I was first getting into manifesting and I was doing the DNRS program (which is actually a program for applying the principles of the Law of Assumption for improving health, although it doesn’t present or market itself that way) I was encouraged to only listen to uplifting music, and no sad lyrics.

So, I went through my YouTube playlists and I found that many of the songs I had in them were sad and depressing. I was a sucker for a sad love song, in particular. I started to observe what these songs were doing to my state of mind when I listened.

I found that when I listened to a sad love song, it would activate memories of times when I listened to that song when I was sad, such as after a break up. In a flash, it put me into that old self that was suffering. Activating such memories was bittersweet.

Be careful of the lyrical content of the songs you listen to. Read the lyrics. Feel the energy. Your subconscious is taking this stuff in and receiving info about what kind of reality you’re living in right now (which is what creates your future), so don’t listen to anything with negative undertones, when you’re in the conscious manifesting process.

As an example, if you’re manifesting money, you don’t want to be listening to stuff like this or this.

Instead, listen to positive, uplifting music.

Note that this isn’t about repressing emotion. If you already feel bad and need to have a cry, sad music can be a great way to get it out of you and it’s fine to cry. I’m not talking about that. Instead, I’m saying that if you already feel OK, don’t listen to music that may elicit a change of state in the negative direction.

(As an aside, remember that negative emotions on their own don’t manifest our lives – what manifests are the negative emotions and thoughts we actually identify with consistently, day after day.)

    TV and Movies

Similarly, when manifesting be careful of what you watch. Don’t watch violence, or stories where people are struggling or depressed. Some of this will be specific to what you are manifesting. For example, if you’re manifesting an improved relationship, don’t watch a movie or TV show about an unhappy couple. These stories can plant unfavourable seeds in our subconscious minds or cause you to focus on an existing unfavourable story that you’re running inside your mind, that you really need to take your focus off.

    True crime

Stay away also from true crime. I’m a fan of true crime so this one was hardest for me. Darkness and sickness are the underlying energies associated with most true crime stories. These are not energies you want entering your subconscious mind while you’re consciously manifesting a positive outcome in your life.

In summary, don’t feed your mind garbage while you’re manifesting. What is going on behind your eyes is what you will see in your life maybe several weeks from now, and what is going on behind your eyes is powerfully affected by what you consume.

Here are some ideas as to what you can consume instead of the above:

    • Gaia.com documentaries – I particularly like the Dr Joe Dispenza Rewired series on there. They do a free 7 day trial.
    • I find that cooking shows and travel documentaries are always very “neutral” in terms of how they affect my state, so I watch a lot of travel documentaries on YouTube.
    • I love watching this YouTube channel: Scenic Relaxation, which combines beautiful music with panoramic drone footage of various countries.
