How to Improve Your Health Using the Law of Assumption — Part 3

This is the final instalment in the series of articles I’ve been writing on how to improve your health using the Law of Assumption.

In part 1, I looked at how to cultivate your belief that it’s possible to change your health (because many of us have been brainwashed by conventional medicine to believe it isn’t possible.)

And in part 2, I talked about how to take your focus off what you don’t want.

I recommend reading both of these articles before reading this one.

In this final article (part 3) I’m going to talk about how to put your focus back onto what you DO want to see in your health.

Put these 3 articles together and you have a complete roadmap for improving your health using the Law of Assumption. This roadmap is something that has worked brilliantly for me so I hope you find it helpful, too.

     OK, let’s get into it:

In order to manifest good health, you have to put your focus on what you do want to see — good health.

How do you actually do this?

The Law of Assumption differs from other methods of manifesting in that it teaches that the most effective way to manifest is not by changing your feelings or even your beliefs, but instead by changing your self-concept and identity. Everything else, including your thoughts, feelings, beliefs and attitudes are a downstream consequence of your identity, and who you are being.

Here’s what Neville Goddard (a prominent teacher of the Law of Assumption) said about self-concept:

“Change your conception of yourself and you will automatically change the world in which you live.”

In short, if you want to see different results in your life, you have to change who you are being. You have to find and connect with a new version of yourself that is healthy. And in this article I’m going to teach you how to do this.

Before I get into the HOW, I’m going to explore how and why changing your self-concept works by telling a story.

Several years ago, one of my favourite TV shows was “Nashville”, a fictional series which revolved around country music stars. My favourite character was Juliette Barnes, a teenage superstar who had a dysfunctional and abusive family background. The show told the story of Juliette battling her inner demons and past traumas while in the spotlight. Most of the drama revolved around her life spinning out of control.

Juliette was played by Hayden Panettiere.

Something odd happened towards the final stages of the TV show. As the character Juliette’s life began to spin out of control, so did the actress’s life, in ways that uncannily reflected the storylines on the show.

Both the character and the actress had postpartum depression. Both struggled with alcohol/drug addiction. Both split up with the father of their child, lost custody of their child and ended up living in a different country from their family.

All of this occurred during the time that Hayden was playing this character.

Of this role, Hayden said in an interview:

“When you’re that close to your character, you feel their pain and sometimes things hit close to home, and there’s been a lot of that.”

Why am I telling this story and what does it have to do with changing change in your health using the Law of Assumption?

Hayden Panettiere was using the Law of Assumption throughout that role. Of course, we’re all using the Law all of the time, but in this case Hayden was using it to create a bunch of stuff she didn’t want.

For 10 months out of the year she was showing up to work and stepping into the character of someone who was “going off the rails”. She was embracing the thoughts, beliefs, attitudes and feelings (including the pain) of that character. She was living from that place some of the time while she was at work, and so her real life began to reflect those situations she was embodying. (Note that she did all of this so well that she was nominated for a Golden Globe.)

This is how we get well and improve our health (except in the total opposite direction from how Hayden Panettiere did it.) We create a character who is in perfect health, and we become intimately acquainted with them, energetically.

Note that this is not about becoming a totally different person altogether. This path of change is not about changing who you are fundamentally – that will always stay the same. Instead, this is about shedding negative thoughts, beliefs, patterns, habits and behaviours. As discussed in part 2 of this series, this version of you that has great health, already exists on another  ‘lifeline’ or parallel reality.

As I said in part 2 of this series on health:

“The spiritual writer and quantum physicist Vadim Zeland called this ‘shifting lifelines’. His idea was that we align with a particular reality based on what we are emitting through our intentions, thoughts, assumptions and reactions to life. The quality of the energy that we emit places us on a ‘lifeline’ that is a match for this energy. And so what you see around you in the 3D is always a match for what you are thinking, believing, assuming and feeling about life and yourself.”

No matter what your health issue is, there exists a version of you who is experiencing great health. There also exists a version of you that has worse health than you currently have. And everything in between those two extremes also exists on countless lifelines or parallel realities.

To manifest a change in your health, you don’t have to “create” the reality you want, instead you simply need to align with the version of yourself who already has great health.

This isn’t just a spiritual idea. This idea is also supported by science, since we now know through the field of epigenetics, that genes that create illness in the body are “switched on” by disempowered thoughts, feelings and attitudes. You cannot have good health when your attitude is disempowered. (For more on this idea, check out Candace Pert’s book Molecules of Emotion or Dr Joe Dispenza’s book Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself.)

In order to be in good health, you have to have a certain self-concept or mindset.

People who are physically & spiritually healthy tend to have the following in terms of mindset:

    • They have a ‘can do’ attitude and see themselves as capable of change
    • They look for solutions not problems
    • They set and defend their boundaries
    • They speak up for themselves
    • They know they are worthy and don’t accept poor treatment from anyone
    • They aren’t preoccupied with the past or affected by past traumas
    • They welcome in their emotions, feel them, and validate them
    • They put themselves first
    • They are living in the present and no longer telling old stories about what happened to them
    • They are emotionally regulated
    • They are kind to themselves and love themselves.

Here is what Caroline Myss, medical intuitive and author (who has studied the energetics of health and healing for decades) has to say about changing health:

“(Creating) health represents a complex progression into a state of personal empowerment in which one has to move from a condition of vulnerability to one of invincibility, from victim to victor, from silent bystander to aggressive defender of personal boundaries.”

So, if you want to change your health, the evidence (both scientific and spiritual) suggests you do need to change the self, to some degree or other. If you have a serious, long-standing and chronic illness, your path of transformation will be more extensive and isn’t going to happen overnight. If you only have a health niggle (something minor), the adjustment you have to make will be much smaller.

OK, so now hopefully I’ve convinced you that changing your self-concept is the key to improving health.

    How do you do this?

What you need to do is find a version of yourself that was never ill in the first place.

If you feel your health condition was caused by a particular event or decision (or series of decisions) you made, you can go back to that point in your life and come up with a different lifeline that you ended up on instead, where you never made the choices that you feel contributed towards the health situation you have now. And connect with the character who is living on that lifeline.

If you’re not sure what the roots of your current health situation are, ask your higher self to show you a scene that your healthy self is experiencing. Or you could make one up yourself. Ask yourself, what would this healthy version of yourself be doing?

Come up with a scene that celebrates and encapsulates your newfound health. It needs to be something that feels exciting to you.

For example: if you want to be able to go jogging but you currently cannot, see yourself running outside and feeling strong, free, powerful, full of stamina & get-up-and-go.

If you have insomnia, envision yourself waking up refreshed and happy after a wonderful night’s sleep. And then see yourself bouncing out of bed, excited to get on with the day.

See all the details of this visualisation: What can you see? What are you wearing? What are the other people wearing? What can you hear? How are you feeling? Are you indoors? What does the room look like?

Remember to replay the scene from a first person perspective, feeling everything about it — touch, taste, smell, sight, hearing. In the beginning, write out your scene or describe it out loud so you can connect with all the details. If you’re walking outside for example, feel the temperature of the air, hear the crackle of foliage underfoot. See what you’re wearing on your feet. Feel the sunlight streaming through the trees and hitting your face.

When visualising, bring the scene into your body. Ask the other version of you (who has your desired level of health) to come into your body and lend you her energy. See her as an energy field that is superimposed over yours now.

Have a think about what is the energy you are looking for by creating a better level of health. For most people, it is freedom to pursue their goals, to exercise and move around, and to enjoy life.

Stand up and ask your higher self to bring in the energy your scene evokes in you. If it is a sense of ‘freedom’, give it a colour and have it come into all your cells through the crown chakra. Say to yourself, freedom is now entering my head, my face, my shoulders, my chest etc. Until your whole being is filled with that energy. Breathe in the energy and rejoice in it for a few moments.

You can do this with any energy you’re needing more of right now e.g. freedom, expansion, joy or safety.

The more you connect with this other version of yourself who is living in a parallel reality, with your desired level of health, the closer you get to having that in your life.

To connect with this avatar further, ask questions such as:

    • What kind of conversations is she having?
    • What are her daily habits? Is there anything different about them from your current daily habits?
    • What kind of thoughts does she has?
    • How does she habitually feel?
    • What is her posture like?
    • How does she walk?
    • What’s her financial situation like?
    • What does she enjoy in her spare time?
    • How does she feel about herself?
    • What’s her relationship like?
    • How does she dress?

Really get to know this new character so that you can embody him/her.

To further embody this character, you can also say affirmations such as:

“I’m so lucky that I have so much energy.”

“I’m such a good sleeper. I always get great sleep.”

“I love that I finally feel so free to pursue my goals and dreams”

But make sure that when you say such affirmations, celebrate them as if they are true. Don’t just parrot them mindlessly.

This is how you manifest a new reality.

It isn’t about “getting” in the 3D. It’s about experiencing and ‘becoming’ it in the 4D reality (so, in your mind.) When you do this, your 3D reality will start to shift.

BUT you must persist at it and you have to be consistent. You need to visualise or affirm daily. Just like an actor, you have to rehearse being this new ‘persona’ until it becomes completely natural to you. You cannot embody your new character for 10 minutes per day and then go back to a negative way of thinking.

What many people do is make an effort to do this for a couple of weeks, see no change and then give up. You have to keep at it until you have mastered and practised each concept I’ve mentioned in this series of articles about health, until you have truly changed on the inside. If you have a serious, longstanding illness, this may take time.

What this process often looks like when it’s successful

Often you can spend months mastering the concepts in the 3 articles I’ve published on using the Law to change your health. You may not see any change in that time because you haven’t managed to be consistent in changing your thoughts, attitudes and self-concept. Then one day, it clicks. That’s when your reality starts to show signs of changing and continues to change over time.

This is the most typical scenario that I’ve seen for people who made big changes to their health. Changing overnight is possible, but it’s not the most likely scenario.

Now let’s look at how changes in your 3D can unfold

You don’t need to come up with a strategy to reach your desire in the area of health — just do what is presented to you and what feels like the right thing. The Bridge of Incidents will make it really obvious if you need to take some kind of action. You may be prompted towards taking certain actions which will improve your health in the 3D or a greater level of wellbeing perhaps will just come to you, or maybe you will experience both of those things.

Sometimes in order to make a big change to our health, we need to make significant changes to our life. For example, to get the results that I’ve seen in improving my health over the last 18 months, I found I could no longer have certain family members in my life who were very dear to me, but also causing me a lot of stress because of a chaotic lifestyle that they were living.

You may find that to create change in your health, you need to make a change to a relationship, your work life or your living situation. Sometimes your health gets worse while you make the changes that present themselves to you as necessary. (Note that the bridge of incidents isn’t always easy.) But then things can get better once you’ve made the changes you needed to make.

Big life changes are not always a part of the bridge of incidents, but they can be. Don’t start the process of manifesting perfect health unless you’re prepared for that, because once you set this in motion, the Bridge of Incidents will remove or alter anything that is blocking a complete return to health for you.

And don’t stress about the how. You don’t need to know how you are going to improve your health — that’s not your job. You just need to take the actions that you feel guided to take, and it’ll be made really obvious to you if there is something you need to do as part of this process.

If you’d like to go over them again, here are the 3 articles in this series about health:

Here is a list of affirmations which can help you to manifest good health:

In this article I’m going to share some tips and instructions for using the Law of Assumption to manifest good health.

    This is totally possible!

If you’re feeling skeptical, this is totally natural, and so in part 1 of this series on changing your health, I talked about how to expand your awareness of what is possible through the Law of Assumption, in the area of your health.

If you haven’t read part 1, I recommend that you do that before continuing with this article.

(Just a note that I am abbreviating the Law of Assumption to “LOA” in this series of articles.)

Now let’s have a look at how you can use the LOA to manifest better health

I am going to use the example of the menopause in this article. Let’s say that someone called “Brenda” is going through the menopause and suffering from symptoms such as hot flashes, insomnia and mood issues. This is disrupting her life and she wants to manifest a change in her health. In this article, I’m going to give a plan for doing this, using Brenda as our example.

The first step in this process is simply to set an intention.

Neville Goddard, a leading teacher of the Law of Assumption, believed in the idea of many parallel realities, and that we shift from one reality to another, and one self to another, based on our intentions.

The spiritual writer and quantum physicist Vadim Zeland called this ‘shifting lifelines’. His idea was that we align with a particular reality based on what we are emitting through our intentions, thoughts, assumptions and reactions to life. The quality of the energy that we emit places us on a ‘lifeline’ that is a match for this energy. And so what you see around you in the 3D is always a match for what you are thinking, believing, assuming and feeling about life and yourself.

Here is what I wrote about lifelines in my article: How I Waved Good-bye to Seasonal Depression:

I learned about lifelines from the book ‘Reality Transurfing’ by the Russian quantum physicist & mystic Vadim Zeland. In it, he teaches that all of time is happening at once. All possibilities that could ever be, already exist and are happening all at once. As the Bible states, creation is finished. We don’t create possibilities in our lives, instead we choose the ones we want, and we travel along ‘lifelines’ to the realities we choose. Absolutely every possible scenario that you could encounter in your life, already exists as a possibility for you to choose, in the quantum field. (Most people are not choosing consciously). We spend our lives travelling along various lifelines, until we reach the end of our lives. There are countless favourable lifelines and unfavourable lifelines running parallel to one another.

Let’s take Brenda’s example. There are many possible versions of Brenda that exist on various lifelines that she can choose from. There’s a version of Brenda where she is completely untroubled by menopause symptoms and is in excellent health. There’s also a version where she is living in a nightmare with her health and can’t get any sleep. In this version, she is feeling anxious, depressed and just very unwell. There’s also many versions of her in between those two extremes. All of those versions exist — if she wants to manifest a change in her health, she doesn’t have to “create” the one she wants, instead all she needs to do is choose and then align with the desired version of herself that is enjoying great health.

Let’s talk about the choosing part first of all, which is the simplest out of all of this. (In the next article in this series, I’ll also talk about the work you can to align with what you have chosen!)

What you need to do for this part is simply come up with an intention for what you want to create in your health. And then do a little ceremony to set the intention (- I have provided one in this article.)

Make sure your intention is worded in the positive. For example, Brenda might set the intention as follows:

“I am in excellent health. My mood is stable; I am full of energy; I enjoy the right amount of restorative sleep, and I feel great.”

An example of a poor intention to set would be:

“I am no longer troubled by menopause symptoms.”

Don’t put the name of your health condition in the intention (in this example, I realise that the menopause isn’t a “health condition” but you get the gist). Don’t mention what you’re suffering from at all — instead just find the opposite of what you are currently dealing with, that you don’t want, and state that. The reasoning behind this is, that you don’t want to put your focus on what you do not want – instead you want to focus on what you DO want to see in your 3D reality.

OK, now we’ve set the intention.

Once you’ve set the intention, metaphysically, it is done. You are already there. This is because in the metaphysical realm, time does not exist. Either you are it now, or you are not it at all.

This means that Brenda needs to align with the reality she has chosen, and BE the person who is currently not experiencing any symptoms.

    How does she do this?

This “alignment” process has several facets to it, and we’ll cover them all in this series. But the main one we’re covering in this article involves taking her focus OFF what she doesn’t want to see in her reality, and putting her focus back onto what she desires.

    Stop reacting to the 3D

The first step in this alignment process involves Brenda no longer reacting negatively to the 3D. Usually when a person can’t sleep much because of hormonal changes, this is going to cause some degree of upset or distress. Sleeplessness is hard to deal with.

However, if Brenda wants to create any change in this area, she needs to stop caring so much about the current situation, trying to change it, and fighting against it.

How can she make this mindset shift?

By understanding that she is the source of everything she is creating in this world.

All of us are manifesting, all of the time, whether consciously or unconsciously. Most people who are not consciously using the Law of Assumption are taking their cue from their 3D reality about what they can and can’t have.

If Brenda doesn’t know about the LOA, she may go online and do some research into menopause and find stories of people who tried everything but still suffered from menopause-related insomnia for years on end. She may then assume, based on what she is seeing in her 3D reality that this problem is not going to go away, and she might feel hopeless about creating change.

But the thing about this is, Brenda is creating everything she sees in her 3D reality. Her 3D reality is in fact nothing more than a shadow cast by Brenda, based on what she was thinking, believing and assuming, usually several weeks or a few months ago. The 3D reality is the movie projection, but Brenda is the one who is creating the movie.

This means that she can change all of it, when she changes her thoughts, her self-concept, her reactions, beliefs and assumptions.

We are the source of our 3D reality. But most of us have it the wrong way round — believing that the 3D reality is in control. It isn’t. No matter what your circumstances are, you can change them, because your 3D reality was created by you.

If you have consciously used the LOA to change something about your life that you did not want, you will have seen this in action — how quickly and completely things can shift once you change your focus. I’ve definitely seen this myself.

So once Brenda understands that the 3D is just a shadow cast by her, she can stop feeling so distressed by her 3D reality. She no longer needs to take her cues from it. Instead, she can take her power back, strip it of any authority she may have given it, and stop reacting to the 3D.

After all, why would she react to it? It’s just something she accidentally created several weeks ago, before she knew how to create change.

Here’s how ignoring the 3D looks when you have a health condition that’s bothering you:

She treats her current symptoms with indifference because she knows they’re just temporary and subject to change now. She stops talking about them with people or complaining about symptoms. When she’s tired and sleepless, she doesn’t mention it to her spouse. She stops frequenting Facebook groups or online communities centred around dealing with the menopause. She doesn’t use the “M” word again or speak it out loud. She stops reading about it or trying to come up with a strategy or a solution (unless she really feels a really strong urge to research something connected to the menopause, which may be her Higher self leading her to a solution through her bridge of incidents.)

    Releasing Importance

If Brenda struggles to stop reacting to the 3D, it may be because she hasn’t fully accepted her current situation and has attached too much importance to the change she is trying to create.

I talked more about this concept in my article about importance.

Basically, if it is really important to you that you create a particular change in your life, it’s going to be much harder to manifest. In order to be able to move to a different reality, you have to have accepted and made peace with this current reality. If you don’t make peace with it, your frustration and resistance will keep moving you back to the reality you don’t want, because what you resist, persists. Resistance causes you to focus on what you don’t want. And so you can’t change what you haven’t accepted.

In this article about importance, I encourage people who are working on manifesting something in particular to create a back-up plan. What will you do, if you don’t manage to manifest your desire?

Making a back-up plan helps you to accept where you are currently, and make peace with it. If you create a detailed plan of how you would make your life OK, even if nothing changed for you, and then you accept it, you are finally free to move to a different reality and you’re not going to need the back-up plan at all.

But if you don’t accept your current reality and really, really NEED it to change, you’re in a weak position to manifest something different. The spiritual writer Vadim Zeland says you’re effectively walking a tightrope between two high rise buildings with no safety net. You really need this to work, and that creates importance and attachment, which creates resistance, which can keep you stuck in your current reality.

So if you’re currently wanting to make a change in your health, go and read my article on importance, and make sure you come up with a back up plan for your health, accept where you are currently, and make peace with it. This can take some time, so don’t force it.

If your health condition bothers you and you struggle to accept it, you could tell yourself things like:

“Nothing in life lasts forever – this can change.” “It’s OK that I’m not sleeping much. I can deal with this.” (in Brenda’s example)

Only say these affirmations until you have reached a place of acceptance, then drop them.

Your back up plan could involve going on medication. It could involve exploring a possible alternative healing solution. It could mean a drop in income through working less. Hash out all the details of how you would make this situation OK and bearable.

Then you’re ready to move on to the next step in this process of changing your health, which is: focusing on what you do want!

In the next article, I’m going to talk about how we can do this.

P.S. Just a final note if you’re reading this but you’re not currently in the situation where you’re sure you believe in the Law of Assumption…

I did address this situation in part 1 of my article about health and the LOA, but I also want to touch on it here.

    Cultivating belief

In order to stop reacting to the 3D, you need to take back your power and know yourself as the creator of your reality. If you aren’t there yet, here are some steps you can take:

    • If you haven’t had much success manifesting your desires, but you want to give this a go, know that the Law of Assumption is much more effective than the Law of Attraction. This can and will work for you. The Law of Assumption has completely changed my life and that of many others.
    • Check out the Neville Goddard subreddit on the Reddit website and read some of the success stories.
    • I also recommend you build your confidence in the Law of Assumption by manifesting something small. Start with the ladder exercise. This is an exercise where you use Law of Assumption techniques to manifest the opportunity to climb a ladder.
    • Sometimes it can be helpful to research a particular health condition and find stories of people who have created the change you would like to create. Look for evidence online that what you want to create is possible. Google phrases like “How I healed my menopause symptoms” or “I had no menopause symptoms”. Google a whole variety of different phrases which essentially say the same thing, to find a variety of stories. Remember that you will find evidence out there to support all realities you could possibly create, so you want to ignore the evidence you don’t want to see and hone in on the stories that support what you desire to create. See that it’s possible to go through menopause with no symptoms, or have symptoms initially, which fade away quickly as your body adjusts to the drop in estrogen and progesterone. Almost everything can be healed completely. The only things that can’t are genetic diseases and severe deformities. For example, if you were born without a limb, you aren’t going to be able to grow one by yourself through the Law of Assumption. If a person has a genetic disorder like cystic fibrosis, it isn’t going to disappear, but its impact can be reduced by utilising the Law of Assumption.

Tips for Manifesting Better Health Through the Law of Assumption — Part 1

The Law of Assumption is a method for manifesting that I’ve been experimenting with and using for around 12 months. It’s different from the Law of Attraction, which states that “we attract what we are”. The Law of Assumption on the other hand states that what we assume will happen in life, is what will happen. Therefore, if we want to change our 3D reality, we have to change our inner assumptions about it.

One of my biggest wins using the Law of Assumption has been much improved health. You can read more about my results in this area here (if you choose not to read it: a health condition that I’d battled with for 22 years cleared up and has stayed away.)

In this article, I’m going to share some of my best advice and experiences with using the Law of Assumption to improve your health or get rid of any health condition (this article is so long that I’ve split it up into parts, and this is part 1.)

Note: in this article, I’m abbreviating the Law of Assumption to “LOA”.

Step one: Believing and knowing that it’s possible

One of the hardest things for me at the beginning of my journey using the LOA to improve my health was that I initially didn’t believe it was possible.

Maybe because one of my parents worked in the medical field, when I was sick, I was steeped in the ideas that conventional medicine and pharmaceutical companies like to feed us: that health conditions are the result of faulty genes, often can’t be cured and therefore we should take medication to fix ourselves. And that we are the victims of our bodies.

    This is not the case.

The health conditions we have in our lives are actually deeply and inextricably linked to our thoughts, feelings, assumptions, and stories about ourselves and our lives. Any health condition has its own energetic signature that is a reflection of all of these.

If we want to change our health or get rid of a health condition, the simple truth is that we have to change who we are on the inside. We have to change our thoughts, feelings, attitudes, beliefs and stories. When we change on the inside, our bodies change.

This is not just a spiritual theory, but one that is now backed by science.

For more on this, see neuroscientist Candace Pert’s book Molecules of Emotion: The Science Behind Mind-Body Medicine, or Dr Bruce Lipton’s book The Biology of Belief: Unleashing the Power of Consciousness, Matter and Miracles.

Dr Joe Dispenza is another teacher in the mind-body space who guides people to improve their health using the Law of Assumption. He runs retreats and offers guided meditations which have been studied by the University of California in San Diego, and found to improve various markers of health.

His students have also had amazing results with various health conditions. Cancers that were deemed terminal have reversed and completely disappeared for some. The symptoms of serious chronic autoimmune conditions have disappeared and gone into remission for others, without the help of medications.

I found it useful at the start of my journey to listen to the many hundreds of testimonials from Dr Joe’s students that were available on YouTube, to help break the mould (in my mind) of what is actually possible.

If you feel skeptical about the possibility of changing your health, I highly recommend you watch some of his testimonies – the playlist can be found here.

Changing your health is possible, and getting rid of a condition or disease so that it never comes back, is also possible.

I believe that ill health is a wake up call from the soul inviting us to make a positive change in our lives.

This is part 1 in a series about improving health using the Law of Assumption. You can read part 2 here.

In part 2, I offer more tips on how we can actually make changes to our inner worlds and therefore change our health in the 3D.

  • Why You Shouldn’t Tell Anyone About What You’re Manifesting

Why You Shouldn’t Tell Anyone About What You’re Manifesting

The Law of Assumption is a method for manifesting popularised by the New Thought author Neville Goddard (1905-1972). It is an alternative to the Law of Attraction (that in my opinion works a lot more effectively than the Law of Attraction!)

So let’s say that you are using the Law of Assumption to manifest something in particular.

Should you tell anyone what you are manifesting?

    Neville Goddard says no:

“Do not discuss your ambitions or desires with another, for the other will only echo your present fears. Secrecy is the first law to be observed in realising your desire.” — Neville Goddard, in his book, At Your Command.

When are manifesting something, the reason why it is not currently present in our 3D reality is because our inner self or self-concept is not in alignment with this new reality that we are trying to manifest. (Manifesting is all about becoming the person who is a match for this new desire.) Therefore, if we talk to people about the fact that we are manifesting something, they will reflect the current self back to us, and we could get the feedback that what we are manifesting is:

    • Unlikely
    • Unrealistic
    • Difficult
    • Impossible
    • Will take a long time.

Getting this kind of feedback only reinforces the old reality that we are moving away from, which of course is not helpful and may keep us feeling stuck there.

This is why we do ourselves a favour by keeping quiet about our plans.

In fact, on my Law of Assumption coaching page, I caution potential clients to only contact me for coaching if they are in the beginning stages of manifesting. Once your manifesting process is underway and you have set your intention, talking about it (or asking why it is not here yet) is only reinforcing the reality that you currently do not have your manifestation in the 3D.

Neville Goddard says that talking about your desire in this way may cause a “mental miscarriage” of your intention.

In addition to not talking about your desire, while manifesting you also need to keep quiet about what is not working about your current situation.

Let’s say you’re manifesting an improved relationship with your partner or spouse: in this example, not only do you not tell anyone what you are manifesting, but if you habitually complain to someone about how your partner currently behaves, you need to stop with this habit, since it is reinforcing the reality that you do not want.

Do not give people progress reports

If you’re in the situation where you have already shared with someone that you desire something new in your reality that you don’t currently have, stop updating that person on your progress.

For example, your friend knows you’re dating and looking for a relationship. Every time you two meet, she asks about your love life. Do not come at her question from the standpoint of “I do not have this thing that I want, and finding it is hard”. Don’t launch into a conversation about your 3D progress. Instead, you could say something like: “I am focusing on myself right now” to shut it down.

    Declaring premature victory

Another time I recommend keeping quiet about what you’re manifesting is when you have only very recently manifested something.

Don’t declare premature victory – wait until your manifestation has firmly settled into your 3D reality and no-one can take it away from you. (This applies especially in the area of health and relationships.)

I have seen people shout about their manifestation results from the rooftops, and then see their progress backtrack or their result disappear. I believe it is partly because when you tell people your manifestation story, you’re highlighting the old story of how things used to be, and it can cause you to focus once again on that.

So be careful about sharing your manifestation story. Wait until your new reality is established in your life (and has been for a while) before you declare success.

P.S. Neville Goddard’s recommendation to keep your plans and goals to yourself is also borne out by the research.

  • How Long Will my Manifestation Take & Can I Speed it up?

How Long Will my Manifestation Take & Can I Speed it up?

In this article I want to answer a common question that comes up when someone begins to use the Law of Assumption.

How long will I have to wait for my manifestation in the 3D? And can I speed it up?

There are plenty of idiots on the internet (especially on Reddit) who will tell you that manifestation should be quick, and if it isn’t, you’re not ‘manifesting’ right.

This is what Neville Goddard had to say about how long manifestations can take:

“For the vision has its own appointed hour; it ripens and it will flower. If it be long, then wait, for it is sure and it will not be late.”

In this quote, from his 1968 lecture ‘An Inner Conviction’, he is saying that every manifestation arrives when it is time. He recommends patience and he uses an analogy from nature (ripening and flowering).

When you set an intention to experience something in the 3D, you are planting a seed. You should keep watering that seed. You do not dig it up to check if it is germinating yet, or get frustrated and toss it in the trash because it’s not sprouted after 2 days.

Nature doesn’t create a plant or a tree overnight, and our manifesting is the same. You may be holding the vision of your desire in the 4D (aka in your mind and imagination) but this has its own process and timeline to be reflected in your 3D reality.

The reason why there is a time lapse between what you are holding in your mind, and your 3D reality, is because if every thought you had manifested instantly, your life would be a bit scary and absolute chaos. The time lapse is necessary so that we can have time to get consistent about what it is that we want to see in the 3D, and neutralise negative manifestations, too.

Plus, in order to manifest something in the 3D, we have to become someone who has that 3D desire. It’s actually your self-concept and your identity that primarily manifest your world so your identity needs to change to accommodate your new desire.

To give an example, if you wish to manifest a new love relationship, you need to be a loved (and loving) partner now in your imagination. You can’t bring this into your reality unless you already ARE it in your identity, to some extent.

    This doesn’t usually happen overnight.

If you started from a really bad place in your life, manifesting your desired reality is like turning a big ship around. For example, if you’re someone who has a disease and has been ill for years, you can’t expect to change that in one week.

I don’t want to put limiting beliefs into anyone’s mind with this article, because all of this is generalisation — our reality can change in an instant, but most commonly when a situation has been ongoing for years, it doesn’t change overnight.

For this reason, persistence and patience are needed. We need to hold our desired reality in our consciousness and keep returning to it as often as possible, until it materialises in 3D. We need to patiently work on becoming the person who has our desire.

Quick manifesting may not always be in your best interests

Something else to bear in mind is that quick manifesting isn’t always a good thing.

I’ll give you an example from my own life.

I decided I wanted a new romance and I wanted it fast.

So I went to work manifesting it. I put a lot of energy into this process. I was not working and had several days to myself, so I set my intention, connected with the wish fulfilled and returned to it by visualising it for a few minutes, at least every hour while I was awake. I’d never put so much focus on manifesting like this before and it was an intense and trippy process. By the end of the 2nd day, I was in a different reality and I felt like I had this new relationship already. I was so convinced of my new reality that I was kind of expecting him (whoever he was) to just knock on my door.

On the 4th day of using this process, he showed up in my life and we started dating.

The problem was that I was still running an old story about men and what they were like. I had a particular belief about men, that I’d held for years and years based on past experience. This belief was so strong that I was talking about this aspect of “what men are like” with friends, in the weeks and days before I started consciously manifesting this new relationship.

Of course that showed up in this relationship in a way I wasn’t enjoying.

So if you manifest something in 4 days, it may not be exactly what you want, because you haven’t had time to become the new person and address any limiting beliefs you still have. In my case, the version of Anna that was in a happy romantic relationship with a man needed to be someone who does not have a belief about men that was toxic. Even if men had consistently appeared to be that way in my reality in the past, that was no longer what I wanted to see in my life and so that belief had to go.

(As an aside, I saw this turn of events as part of the larger bridge of incidents, taking me towards my ultimate goal of a happy relationship, by showing me what I needed to work on next.)

But it also illustrates quite well what can sometimes happen when we decide we must have what we want now.

    Holding on to your manifestation

Something else that can occur when we rush our manifesting, is that we get our wonderful manifestation, but we cannot keep it, simply because our self-concept and identity isn’t in alignment with the manifestation.

This is sometimes what happens when people win the lottery — according to the National Endowment for Financial Education, 70% of lottery winners lose all their money and one third go bankrupt following their lottery win. The reason this happens is because lottery winners’ identities often aren’t going to match that of someone who manages their money well.

This is what can also happen when manifesting a new relationship. You may be able to manifest an amazing partner, but if your self-concept isn’t up to scratch, your insecurities will kick in and you will lose them.

This is why it is sometimes a good thing that our manifestations take a while to reflect in the 3D…so that we can have time to BECOME and change our self-concept. That way, we get exactly what we want, and keep it.

So make sure to persist, and be patient! Once you set your intention for something to manifest, the bridge of incidents will take you on a journey to become who you need to become. So, be receptive to the feedback life is giving you and take its cues.

(And if you’re interested in changing your self-concept, check out this article I wrote. Your self-concept is EVERYTHING when it comes to manifesting.)

Take your focus off the 3D

Finally, I want to introduce a different way of looking at the manifesting process which may help, if you are impatient and asking this question about how long will your manifestation take.

If you are reading this article, it’s because you want something and you want it to materialise in the 3D. I get it. That’s why I love reality creation, too.

But in order to get what you want, you have to take your focus off the 3D. You have to move your focus to the 4D — the reality behind your eyes; in your mind. Your imagination needs to be king. You need to live your desired reality in your imagination until you take on a new identity. You need to be deluded and con yourself, even. You need to stop caring about what the 3D reality is showing you, because you know that your 3D world is just a transient shadow and it was cast by you probably around several weeks ago, based on what you were thinking and the person you were being at that time.

This is how you get stuff in the 3D. You stop caring about the 3D and instead enjoy your desire in your mind.

You cannot get something in the 3D until you give it to yourself.

So, take your focus off ‘where is it?’ Stop checking the 3D. Asking when it is going to come and getting frustrated is a surefire way to delay your manifestation.

Go straight to the 4D, where you have it now and live from that place. Know with conviction that the 3D will reflect this at some point. That is how you manifest.

And if you’re just starting out and you’d like a process for manifesting using the Law of Assumption, here it is:

    1. Set an intention
    2. Align with that intention by using techniques such as SATS and affirmations (or another technique), until you get to a place where you can easily access the state of the wish fulfilled, and live from it
    3. Keep your mental diet aligned with your desire
    4. Elevate your self concept if it needs work
    5. Eliminate importance
    6. Ignore the 3D
    7. Persist

And if you really want to speed up your manifestation?

Frederick Dobson, in his amazing book Parallel Universes of Self says:

“It is how you react to the old reality which determines how long it will take for your new reality to be reflected ‘out there’”. Fighting what you don’t want is the same thing as agreeing to a reality.”

So, let’s say that you have a health condition that you’re working on eliminating from your 3D reality. If the symptoms of this condition are upsetting you, it’s going to take a long time for your 3D reality to change. But if you are indifferent to the symptoms, because you know they are just the 3D reflection of the thoughts and stories you were running in your mind in the past, your reality can change much faster.

Cultivate indifference to the aspects of your 3D that you are not currently wanting to see, and this is how you speed up your manifestation.

Also remember to keep an impeccable mental diet. Your thoughts and inner conversations (so, what you’re saying to yourself in your mind) have to be aligned with your desire to get your manifestation quickly. If you want to manifest fast, stop with the thoughts that you wouldn’t be having, if you already had your desire. Make it your task to notice your thoughts and interrupt them if they are negative by saying “stop”. A poor mental diet is often why our desires take an unnecessarily long time to arrive.

If you have time, you can also do what I did to manifest a new relationship, and do SATS and return to the state of the wish fulfilled every waking hour. I don’t necessarily recommend this if you’ve just set your intention, because it’s very full on and you may or may not be ready for your manifestation. You may not be giving your self-concept enough time to adjust to your desire.

Instead I recommend letting life organically take you on a process of ‘becoming’ – the bridge of incidents will be set in motion for this to occur as soon as you set your intention.

  • Why I Prefer the Law of Assumption to the Law of Attraction

If you follow my blog, you will have noticed that I’ve written a lot recently about the Law of Assumption, which is a technique for manifesting that is an alternative to the popular Law of Attraction.

In this article I’m going to talk about my experiences with the Law of Attraction and why I do not like this method for manifesting as much as I like the Law of Assumption. I will also provide some insights into what I feel is the most effective way to manifest the life of your dreams.

Please note that in this article I am only writing about the Law of Attraction, as I learned, understood and practised it back in 2006-2008. It’s possible that your interpretation of the Law of Attraction is different from mine. But I will do my best anyway to elucidate what I see as the differences between these two modalities for manifesting.

My History with Using the Law of Attraction

I watched ‘the Secret’ movie in 2006 and I studied the Abraham-Hicks materials on the Law of Attraction between 2006-2008. I loved the Secret movie, and as I understood it, the Law of Attraction was about coming into alignment with my desires by feeling really good. So I went to work feeling as good as possible, as often as I could.

The biggest change in my life during this period was that in 2007-2008 I learned to read the Akashic Records and I opened my business, and it became successful. So, you could say that perhaps the Law of Attraction changed my life, but I’m not sure I can attribute this change to that because I think I practised the Law of Attraction quite inconsistently and badly.

The reason why I practised inconsistently was because I found that using the Law of Attraction was ultimately unsustainable for me. I had trauma from my childhood and adolescence and I suffered from Seasonal Affective Disorder (AKA winter depression) and some degree of depression outside of the winter. Feeling good as much as possible was not working for me and I actually felt a lot worse because of the pressure to feel good. There was also the sense of being sabotaged by my own limiting beliefs, which were sometimes creating the feeling of having to wade through mud, so to speak. This was a long-term pattern that was ongoing in all life areas and no amount of pretending to feel good was going to change this.

In addition, after 2008 when I abandoned the Law of Attraction practices, I did often set intentions by writing them down and putting them in a box, which I wrote about here. So, I was setting intentions and hoping for them to show up in my 3D reality, but I wasn’t using any techniques and although some of them did come to pass, others didn’t.

Does any of this sound familiar?

Then in 2022, after a bad period in my life, I came across the Law of Assumption.

It immediately resonated with me and I put it to work. The changes that resulted from applying it were so much more significant than the results I had had from using the Law of Attraction.

Here’s why I believe using the Law of Assumption was so effective for me where the Law of Attraction wasn’t…

Neville Goddard is one of the main teachers of the Law of Assumption, and he taught that it is our expectations, assumptions, beliefs and identity in life that creates our 3D reality. Therefore, if we want to change our lives, we change our beliefs, assumptions and identity.

Abraham-Hicks (the leading teacher of the Law of Attraction) may also teach this to some degree, but the main thrust of their teaching is about changing your feelings, in order to change your 3D reality.

Changing your feelings to change your reality is a low-level way to create, because your feelings are a downstream consequence of who you are being.

It is much more effective to change your self-concept and identity, and this will change your beliefs, your feelings and your thoughts.

    Neville Goddard stated:

“Change your conception of yourself and you will automatically change the world in which you live. Do not try to change people; they are only messengers telling you who you are. Revalue yourself and they will confirm the change.”

Note that in order to change your self-concept, your beliefs and your assumptions about life, you will need to work with the subconscious mind to change. This can be tedious work and it can take time. It can be deep work. It may require healing and it takes self-discipline. You will probably need to use techniques in a sustained way over the long term.

The Law of Assumption is about becoming someone new, using your imagination and repetition.

It’s not about flicking a switch from “feeling bad” to “feeling good”, for no reason.

The way I saw it, Abraham-Hicks espoused feeling good for no reason and I often felt like I was trying to push myself into a kind of happiness that I didn’t genuinely feel. It felt like toxic positivity.

Neville Goddard on the other hand teaches that you should rest in the state or the feeling of your wish fulfilled, in order to manifest. People often take this to mean that you should feel how you would feel if your desire manifested, but it doesn’t have to mean that. It can mean that you just rest in the assumption that your desire is already here, to the point where it feels natural to you. It can be more of a psychological concept rather than an emotional concept. Or it could be both. But the main thing is that you change your self-concept so that it feels natural to you that your desire is here. So, as an example, if you desire to be married to the person of your dreams, you become an adored wife or a husband in your self-concept and in your imagination. You tell yourself “I am the kind of person who is happily married” and “I was always meant for great love” until you naturally feel relaxed and secure in that truth, over time.

But you can leave your feelings alone.

You don’t need to go round feeling super happy that you’re finally married, like the Law of Attraction teaches. Nor do you need to engineer the feelings of being relaxed and secure in the truth that you are married. With the Law of Assumption, this happens on its own as a downstream consequence of changing your identity and self-concept.

And what if you happen to feel bad one day? When this happened to me (and I had a lot of bad days back in 2006-2008 when I was using the Abraham-Hicks teachings) I would feel like giving up because the way I understood it, our feelings create and I couldn’t control mine.

The Law of Attraction teaches that our feelings create our lives, but the Law of Assumption doesn’t. The Law of Assumption says that it is thoughts that create, and the combination of a feeling and a thought that create. The combination of a feeling and a thought is a reaction. A negative reaction or a positive reaction creates powerfully. So, if you are always reacting negatively to circumstances in your life, this can create more of the same, if you’re doing it consistently.

But if you are just having a bad day where you’re feeling grief over an old loss, or you’re upset about something as a one off? This isn’t necessarily going to mess up your manifesting, according to the Law of Assumption.

It’s your identity, self-concept and beliefs that manifest, much more than your feelings.

So using the Law of Assumption for me has taken the pressure off from always feeling good.

Don’t get me wrong — feeling good is excellent. But I no longer feel it is a requirement for my manifesting, and it isn’t.

    EIYPO

Before I finish this article, I do want to point out one more difference between the Law of Assumption and the Law of Attraction, which is that the Law of Attraction teaches that there is a higher power out there in the Universe (Source/God or whatever you want to call it) whereas the Law of Assumption teaches that YOU are the higher power.

Essentially when you are using the Law of Attraction, you are handing your intention over to Source or the Universe. You are intending to attract your desire, but only if it is in your highest good and the highest good of all. If your intention doesn’t come to pass, you may conclude that it wasn’t meant to be.

The Law of Assumption does not accept this. Instead it teaches that your imagination is God — it literally creates your world. Your 3D reality is a product of your consciousness. Everything is you pushed out (EIYPO) and you live in a multiverse, where many parallel worlds exist and where you place yourself in one of them by sheer force of intention and decision. The Law of Assumption says that you decide. You take back your power by deciding what you want and that’s it. There is no higher power or God outside of you denying you what you want. Only you can do that.

This also means that because everyone is you pushed out, you can manifest good things for other people, too (more on this here) and you can also get as specific as you like, with your desires.

Some Law of Attraction students do not like this concept of manifesting for others, and do not believe in it. If it doesn’t resonate with you, you can still use the Law of Assumption but discard this piece of Neville Goddard’s teachings.

Personally I use about 90% Law of Assumption methods and 10% Law of Attraction methods. I combine the 2 to my own liking.

I hope that clarifies why I prefer the Law of Assumption.

  • Life Lessons — How to Stop Attracting Negative Experiences

If you follow my work, you’ll know that a big part of it is reading the Akashic Records for clients and teaching others how to read the records, too.

One of the most interesting aspects of an Akashic Record reading is finding out your life lessons for this lifetime.

Your primary life lesson is like a golden thread that underlies many of your life experiences and relationships. You will be attracting situations and experiences that help you to learn this life lesson. Some of those experiences will be negative and some will be positive.

But the ratio of negative to positive experiences that show up within your life experience, is entirely within your control, and is dependent on your attitudes, beliefs, thoughts, emotions and assumptions about life.

In this article I’m also going to talk about several life lessons and what kind of experiences show up for each, when we’re learning them positively vs negatively. And I’ll talk about how we can manifest more of the positive experiences and less of the negative ones.

But first before we talk about manifesting and creating change in our lives, let’s get into this concept of life lessons deeper.

One of the main reasons souls incarnate here on Earth is to learn.

Before we arrive here as souls, we decide on a curriculum of “life lessons” we are going to learn. These are like energetic qualities or themes that we will explore during a given lifetime.

The reason we learn these life lessons as souls is to reach a place of greater ‘wholeness’. On the soul level, we always have strengths but there are also energetic qualities that we lack in ourselves. And the purpose of life lessons is to give us experiences that change us slightly on the soul level, so that we can integrate those energetic qualities into our soul, and reach a greater sense of wholeness on the soul level.

We usually have one primary life lesson (which will be the dominant one) and multiple secondary life lessons, which are more minor. It usually takes several earthly lives to explore one life lesson, and when we do complete a life lesson, one of our secondary lessons takes its place as the primary.

You can find out your life lesson by getting an Akashic Record reading, or by learning to read your own akashic soul record. You can also sometimes identify your life lesson by looking at your past experiences and trying to identify the theme that underlies them all.

In this article, I’m going to give you some examples of very common life lessons that recent clients of mine have been learning, and then I’ll talk about how we can learn them more positively, so that we’re not attracting the negative experiences into our lives so much.

First of all, let’s look at my primary lesson: moderation.

    Moderation

When this lesson is being learned negatively (where you’ve consistently been falling into negative thoughts, emotions, attitudes, assumptions and beliefs) a life lesson of moderation may turn into addiction.

You may find yourself with an active addiction to a substance or an obsessive romantic relationship that you can’t seem to let go of. Perhaps you have someone in your life who is bad for you but you keep letting them back in.

You may aim for sensible, moderate habits but be unable to sustain them. You may feel powerless against your urges and impulses.

If you work on shifting your mindset to something more positive through the Law of Assumption, and you have a life lesson of moderation, you’ll find yourself being more able to say ‘no’ and follow through on it.

Addictive or obsessive relationships will become less attractive and will fall out of your life.

If you’re addicted to something, you’ll find yourself getting sober.

As mentioned, this is my life lesson.

I am a bit gung-ho and have in the past had problems doing anything in moderation. I used to say, I only have two gears — first gear and fifth gear, and that there is no middle path for me; I’m either all in or I’m all out.

These days I feel things have changed, mainly since I have been using the Law of Assumption to recreate my world. The Law of Assumption is a spiritual teaching for manifesting popularised by the New Thought author Neville Goddard. It’s similar to the Law of Attraction (but I prefer it to the Law of Attraction.)

Since I’ve been using the Law of Assumption to manifest changes in my reality, I’ve found that I have started to explore my primary life lesson (moderation) in different, more positive ways.

Example: when I started using the Law of Assumption, I was able to kick my lifelong sugar and chocolate addiction. I used to eat large amounts of dark chocolate on a daily basis. I now am able to mostly stay away from sugar for health reasons. I haven’t reached a place of perfect moderation with this habit, but I’m happy to be reaping the rewards of a mostly sugar-free life — a healthier body and less inflammation.

If you have a life lesson of moderation, but you struggle with some of the things I mentioned above, I recommend using some affirmations which can help you to learn this life lesson more positively. Here’s an example of a couple you can use for this life lesson:

“I indulge in the pleasures of life in moderation.”

“I love that I have finally been able to kick unhealthy habits.”

    “I am able to self-soothe.”

Now let’s look at another common life lesson:

    Self-worth

If you have a life lesson of self-worth but you’re learning it negatively, you may find yourself in abusive or one-sided relationships, where you’re expected to give, give, & give some more, but there’s not a lot that’s nourishing or healthy in those relationships for you.

You may find yourself in all kinds of situations where people are behaving parasitically and you are allowing it. Perhaps you have a boss who expects you to work overtime and doesn’t pay you for it (underearning is a common theme for people with a life lesson of self-worth.)

If you shift your mindset towards something more positive through the Law of Assumption, and you have this life lesson, you’ll find after a while that you have a beautiful self-concept. Your life will begin to reflect this. Parasitic, one-sided relationships will fall away. You will be fairly paid for your work. People will treat you better. You will treat yourself better.

Affirmations to learn a life lesson of self-worth positively:

“I am worthy of the very best that life has to offer”

    “I am always treated beautifully”

    Inner authority

This is another common life lesson, where a person is learning to trust themselves and their own perceptions. They’re also learning not to put so much stock in what other people think and believe.

I’ve seen people with a life lesson of inner authority get into a cult (many people who end up in cults are learning this life lesson) — that’s probably the ‘rock bottom’ experience for learning this negatively.

If you are learning a life lesson of inner authority more positively, you will find yourself with a strong sense of discernment and a well-developed BS radar. You will stop caring so much about what other people think or believe. You’ll be able to tune out all the noise and tune in to your feelings, beliefs, thoughts, and opinions, and act on those.

You will become your #1 authority for you, and you’ll feel secure in that.

Affirmations for learning this life lesson positively:

“I trust myself, and my perceptions.”

    “I answer to no-one.”

Let’s have a look at another life lesson now that sometimes comes up for my clients.

    Persistence

When you have a life lesson of persistence but you’re learning it negatively, you will have a goal (or multiple goals) that you keep giving up on. When you encounter obstacles or get off track, you will get discouraged and let it affect your progress negatively.

If you learn persistence in a positive way, you will enjoy the wonderful experience of overcoming any obstacle in your path, on the way to your goal. How satisfying! The right resources will show up at the right time, to help you persist.

Affirmations for learning this life lesson positively:

“It is so satisfying that I am able to easily and quickly overcome any obstacles in my path”

“I always get what I want”

    Emotionality

When you have a life lesson of emotionality, you’re learning to handle and navigate your strong negative emotions (such as anger, sadness, or jealousy) in a healthy way.

If you’re learning this in a negative way, you may find yourself allowing emotions, such as anger, to permanently damage valuable relationships. Or maybe you get into a road rage altercation!

If you’re learning this in a more positive way, you will find yourself able to hold space for your negative emotions, and you’ll allow them to pass through you without reacting to them.

Affirmation for learning this life lesson positively:

“I welcome in and accept all of my emotions, positive and negative.”

These are just 5 of the common life lessons I come across (there are 82 more life lessons that a soul can choose to learn, that I know of.)

How to have more positive experiences connected to your life lesson

Step one: Find out your life lesson through a reading

Step two: Come up with an affirmation which encapsulates that life lesson being learned positively, and repeat it daily for 5 minutes per day, for a period of several weeks.

Learn how to use affirmations here.

You will soon find yourself attracting more positive experiences into your life.

You also don’t need to know your life lesson to do this. Write down some of the negative experiences you’ve had recently or things you’ve struggled with, and then decide what the opposite of those experiences are. Affirm for that.

So, for example, if you have struggled to find somewhere permanent to live over the last few years because you keep renting places and the landlord sells up soon after you move in, affirm: “It is so wonderful I now have a permanent place to live” or “I feel so secure and settled in my new home.”

  • Why You Don’t Have to Be Intuitive to Learn to Read the Akashic Records

When you think of someone who reads the Akashic Records professionally, you may imagine that such a person has always been psychic — perhaps someone who had impressive psychic skills in childhood, and retained their abilities into adulthood.

    Those people certainly exist.

But what if I told you that some of the people who take my Akashic Record Reading Program, and graduate from it, and work with clients, did not have evidence of their intuitive abilities when they started learning to read the Akashic Records.

    Perhaps this would surprise you.

But it actually isn’t surprising at all, when you consider what reading the Akashic Records (as I teach it) involves.

Let’s first of all look at how most methods of reading the Akashic Records work…

Many programs & books which teach you how to read the Akashic Records involve using a prayer which allows you to access the records, then you are expected to channel on a bunch of open-ended questions (about a client’s life or your own life.)

For such a process, you do need some channelling abilities to deliver an accurate reading. Typically there’s an apprenticeship period where you work intensively to develop your skills, make mistakes, get feedback, and find out more how your channelling abilities work. And when you’re a beginner using your channelling abilities, it can be notoriously hit and miss.

The method I teach for reading the Akashic Records doesn’t involve channelling and is much simpler to learn. It also doesn’t involve making mistakes, either.

Anyone (including a total beginner) who follows this method, can do an accurate Akashic Record reading from the get go. The apprenticeship period is not usually longer than a few months. And once you’ve mastered the process and have a bit of experience under your belt, doing an Akashic record reading is not hard work.

    Here’s how the method works:

    1. First of all, you learn about the many aspects of the soul’s path and past that may apply to your client. I have listed them below.

    • The 8 energy centres of training

The energy centre of training is about the realm your soul has trained in, in the past. Many people have a vague awareness of the 8 major chakras that exist in our bodies, but what most people don’t know is that there are 8 realms in the Universe which correspond to these 8 major chakras. These realms hold the energies that we associate with each chakra, and every soul has chosen one realm to ‘train in’. When we do this, we embody the energy of that realm and bring it into the physical when we incarnate. For example, if your soul has chosen to train in the 4th realm (which corresponds to the heart chakra), it means you are a healer (on the soul level) and you’ll likely be bringing this healing soul purpose into the physical realm, too. Note that this realm of training does not change from one earthly incarnation to the next — it stays the same across all lifetimes.

Knowing which realm your soul has trained in can help to validate you in your desires and soul’s path. In my Akashic Records course, you learn about all 8 realms of training and how they tend to manifest for people.

    • The 22 + soul groups of origin

Your soul group of origin is the environment that your soul chose during its formative incarnations. When a soul is new and lacks experience, it will deliberately select a place of incarnation in the Universe that will complement its own soul and its plans for evolution. There are many places in the Universe where a soul can grow and evolve. The place that the soul chooses for its first several incarnations becomes imprinted on the fabric of the soul and a part of who the soul is. This is why it is such an important part of the soul’s identity in subsequent incarnations and the soul’s purpose.

    • The 4 primary life focuses that a soul can choose

Not all souls are here for the same reasons. Some souls have a particular focus on learning during their lifetime, while others are here to support other souls, contribute to the greater good, or just have a good time. To some extent, we can do all 4, but there’s usually one life focus that our soul has chosen predominantly for this lifetime. It can be very interesting to find out what it is.

    • The 88 life lessons that we know of

Most souls have a curriculum of life lessons — usually several — that they are exploring during any given lifetime.

The primary life lesson is the underlying theme behind many of the person’s life experiences. Common life lessons include self-love, moderation, patience or surrender (and there’s several dozen more than I know of!)

There is often one primary life lesson and multiple secondary life lessons that a soul will be learning. In my Akashic Records class, you learn the details on all 88 life lessons.

    • The various soul trainings that a soul can do between earthly incarnations

Once a soul crosses over to the ‘other side’ after an earthly lifetime, there are multiple avenues for learning that the soul can explore in the non-physical realm (these are called ‘soul trainings’). Many of these trainings give us skills that we can use when we’re incarnated. For example, if you have an affinity for energy healing modalities such as Reiki, it may be that you’ve studied human energy anatomy on the other side.

    • Basic info on past earthly lifetimes

For this section of the reading, we look up info such as the total number of earthly lifetimes a client has had and how many of these lives were male vs. female.

We also look at the kinds of roles a soul has had in the past. For example, upon researching this we may find that over 50% a client’s earthly past lives have been religious ones, and as a result, such a person is likely to be a person of faith in this lifetime, or someone very spiritual.

Or we could find that a client has had lots of lives fighting as a warrior or soldier, or maybe the bulk of their lifetimes have been parenting as a mother and being a wife. It can be really interesting to find out the roles that a soul is extra comfortable with, through past experience.

In my course, I talk about all of the possibilities for past life roles.

    • Which of the 5 out of a couple of dozen archetypes that a soul can embody, and what this means for their purpose

The archetypes are qualities/gifts that the soul embodies which do not come from the other aspects covered above (such as the soul group of origin or the soul trainings.) They often come from past lives and they provide more info on the person’s soul purpose for this specific lifetime. For example, you might find out from the archetypes that a person is a lightworker or a healer.

    • Info on the secondary Godspark

All souls have a primary Godspark, which is an energetic connection that arises from the heart chakra and connects the soul back to Source/the Divine. We receive energy from Source when we sleep, through this Godspark.

Some souls have a secondary godspark, which is a second connection to Source, connected at a particular chakra. This constitutes a boost of energy for this lifetime (from Source) for a particular area of the person’s life. So, as an example, a soul with a soul purpose that revolves around communication and/or teaching may find themselves with a secondary Godspark at the throat chakra.

    • Intuitive and empath gifts

The final part of an Akashic reading goes into the strongest intuitive or empath gifts that a person has for this lifetime. It could be a combination of emotional empathy and claircognizance, or perhaps clairvoyance and clairaudience, to give a couple of recent examples from my readings.

OK, so when you have learned about all the soul trainings, life lessons, soul groups, archetypes, gifts, etc. What you do next for your reading is research which ones apply to your client (or yourself!)

You do this using dowsing and a set of charts.

Dowsing means dowsing with a pendulum and a chart is something on a page with several rows and columns to it.

So, for example, if you ask: ‘Which of the 22+ soul groups does a client belong to?’…

…To answer this question, you’re going to have a chart on a piece of paper in front of you with many rows and columns. Each soul group is represented in a particular row and column. Then you ask, is this person’s soul group to be found in row 1/2/3/4 until you locate the correct row using your pendulum (your pendulum is going to swing a certain way for ‘yes’ and a certain way for ‘no’). Then you locate the correct column in a similar way, until you have narrowed it down to the right soul group.

You do this for every point in the reading — the life lessons, the soul training, archetypes, intuitive gifts, everything has its own chart that you use to identify which parts apply to your client.

So, the reason new Akashic Record readers can be so accurate from the beginning, is because this process of locating the various aspects of the person’s soul is done through pendulum dowsing and charts. There is no channelling involved.

If you have channelling abilities, you can add a few more details to the past life section of the reading, but even if you don’t, I have charts for that, too.

Researching the above points results in a content-rich reading that often is 25-30 pages long (size 12 font) when delivered by email. When delivered by phone, the reading will often take 45-75 mins.

You can check out an example Akashic reading here.

I hope this article clarifies why you do not need to be intuitive to read the Akashic Records.

All you need is belief, a willingness to learn to dowse with a pendulum, and openness to the information we have about the various aspects of the soul described above. And of course, time to learn.

And many students have found that as a happy side effect of working in the Akashic Records, their channelling abilities also get a boost!

If you’d like to learn to read the Akashic Records for yourself or others, check out my Akashic Record Reading Program.

“I’ve been fascinated with the Akashic Records for quite awhile now but so much of the information about how to access the records and receive clear guidance was vague. Anna’s course gave me clear, detailed steps to take to access the information and a way to validate that the information was correct – invaluable to someone as detail oriented as myself! I appreciated the requirement of practicing on others – it helped to boost confidence and it was extremely validating to hear how the information resonated with my clients. If you’re wanting to learn the Akashic Records, I couldn’t recommend Anna’s course more.”

    — Mandy Carsten, MandyCarsten.com

“The level of detail in this program is astonishing. It never fails, completing Anna’s programs not only provide you with the opportunity to shine a light into the lives of others, but they also leave you feeling more confident and healed yourself. Anna provides an incredibly thorough study in her Akashic Record Reading Program, and as with all her programs, she is available for support and coaching as you need it. It is clear Anna not only has a tremendous depth of knowledge, but also, she leans into her teaching background to facilitate understanding for all her students. I highly recommend working with Anna in any capacity, her work is the gift that keeps on giving!

  • Remote Viewing Exercise Results

The photo I asked you to ‘tune in’ to, on the back end of my website (labelled ‘131’) was this one:

    How did you do?

If you didn’t do as well as you hoped, that is no problem.

Most people end up making many mistakes when they’re in the process of developing their intuitive abilities. Every mistake helps you to learn more about your skills, what works, and what doesn’t.

When you’re assessing how you did, it can be helpful to note how you received your insights. For example, perhaps the insights you received through clairvoyance (i.e. what you ‘saw’ in your mind’s eye) were accurate but the insight you picked up through your clairaudience (i.e. a word that popped into your head) was not. This is helpful to track because you may find that one of your clairs is a bit weaker than the others.

Would you like to develop your intuitive abilities further?

I have a useful free article which can help you get started on a path of intuitive development: My 6 Step Formula for Communicating with Spirit.

In that article, I talk about the 6 bases you must cover to be able to pick up on accurate psychic information. It’s essentially a map which shows you to how to get from A to B in psychic development.

And if you’re already on the path of psychic development, but you’d like to troubleshoot and improve your skills further, I highly recommend that you check out the same article. It may highlight a weak link in your skills, that if you fix, could potentially supercharge your psychic skills.

Also check out these affirmations for developing psychic abilities — saying these on a regular basis for a few months can help you to align with a reality where you are a powerful and accurate psychic.

  • “Who Was I in a Past Life?” Ways to Find Out

A desire to learn more about who I had been in my past lives was the catalyst for me ending up working in the spiritual field.

At the time I was living and working in Spain as a teacher. I got an Akashic Record reading, with information about my past lives, and the reader told me that the reason for my interest in past lives was because I had something from a past life that needed healing.

Over the 15 years that followed, I had 14 sessions of past life regression, I trained as a past life regressionist myself, and I learned to read the Akashic Records and tell others about their past lives (and research my own.) So I have quite a bit of experience with exploring past lives and in this article, I’m going to talk about the various options for gaining this kind of information about yourself, if you should be interested in your past lives.

Let’s have a look at the best ways to explore past lives:

    Past life regression

My favourite way to gain more insight into how your past lives may be affecting you, is through past life regression.

However, I recommend the type of past life regression that is about healing. I’m not a big fan of exploratory past life regression, where you just find out about your past lives, but there is no healing available.

This is because in my experience, when we undergo a past life regression, we often end up going to the most traumatic past lives that require healing. These are the lives with unfinished business. The harmonious, happy lifetimes won’t usually come up in a past life regression, unless you set the intention for them to.

So, if you ever do an exploratory past life regression (i.e. with no opportunity for healing), make sure you only intend to find out about lives with no significant trauma.

I’ve explored loads of my past lives in regressions. If you’d like to read more about my experiences, you can do so here — just a warning that some of them are quite intense!

I like the type of regression therapy that is practised by students of the late Dr. Roger Woolger (You can find a directory of Dr Woolger’s graduates here.) It’s called Deep Memory Process and it’s the most cathartic form of past life regression I’ve ever tried.

(I have worked with Patricia Walsh, who is a DMP trainer and practitioner, and can recommend her past life regression sessions.)

    Past life readings

Another option for exploring your past lives is to get a reading with someone who knows how to read the Akashic Records. I go into past lives in my Akashic Record readings.

I’ve also trained many people in reading the records, some of whom specifically offer past life readings.

A past life reading is not usually as deep or as detailed as a past life regression but you could end up learning something that explains more about who you are now. Our past lives are like hundreds of forgotten childhoods (because they also affect us the way our childhoods affect us).

I was once told in a past life reading that I was a British governess in the 18th century, who taught the children of a wealthy family in Tuscany, Italy. In that life, I was having an affair with the brother of the man whose children I was teaching and I received a marriage proposal from the father of the family, but I turned it down and returned to the UK.

The interesting thing about this situation was that although the reader didn’t know it, I was a teacher living abroad at the time. I had the opportunity to have an affair with the parent of a child I was teaching (which I’m grateful to my past self that I didn’t take.) I also had a picture of the Tuscan countryside on my wall since I was teenager. I had been so drawn to this picture when I saw it in a shop that I had to have it and it remained with me for years afterwards. When I looked at it, I felt a sense of comfort, like I was in a lovely dream. It had a hypnotic quality to it.

You’d be surprised by how many details of your life, including your likes and dislikes, personality, patterns of thinking and believing, are a reflection of your past lives.

    Researching our own past lives

Another way you could find out more about your past lives is by learning to read your own akashic soul record. I offer a program which teaches people how to read for others in this way. Note that this is not the quickest route to find out more about your past lives, because I recommend reading for at least 12 people before you read for yourself. But this is one more option if you are also interested in reading for others, and you are able to be patient.

How many past lives have most people had?

The majority of my clients have had between 50 and 200 past lives. Whether you’ve had lots of past lives or not many, will depend on your soul group of origin. Some soul groups incarnate here on Earth a lot and others don’t like it and tend to stay away, incarnating rarely. I wrote more about this here.
